My husband and I decided to have our weekly date night at Sip & Doodle and we bought another couple with us. We arrived a few minutes late but Stacy was very kind and welcoming to our group. My daughter was in from college for a visit so I wanted to plan something fun we could do together. I'm so glad we tried this ! Both of us still draw stick figures so we thought if nothing else it would be a good laugh; but to our surprise we actually did pretty good lol . I am coming back to this place again! Can't believe I actually painted a beautiful picture...hehe So if you go on Groupon and look for paint and sip kind of classes, you will notice that every place makes you paint the same picture. The entire class ends up painting the same thing, which honestly I feel is boring and a complete waste. You are not going to hang two exact same paintings in your house. But at Sip- n- Doodle, you get to choose any picture from either Pinterest or from the stack of printouts that is available for you. When we entered, we were greeted by Stacy, who is the most amazing, highly professional, talented instructor. She had the place lit up! Her studio was so colorful and happy. I was super duper excited and nervous at the same time. She told us to choose whatever picture we like and take our seat. She helped us find the perfect picture as well depending on the difficulty level. We were provided with a foam plate with 4 basic colors: blue, red, white, and yellow, 3 sizes of paint brushes, some chalk, water glass, and a canvas on a stand. As we waited for more people to come it, she made some popcorn (it was complimentary, woohoo!). First she started with the basics and told us what to do and what not to do. She made us take an oath so that we keep all the negativity out and paint like we are all artists. There was a lot of positive energy in the atmosphere and everyone was set to go! She did not spoon feed us or walk us through each and every step. Once she told us about the basics, she kept walking around the studio and helped whoever was stuck. She did give us couple of tips on shading and mixing of colors. I loved the fact that she made us feel very independent. In all that laughing, eating, drinking and painting, we didn't even realize that each of us had created a masterpiece. Stacy was right, we all have it in us. Fun times! Some co-workers and I decided to try Sip-n-doodle for our girls night out. We found a Groupon and made our reservation online. We arrived a bit early, around 6:40, for a 7pm starting time. Stacy was already there and said it was ok that we came in. She showed us where we'd be sitting and then showed us where we could find a picture to paint. Other people started coming in and getting assembled. We took some drinks and snacks. I saw others that brought snack and drink items as well. She has popcorn available and glasses four people to use for their drinks. We finally started about 7:30 and she gave is basic instructions and we were on our way. She continuously walked around and helped as much as she could along with her assistant. I really enjoyed myself and would definitely go again. There was a drawing at the end of the night where everyone got to choose their favorite painting. That person won a free class. She also had frames available for purchase as well. Been here last Sunday with 15 of my friends. The owner is so sweet she really helped us to get our paintings done . Our friends purchased us a session through groupon as a birthday gift. After the owner argued with my friend about a conversation that they had on the phone about accepting it or not she finally remembered and then complained about groupon and how we should of just purchased it from her. We told her it was a gift and I finally got fed up and asked her if she wanted us to leave!!! During painting...I got some help on my painting from the owner but my friend got none and felt lost the whole time...when i needed help instead of instructing us she would grab my painting to fix it...she did this with several painters. I took my Girl Scout troop to Sip N Doodle for our Holiday Party. We had 9 middle school girls and 2 adults. We all had such a fun time! Most of the places I have seen have everyone do the same painting. Not here. We each got to pick a picture or painting that we wanted to imitate. That was a major plus for my group. Miss Stacy was amazing! She was patient with all of the girls (and us leaders) and helped without criticism. All of the girls had a wonderful experience and I can't recommend her more highly. Love this place. I've been here twice with friends, and both times it has been a fun experience. The first time I went, I was nervous because I didn't know what to expect. There was really nothing to be nervous about. Stacy will help you out if you feel like you have no clue what you're doing. I thought the picture I chose to paint was way too hard for me, but with her guidance it actually turned out really well. The second time I went, I brought my own picture to paint. She has tons of pictures for you to choose from, but you can always bring your own. I took another friend with me the second time, and she had a blast as well. Bring your own drinks and snacks, and she has popcorn popping in case you want to snack on that as well. It's a really great experience, and I can't wait to go back. Also, I realized one of my favorite things about Sip-n-Doodle is that Stacy has you use chalk to chalk on the outline of whatever you are painting. I went to another BYOB and paint place when I was in another state, and they didn't do that. I was so frustrated because we all had to paint the same thing, and I kept messing it up. Plus the instructor was so fast in all they wanted us to do. I love how at Sip-n-Doodle you can paint whatever you feel like painting... But that chalk, it's a lifesaver. Of all the sip n doodles I have been to, this was the worst experience. The instructors were not as pleasant or easy to get them to assist with painting suggestions or help. I always take friends and their experience was the same with the Plano location too. Even making the reservation was unpleasant because I had groupons. The owner said she was getting away from using the groupons and told me to return the groupon and she would give me the groupon price to make a reservation...hello, why not just honor the groupon and make it more convenient for the customer??? I will not be attending another sip n doodle (especially at this location). I will try painting with a twist for my next ones. read more

We used this location for my bachelorette party just last night. Stacy was fantastic! We had a private party that went into midnight and she stayed positive and upbeat the whole time. It was obvious that this was something she put her heart into and was going above and beyond to make sure our night was fantastic. We had wine and popcorn and chose many different paintings. I have been to painting with a twist before, and while my experience there wasn't bad, I liked the freedom of choice at sip-n-doodle, even though at first going through all of the ideas was a little overwhelming. The owner is fantastic!! She is very helpful and fun. I like that she includes poking holes in the top and using string so you can hang it. You can buy frames too for a little more. Avoid this place!!!! The lady is unprofessional. I called to make sure my reservation went through ok the morning of the paint party and the lady I spoke with said she couldn't check the list. She was too lazy to look, but said to come on in they didn't have many people today. So me and my daughter, whom I had planned this with about a month ago went for our painting session. When I got there the lady told me that I didn't have a reservation and that they were all booked up. Some people called an hour before the class and she let them in instead. I called to make a reservation that morning and she told me not to and everything was fine. Later she changed her mind. If she would've booked my reservations when I called there wouldn't have been an issue. My daughter and I wasted our time driving over there and the lady was not fair and said she didn't know if she had enough paint. I would avoid this place if you don't want the same!!! read more
