I have a 1970 Nova that needed to get a new headliner and some weatherstripping installed. After…read moreshopping around with the local automotive upholstery shops, Mr. Jimmy D says he can do it for about $450 (which is $200 higher than anyone else quotes me). Per his website and his claims it seems he's been in the business for a while, so i decide that you get what you pay for and the extra $ will be worth it. Mr. Jimmy D tells me to drop it off on a tuesday morning and it will be done that day since i already have all the parts. So I get to his shop and it literally looks like a Goodwill store has exploded in his workbay: broken exercise machines, an old q-bert acade game, sporadic articles of clothing, etc. Nevertheless i Decide to stay the course and leave my car there, even after Mr. Jimmy D tells me its now going to be about $550. I call later that day, he tells me to call back wednesday. I call wednesday and he tells me to call back thursday. I call thursday and he tells me to call back friday. I call back friday and he says it should be done saturday by noon for sure. I show up on saturday as told, and i see the following: -broken ORIGINAL and WORKING dome lamp (not working now!) -improperly glued driver's side c-pillar interior (bubbles galore) -broken glove box latch (?!?) -driver's side door weatherstripping not completed and peeling off -soaking wet floormat (Mr. Jimmy D left the windows open while it rained) And no discount or reduced fee due to any of the above. The headliner looks pretty good, so i guess it wasn't really a complete loss, but i don't think i would return or recommend him to anyone else.

He failed to do it...3 months (and many "it's in the mail" phone calls) later we stopped by to just pick up the paperwork and he became belligerent. Yelling and screaming obscenities was an extreme reaction to asking for a receipt, We do NOT recommend this business.

I'm going to be honest, I've been casual yet consistent friends with the owner Matt since he owned…read morehis small suspension shop BOSS years ago, so we all were really psyched when he purchased the KTM dealer. Matt and his crew are excellent, very knowledgeable, the shop is spotless and laid out really well, with a good selection of essential parts and gear. I've used their service department as well for my KTM and these guys are all pros. I can't recommend the shop enough, a good KTM dealer is almost impossible to find, I go out of my way to support local businesses, and I know the owner personally. (He really is a fantastic guy, kind and generous) My only * is that is that I would like to see more mask use and hand sanitizer because I am an RN and I care about these folks.

I've never been in an establishment where the customer standing at the check-in/check-out counter was put on hold simply because the service desk phone rang. The person who took the time to come into your business deserves your full attention until their transaction is complete. If the phone rings, politely place the caller on hold and finish helping the customer who is already in front of you. This isn't my first visit to HK-KTM, and my previous experiences have been much better, so I'm not going to judge the entire business based on one interaction. I'm chalking this up to a new employee who hasn't yet learned that great customer service starts with taking care of the customer who's standing right in front of you. A little coaching on customer service etiquette would go a long way. "RA" welcomes you!
