I called for a consultation- was misinformed about California law and parental rights. They scheduled me an appointment anyways. We waited 20 min past our appt (and was told conflicting stories of the lawyers whereabouts) to speak with a paralegal that could have saved us both time and taken that info over the phone. I must first start off by saying I have been a client of Diane Singleton since 2015 of August. As you can see I am a faithful client and she is an awesome attorney! I had made an appointment for a consultation and my 12 year old son had to come with me. When the receptionist was ready for us we were asked to go into the glass conference room which is part of the reception/waiting area when you walk in the office. They told me that my son could not wait in the waiting room by himself nor the conference room per their policy. I then asked would it be better if he wait in the car alone. The response was, I don't know. The receptionist asked the attorney if he could stay in the waiting room and they refused. I could understand if my child was 5 but he is 12 years old quietly playing on his phone. I explained my situation again and no other option was offered, so I had to leave. This policy should be brought to a clients attention when scheduling an appointment. This was a total waste of my time. I specifically chose this law firm based on their Yelp ratings and their location. This has never happened to me in any doctor or professional office setting. So much for their "Free Consultation" I submitted my contact information after clicking on their "Click here for a free consultation" I did not hear from anyone so I called the next day and the lady who answered did every thing she could to not have me come in. I finally convinced her to make me an appointment for the following Wednesday afternoon at 1:30. I received a call a couple of hours later asking why I needed to see someone. I told her I had some questions regarding family law. She said are you interested in a divorce or legal separation? I imformed her I just had some questions regarding our particular situation regarding community property etc that I needed answered before we went to see our trust lawyer. She said they did not get involved in living trusts. I informed her we already had a living trust lawyer and just needed basic family law questions answered. She kept pushing to cancel the appointment and I finally let her off the hook and told her I would call someone who had more time.
