Total rip off. Diane runs an unethical law firm. Paid the initial retainer of $3 000 and with initial paperwork, emails, and phone calls, blew through that quickly. Needed to have opposing party served and the paralegal was completely inept in getting it done. She took 2 weeks and we were charged for every phone call and email between her and the server. I called and had it scheduled and served within 12 hours. Asked for more money 2x and paid in hopes the divorce would be finished. $17.50 for a phone call or email that lasts 5 minutes or less?! Really?!?! I have no issue with paying for time spent on prepping paperwork or filing. My issue is being asked for more money with no court dates and no finalized divorce!! No property to split, just custody and child support. 9 months after starting the divorce process, no divorce, but they have my $4,700. Oh, and if you voice your frustration and try to hold them accountable, they will drop you as a client. Total sham of a law firm. Diane shame on you. Your ensured us when we met with you $3,000-$3,500 max and we trusted you to do get this done. We have been nickel and dimed and I'm just sick about it. How do you sleep at night knowing you take advantage of people? And upping your hourly rates on existing clients?? Tacky to say the least. The worst attorney for complicated divorce. i hired this attorney back in August 2020. My husband was throwing a fit about a house we purchased during marriage from my In-Laws. After separation my HUSBAND was trying to rush and sell the house and make me sign a quit claim. i hired this attorney since she was really convincing during the consultation. My husband's attorney arranged a emergency hearing regarding sale of the property. i was fine selling the house but wasn't agreeing to the term where i have to sign the QUIT CLAIM and i also wanted our agent to be changed since our agent tried to intimidate me to agree on selling the property when i was on ready to sell. To my horror Diane told me a week before my hearing to agree to whatever the opposing counsel wants as i don't stand a chance in the hearing. she also mentioned to me that fighting over a agent to be changed was stupid and if she was a judge she would also not agree with my terms. i explained her the whole reason i didn't want the agent (and please consider i had more reasons which i can't mention here). But after hearing her statement i was really concerned as i knew she decided before my hearing that i will lose the hearing. i changed my attorney within 2 days and let me tell u that is the best decision i made ever. not going to mention the second attorney as i am not trying to promote anyone here. But within that 4-5 days left not did that attorney take my case but also won that hearing which DIANE told me i will lose. I won every hearing after that and my attorney was able to bring us to agreement and now my divorce has been finalized without a trial. so please don't get excited about all the 5star ratings as this attorney cannot handle a complicated case. please don't waste your time and get someone else. Divorce is always a stress and you don't need a attorney to make it more complicated. read more

I hired Diane Singleton to ensure that my daughter would get the protection she needed. My daughter's mother crashed her car while intoxicated. In preparing for the case, I tried contacting Diane numerous times and was continually told she was busy. I finally had to get upset just to speak with a paralegal. I was told I have nothing to worry about, that they can't even believe an attorney would take the case against me. They encouraged all evidence I brought to them. I get a call from Matt a day prior to court who assures me that we will get everything we ask for and that there is nothing to worry about. At court, the judge ignores the mediator's recommendations and gives two overnights, just 2 months after the accident. I am floored as my attorney assured me that I had nothing to worry about. Matt advises me to ask for an evidentiary hearing after I ask him about my options. I give him all the facts and he tells me that we have a strong case and that we can always settle out of court. I once again can't get in touch with Diane. Finally after numerous calls, they "squeeze me in." She assures me that we made the right choice and we have option and that once again I have nothing to worry about. Finally 2 days before our paperwork is due, the paralegal tells me I have nothing to worry about even though we haven't built a case. After all of that, I had gone through $3000, spoke to Diane for less than 30 minutes, Had no case to present and my only two options are to ask the other party to settle out of court or to ask for a continuance. I was advised to use evidence that was disregarded, was constantly told I was in good hands and that I had nothing to worry about and was not given the proper attention. I am now out of $3000 and I am facing an evidentiary hearing with no case to present and am far worse off than I would have been if I handled this case on my own. Diane's office was ineffective and offered me no benefit. I am extremely dissatisfied with her whole office. read more

I called to schedule an appoint but the receptionist gave me completely wrong info. Gave me the 3rd degree and told me ahe is just collecting the data to transfer the call..however she couldn't tell me difference between 7 or 13. She then tell me she is going to schedule the appointment. I told her juatbtold me she was going to transfer me and said there is no attorney on site for Friday. I hired Diane to look over my separation agreement, she tried to push me into fighting for money instead of the agreement I had. After it was clear I did not want to pursue this route, she did what she could to cut off phone conversations with me and basically stole my $1000. ( I did not see $1000 in value for what she provided, 30 minutes of her time tops, but i would never know because she didnt feel it necessary to track any of her time). They have some good reviews which is why i chose them, but she only made my situation worse. Hiring her was a TERRIBLE mistake. Update: if you leave a negative review, she will threaten you with a lawsuit to remove it, gave me a deadline and everything. She almost put more time into arguing with me ( her client) about this review than she did talking to me about my case. My divorce case is still ongoing but I didn't want to wait to write a review based only on the final outcome of my case because it's truly the journey that defines the quality of this firm. From the first consultation with Diane Singleton Smith, I knew she would fight for me. She was honest, compassionate and realistic about my case. I had 2 other attorneys prior to finding her and I wish I had consulted with her first! My case is high conflict and the entire time I felt steamrolled by the system and misunderstood by my prior attorneys. Although Diane does not directly represent me in court, she is HIGHLY involved in every case, consults weekly with my attorney and paralegal, and steers things properly using her experience and knowledge. My attorney, Ulea, and my paralegal, Danielle, are totally on top of my case at all times. They are extremely competent and compassionate. As with most high conflict cases, mine has been heartbreaking, I've had so many things taken away from me, fought for so long, and have felt broken so many times. Diane gets it! I can't say one good thing about this law firm. I wish I could put zero stars honestly. They told me to lie to the courts and say I had car problems which is why I couldn't make my mediation zoom date just to give them more time on my file because they hadn't been working on it and then they billed me for the hearing that never happened and prep work for a hearing that never happened. I always had to call or email the paralegal to get updates on my case because they never reached out to me. Then they billed me for reaching out. I tried getting a reimbursement for items I shouldn't be charged for but they denied it. They just want to pull the maximum amount of money out of you! Extremely poor service! They are negligent and incompetent. I paid them thousands of dollars for basically nothing and when I called them out on their failures they let me go as their client when my case was not even complete. If I could give 0 stars, I would. My experience with Singleton Smith was horrific. I am going through a very messy divorce. I made that clear to them when we met for a consultation. They seemed great the first couple months, but very quickly turned into a nightmare. I started noticing they were CONSTANTLY asking for money. When I would receive the statements, they were charging for every. Little. Thing. To write an email to myself, to leave a voicemail for myself, to answer a phone call from me, etc. Careless with money and completely compassionless. I would call to ask questions for my attorney and wouldn't hear back for days until I called again and again, yet anytime they wanted anything, would blow up my phone and email. I got an attitude anytime I called the office, and when I expressed my unhappiness with their practice, they told me that because I am unhappy, they were releasing me as their attorney! Instead of trying to right their wrongs or fix the issues, forced me to remove them as my attorney, literally a week before my major court date! They could care less what a horrible position I, as well as my children were put in. As soon as I expressed my concerns and that I had no more money for them to burn through, they threw me out on my a$$. How they have as many raving reviews leaves me dumbfounded. I believe most are afraid to stand up to the people in these positions, but I am not. I would never recommend these people to anyone! 0/10 would never recommend. read more
