When my wife and I were looking for a photographer for our wedding we wanted two things: someone with a more photojournalistic (documentary) style, and someone who liked to shoot on film. We met with several photographers before meeting with Sini and immediately knowing she was the perfect fit! The day of the wedding, we barely noticed her and her assistant as they captured beautiful, honest, candid photos of us and our friends and families. They were sweet, sincere (not posed), intimate, FUNNY. The vast majority of our photos were taken without us noticing or having to participate, allowing us to stay in the moment and relish in the magic of the day. Being pregnant in the middle of the pandemic, while going through intense morning sickness and multiple scares has not been fun- but I'm so grateful to Sini for capturing this season for me and my husband in such a beautiful way. I realized I basically had no pictures during my pregnancy because I felt so sick for most of it. Adding the pandemic to the mix, time was flying by so fast and I was scared I would have nothing good to remember my first pregnancy by. We're so thankful we got to work with Sini for our engagement + wedding photoshoot and our actual wedding day! This review is long overdue, we have had the pleasure of having Sini as our photographer twice now. Once for our maternity session in July, and just recently for a mini session for our Christmas photos with our two-month-old daughter. What can we say? Sini was simply amazing. We hired her as our wedding photographer this past month and she exceeded our expectations in every way. We just had our photo session with Sini yesterday. It was our third photo shoot experience with a total stranger. And it was the best one we had! The first one we had was in Torrey pines state beach at around sun set. It was meant for engagement picture but the editing was not what we liked. The second time we had it in Balboa park. It was early morning and we were not prepared enough for a morning photo shoot. The editing was better but we didn't seem natural in the pictures. I don't know if it had anything to do with the photographer being guys in those two sessions? We felt a little awkward during both sessions because we were not used to so much PDA in front of a stranger. Prior to our photo session, she gave us some locations and outfit suggestion. That's something our last two photographers didn't do. We ended up going back to Torrey pines state beach because we like that place. Sini was ok to walk pretty far with us and we had some casual conversations. She was very easy to get along and she made us feel comfortable to be ourselves even though we just met. James is weird and he does weird things sometimes. Sini was not judgmental and she laughed at things that he said. She kept taking pictures while James talked about bird poop and what not. Our photo session was with our dog (Gibbs the destroyer) and she captured some of the best pictures of Gibbs. It's hard to get a good picture of Gibbs even for us because he doesn't like camera/phone pointing at him. Sini did it. We spent about an hour taking pictures. She turned the pictures around in one night. This girl works hard! The editing of the pictures was exactly what I wanted. She did very well with the golden hour lighting and I wish I had found her last year! I forget to add one more thing. Our wedding day definitely was the most important, memorable, special and meaningful day of our lives to this date. As I am sure it is for most people and if you are reading this right now you are more than likely planning for your wedding day. We made a pact to enjoy the process and soak it all in. She and her assistant photographer David flew to Bali for our wedding, even though the time spent together were short but they really felt like friends to us. Sini was very professional and always responded to my questions promptly, she also spent a fair amount of time to discuss with me in details regarding what kinda vibes I was aiming for, we went through all the timeline, decoration, lighting as well as the venue conditions, it was just a pure joy working with her. I am a perfectionist who worries easily, especially for our own wedding. She was very patient and professional and genuine, never let me feel worried about her during those two days. More importantly, she never let us feel pressured through out the whole day under her cameras, I honestly felt very comfortable and safe with her being my photographer on site. Sini is amazing! I shot with her for my graduation photos and they all turned out amazing. We started out on campus at UCSD taking more typical graduation shots. She gave a lot of direction and helped me feel comfortable in front of the camera. We also went to glider point to get some nice beach shots.
