They had missed a connection in Denver from San Jose due to weather and had to take a late flight to try to get to their grandmother's visitation service. No other limo service was available because of holiday light bookings. The owner's wife volunteered to take them in her personal auto. After calling a handful of other taxi services in the Sioux Falls area where either no one picked up or went straight to voicemail, I thankfully found Reliable Taxi and was greeted by a pleasant man named Omar who answered after the first ring. I scheduled the taxi pick up over the phone as I live out of state. Omar quoted me a fair rate in advance. He arrived on time to pick up my mom and got her to the heart hospital right on schedule. Then he promptly called me to report that he had just dropped off my mom and watched her walk into the heart hospital through the main entrance doors. After the procedure, Omar picked up my mom from the hospital and got her safely back home. And sure enough, Omar called me with the update that he had just dropped my mom off and made sure she was safely inside her home before pulling away. I was truly touched by Omar taking the time to call me with the thoughtful updates. As the passenger, my mom said she really appreciated Omar's attentiveness and friendly calm nature as it set her mind at ease during the 45 minute drive to the heart hospital for a procedure she was extremely anxious about. Omar at Reliable Taxi far exceeded both my mom and my expectations. Omar truly went the extra mile and made a lasting impression on us. I will most definitely be calling Reliable Taxi again. I called at 2pm to schedule a pickup at 420pm, the dispatcher (who I later find out is the owner/manager, or so he claimed) asks me where I'm going and where I need to be picked up from. I tell him, he pauses a moment, mutters something I can't understand and then says "I don't want to schedule that" and hangs up the phone. I call back and ask if he hung up on me, he says yes I can't schedule a pickup and hangs up a second time ! At this point my mouth has dropped open and is resting on the floor. I count to ten and call back. I ask for the managers name and number, he replies with I am the manager and the owner. I lose it on this man. I tell him I have never been treated SO poorly and he is the most unprofessional man I've dealt with. He proceeds to YELL into the phone and tell me he's lost 4 cab drivers today. I tell him that wasn't my issue and he shouldn't be taking his problems out on a PAYING CUSTOMER (Ive used this taxi service before) I continue to rip him a new one and end the conversation by letting him know I'm leaving this review. Judging by the way he conducted himself I doubt this review will inspire a change of attitude but this is not a situation I was willing to let go. The better business bureau will also be hearing from me. LONG STORY SHORT NEVER EVER GIVE THIS MAN OR HIS COMPANY ANY OF YOUR MONEY.
