They had missed a connection in Denver from San Jose due to weather and had to take a late flight to try to get to their grandmother's visitation service. No other limo service was available because of holiday light bookings. The owner's wife volunteered to take them in her personal auto. I ignored the surly seeming call center operators and the drivers that were hit and miss as far as being personable...ignored the minutes to over an hour wait time and dirty cars...but the following experience has caused me to delete them from my contacts forever: Booked a ride, and when I was picked up, was told it couldn't be the round trip I needed - the driver said he didn't have time (15 minutes extra), due to a contract with the school system (Gasp!! I'd never let a child travel with them unattended!). I immediately said "cancel the ride" at less than a block away from pickup as I couldn't be left standing on the steps of a closed business (dropping off a rent check through a mail slot). The driver kept going...now two blocks away from the start point...I repeated that I needed to be taken back immediately (getting out of the car was not an option as I can't walk more than a few feet)...he said, "I can't do that." I said, "Well, you have to! I am not paying for this ride!" in a more forceful tone, now getting angry. He did then turn the car around and asked me, "So you are just mad because you aren't getting your way?" ...I'm sorry..."My way?" They are running a service they want to be paid for. I was only demanding that I not be "kidnapped" and left stranded. Slightly humorous in retrospect, but for some it might have been a frightening experience. I strongly advise giving this company a hard pass. I got home safely in the end, installed the Lyft app on my phone, and had a pleasant experience with them. Clean car, wonderful driver, arrived in minutes...a few dollars more, but you get what you pay for.

After calling a handful of other taxi services in the Sioux Falls area where either no one picked up or went straight to voicemail, I thankfully found Reliable Taxi and was greeted by a pleasant man named Omar who answered after the first ring. I scheduled the taxi pick up over the phone as I live out of state. Omar quoted me a fair rate in advance. He arrived on time to pick up my mom and got her to the heart hospital right on schedule. Then he promptly called me to report that he had just dropped off my mom and watched her walk into the heart hospital through the main entrance doors. After the procedure, Omar picked up my mom from the hospital and got her safely back home. And sure enough, Omar called me with the update that he had just dropped my mom off and made sure she was safely inside her home before pulling away. I was truly touched by Omar taking the time to call me with the thoughtful updates. As the passenger, my mom said she really appreciated Omar's attentiveness and friendly calm nature as it set her mind at ease during the 45 minute drive to the heart hospital for a procedure she was extremely anxious about. Omar at Reliable Taxi far exceeded both my mom and my expectations. Omar truly went the extra mile and made a lasting impression on us. I will most definitely be calling Reliable Taxi again. My mom told me that it's the only taxi service number she needs on hand going forward and added, "Boy was Omar a nice man -- a true gem!"
