There's a small parking lot and I recommend using a GPS since the sign was blocked by foliage so we drove by it the first time. The path was narrow, flat, and dry, and the first part of the trail is in the sun and has foliage going into the trail so being but spray and sunscreen. Also, we crossed the creek to continue on the trail, however it was unclear at times if we were on the trail. The Posted signs were more prevalent so at least we knew where we weren't supposed to go. Note: no dogs are permitted on the trail. Overall it was a convenient stop since we were already out this way.

Dann Lake Park doesn't do much for me. It is located in a lowland and swampy area. Almost every…read moretime we wanted to enjoy the walk, we had to turn back because we couldn't get through the wet spots on the trail or something. Even the freezing temperature didn't help. The walking path was still wet and muddy. No fun. We once tried this place on a hot summer day. The ground was much drier, but I couldn't stand the blazing sun and swarm of bugs. There is no shade on the path for shelter. So, again it was an unpleasant experience for me. In general, the area feels sketchy and uninviting. Even though the town invested in a fancy EZ Launch for kayaks and canoes with an accessible transfer system, someone forgot about putting the sign at the entrance. Right now, you'll see just an old wooden board covered in graffiti. In fact, the whole new recreational area was vandalized with very bad graffiti, including the boardwalk. That's low. Whoever likes Dann Lake Park must have a different approach and needs than mine, that's great. Not sure, but besides kayaking etc., it could be a good place for casual fishing. Anyway, I'm out :).

Going over the rickety bridge is quite the adventure. Lots of times in Sundays you'll see small ethnic celebrations going on. It's definitely one of the quieter parks around. The trail leads you down the shore up to Broderick. I highly recommend riding your bike over the turning bridge and to the other side and heading out the Broderick side with the draw bridge

I had originally planned on just doing a quick lunch walk to do some bird watching but when I got there I quickly realized I'd be there longer than expected because there were so many rarer birds I had never seen and the place was so beautiful! The trail along the gorge rim was really gorgeous. Pun intended Some of the other trails inside of the woods were pretty muddy and a bit hard to follow because of the leaves, but using the alltrails app helped a lot. All of the trials were well marked too, which I really appreciated. It does seem like this place needs a bit more upkeep, but for the most part it's a really great park to walk at and it's dog friendly. All of the trails are pretty moderate and not too strenuous.

This is a great four mile long bike path about a mile outside of the Village of Lancaster. As it…read moresits where train tracks used to be, it is open on both sides so most of your walk will be in the sun but there are some nice shaded stretches. We saw a few lazy groundhogs and a hawk, I feel like this could be a great area animal viewings. There are some nice water areas as well. The path has markers every 1/4 mile to make it easy to track your progress if you don't want to walk the 8 mile round trip. Parking was easy to find at the trailhead but is limited.

While I wouldn't want to walk this path (I prefer hiking on a shady nature trail), this is a great…read morepath for biking. It's pavement, and passes all sorts of beautiful scenery. Although the pavement is smooth (not a lot of loose rocks or other debris) the small hills would make me leery of rollerblading, but I did see someone doing just that. Much of the time, you can forget cars exist. No traffic noise in most places. Just the sound of wind through the trees and water moving in the creek. Geese everywhere, but the path is clear for the most part. Plenty of parking. The bathrooms are currently open. While we have a bike path closer to home, I'd love to come back in the fall for a different experience, or maybe in the evening or early morning. This seems like a great place to observe a variety of wildlife.

There is one small playground between Niawanda Park and here, and another playground just a little bit past with swings. There was some sort of hot dog place, but it doesn't appear to be open. I'm not sure if there were accessible bathrooms or not. This stretch of the trail also looks updated. The lines appear freshly painted and the surface is smooth. Next time we ride along the Shoreline trail we might start here instead. It also seems a little less busy.

As other reviews have mentioned, it's a very flat path, which makes it ideal for roller blading. It passes through woods and by fields, including at least one park with a playground. I prefer bike paths near water and didn't find it as scenic as other paths, but in terms of length and maintenance, it's ideal for a long ride.
