Overall very positive experience! I just moved to the area so I was looking for a new dentist to begin with. I was able to get an appointment quickly and the scheduling experience was a very good; the reception was friendly, helpful, and proactive: they contacted my prior dentist and got all my info, films/xrays, etc ahead of my appointment so they were very prepared and I wouldn't have to redo xrays that I already had. The service itself was great. Staff was extremely friendly, the dentist was thorough, and I felt like it was very comprehensive while still being fast and efficient. The office is clean and modern. And I appreciated the TV on the ceiling so I would have something to look at during my appointment! I felt very taken care of and would recommend coming here! read more

One of the better dental experiences I've had! One thing to note is that the dentist did my cleaning, as opposed to a hygienist. My prior experience with hygienists has varied widely, where some are great and others are not. Having the dentist do the cleaning removes that risk and ensures you will have a great cleaning. I also found the booking process to be easy, the office is easy to get to, and everything was clean. My one point of feedback is that the email system and new patient forms are outdated and could use a refresh. read more

I was really hoping this office would live up to their reviews, but avoid if you want the Dr. to actually listen to you, the patient. I booked a new client appointment, filled out all the forms, sent over my X-rays, provided insurance, etc. Everything was confirmed and I showed up early to a nice, brand new office. During my appointment, I was with the dental hygienist for most of the time and when Dr. Pham came in, she cleaned quickly. I wanted to confirm with her a few things I was looking for in a new dentist office for my family, but she had no time to listen and made that apparent. She cut me off and ran to the next patient. At check-out, Vicki confirmed my balance was clear and asked how my appt is went. So I communicated Dr. Pham did a nice job, but that I have more cleaning and work to do at my next appt. I then scheduled 2 appts, ny second and one for my wife. I don't know what Vicki communicated to Dr. Pham, but I received a call a few days later from Dr. Pham telling me I would not be a good fit for their office, essentially firing me as a patient. I then get an invoice a month later after my insurance covered everything with no explanation and constant reminders. I am left shocked by their treatment. The miscommunication, the lack of being valued, the money plotting. I just wanted to have my teeth cleaned, but the only thing they do well is their marketing to receive 5 star reviews, not actually the practice of dentistry or client care. They viewed any sign of discomfort as that, and didn't try and blow it off as sensitivity, they took care of it on the spot and made my experience even better. Dr. Pham and her team are terrific, and I'll be sticking with them for the foreseeable future. I was searching for a new dentist for my girlfriend and myself. After a bad experience at a dentistry in Emeryville, I've had trust issues, and am very critical of the experience when it comes to dentists. The facilities are small, but clean and modern. The staff are approachable, polite, and provide a pleasant experience. They aren't particularly talkative, but that's totally fine by me. My most important assessments are with the gentleness of a cleaning, and the candidness of recommended course of action. Dr. Pham, like her staff, is very polite, approachable, and exudes an air of calmness. It put me at ease. I have very sensitive teeth and her cleaning was more gentle than I would have expected. She was very patient and took her time. I also needed to get some more involved work done, and there was no pain or concern. Incredibly gentle and smooth. Quick at times when efficiency was needed, but never hurried. This alone wins my recommendation. Going back to initial visit, when it was time to discuss my future work needed, it was fair and honest. To MY error, I experienced some initial hesitation. In the past two decades, I haven't had any procedures done beyond a simple cleaning, and a very long gap between dentist visits. When I was recommended to consider completing some re-work on the claim of existing cavities, I was concerned because I had the belief that I had no cavities. I presented my concern and Dr. Pham was able to explain the situation deeper, while providing me a mirror so I could look at exactly what it was she was describing. The staff allowed me to call my former dentistry, whom I haven't contacted in more than two decades ago. They were able to confirm the previous work done on my teeth. I went to my follow up with Dr. Pham and was grateful that she: Recommended a course of action, and after I showed concern, she described in greater detail why. Did not get offended or pushy when I showed hesitation. Provided a pleasant experience on the follow up. During the procedure, Dr. Pham continuously checked in on my pain level, and ensured great effort to work on details when I showed the slightest concern of the feel of my bite (which she asked for- greatly appreciated), even though she probably nailed it on the first run. Post procedure was easy, by the way. No pain, and everything felt great 2 hours afterward. Some things to understand, and maybe consider feedback for the staff: If you are at all concerned about a procedure/process, it will be up to the customer to actively ask for the deeper details. I don't mind, and am typically the person to ask a lot of questions before and after a procedure. But a lot of people aren't, and I would be concerned if I sent someone with such a personality to get a procedure done, that they would have all the pre- and post- procedure information needed to ease their mind and prevent issues or concerns. So, for customers: ask 'why' a lot, especially if you don't know. Dr. Pham and the staff are very patient and answered all of my questions and doubts. For the staff: at least for my girlfriend and me, more details on what to expect and why, the better :). I've been on the hunt for a great dentistry, and now that hunt is over. After going through a few dentists for my kids - due to no longer taking insurance, retirements, etc. - I landed on Dr. Pham and her team. My kids have been patients for 1-2 yrs now and I've been really happy with the care we've received from the entire Singleton team. As someone who has had many mixed experiences (mostly negative) with dentists, I also recently put my dental health needs into the hands of Dr. Yu, who has been incredibly patient, gentle, and thorough with me. The front office team are incredibly professional and just really lovely, every single time we're there - which has been fairly frequent lately. They are very thorough about costs and insurance coverage, the office is so bright and clean, and I feel very well-taken care of. I highly recommend this practice. read more

I am here to comment on the billing department. They said my first visit which was preventative was supposed to be covered 100% and I confirmed it prior to going there. A week later, got a bill stating the insurance only covered partial per their contracted rate and now they want me to cover the rest. It's unfair to get slapped by bill when they originally said it was 100% as it falls under preventative care. I am a medical professional myself and have my own practice, the lack of transparency feels unethical. read more

I have been to multiple dentists in Alameda and have struggled to find one I really loved. I came to Singleton Smile after seeing all of the great reviews, and they did not disappoint! The staff was truly wonderful - warm, friendly, welcoming. They did a very thorough job cleaning my teeth, and Dr. Pham was diligent and helpful. I also LOVE Singleton's online/digital system. It is so rare for dentists to have an online scheduling capability. With Singleton, everything can be done online and they leverage texting to communicate important updates. If you want to call, however, as opposed to online/text, their staff is always there to answer and very friendly over the phone. I'm so relieved to have finally found a dentist I love here! I haven't been impressed by a dental experience in a long time but Dr Pham and her team were top notch. -This was my second appointment and I appreciate that appointments start on time as soon as I am ready. -Dr. Pham was meticulous about cleaning and checking my teeth. She took more time and care than I was used to with my previous dentists. - I shared an issue I've been having with food constantly getting stuck between my back molars (aka Bain of my existence) and she was able to quickly diagnose and recommend what we could do to improve it. My previous dentist pretty much said there's nothing we can do. -She even remembered details about my previous visit with her 6 months ago. Absolutely fantastic dentist! I was so impressed with Dr. Pham that I moved my husband from his current dentist to her practice. She does all my cleanings herself, and my teeth and gums have never felt so clean and healthy. Dr. Pham is a thorough, kind professional and answers all my questions with great information and advice. Plus, although I needed serious deep cleaning and a lot of gum scraping, she's always gentle and checks in with me to make sure I'm okay. Everyone in the office is terrific, especially Vicki at the front desk, and Vanessa, the dental assistant. The office itself is absolutely spotless, and I have had no trouble finding free street parking right outside. Truly, I would give Dr. Pham 10 stars if I could. I came for the first time today to get a cleaning & it was my first one in 2 years. Dr. Pham & her staff are so friendly! Very professional as well. I was a little worried about coming in as a first time patient seeing how my last few experiences as a first time patient was but my worries were put to ease thankfully. Very smooth indeed! Dr Maria Pham and her staff at Singleton Smile were life savers! I'd been dragging my feet on finding a new dentist after my longtime dentist retired but after losing a crown on one side and cracking a filling on the other, I was in dire need of dental help. Dr Pham squeezed me into her packed schedule so I could go on my two-week Xmas vacation in comfort. After the antiesthetic wore off, I found that my bite was a little off but Dr Pham stayed after hours to adjust it. She observed that the gullies in my molars and the thin edges of my front uppers were due to grinding and recommended using a mouth guard. No previous dentist explained the symptoms and consequences; I've been using a guard at night and refraining from grinding during the day (possibly a larger contributor than the nighttime grinding) and am already seeing the benefits. My former dentist had quoted me around $3,000 for some dental work. when I switched to Singleton they ended up doing the same exact work for $300!!
