So naturally when I heard about this casual spot in the Valley View Mall serving these and other Signature Drinks and Akai Bowls I immediately planed a trip to the Mall to try it out. This very unique establishment located in the Food Court of the Valley View Mall in a location behind a large window counter near the Barnes and Nobles Bookstore and Food Court tables and chairs, is one of the businesses in the Mall that is continously full with people of all ages: families, friends, and others, wanting to enjoy some quality time together, enjoying a special treat and drink. When I arrived at the place I examined the menu located above the wall in bright menu displays. A young lady employee greeted me with a smile and took my order. I ordered an Iced Thai Bubble Tea with Boba and some Ohio Crepes with Peanut Butter, Nutella, Banana, and Crushed Cookies. Both items were very fresh and delicious. As I enjoyed eating and savoring the Crepes at one of the tables in the Food Court area of the Mall, I observed many other people passing by this business and ordering especially Smoothies and Specialty Drinks. I highly recommend this place whenever you want to enjoy a special Crepes treat and freshen up with a cool glass of a Smoothie or Specialty Drink.

This Asian fusion restaurant in the Cave Spring area of Roanoke, is definitely one of my favorite restaurants of all times. And my first visit and review is something that I will always hold very dear. When you finish reading this review I invite you to go back and read that review and view my photographs accompanying that review, for it was a very unique dining experience that I will never forget. From the time you arrive at this restaurant the contemporary building design seems to beckon you to approach and enter. I love their unique logo design made up of letters and a number of a particular font that communicates a certain air of distinction. Once inside, you're like in another world altogether. If the outside of the building was impressive, the interior immediately captures your attention and mesmerizes you with it's beauty. When I arrived today, a very lovely and distinguished lady, dressed very elegantly, welcomed me and led me to the table of my choice. Later did I find out that she was the owner of the restaurant, and I had an opportunity of talking with her about the restaurant, its Sushi Bar, and Sushi chefs. Soon after, my friendly server, who was from Indonesia, came to introduce himself and take my order. To drink I had a Vietnamese Iced Coffee. It was served in a tall glass and tasted marvelous. As appetizer, I had the Dim Sum Platter. It contained 3 shrimp dŕhumai, 3 pork dumplings, 3 pork wasabi shumai, and 2 roasted pork buns. One of those items was extremely spicy, I had to drink water to cool down. The others tasted reasonably good. As my main entrée I had the Lobster Tail Tempura Maki. It was very colorful and tasted, and completely filled me up. My original server did an excellent job serving me the food and coming by to check on me. But then he disappeared and another server, also Indonesian came to bring me my main entrée. I think it might have been a shift change, but feel the first server should have let me know about this fact. But if the first server wad excellent, the second was amazing. He answered all the questions I had about items on the menu, and while delivering special dishes to other customers, he allowed me to photograph this food for the benefit of the readers of this review. Then, at the end, he helped me choose the dessert to have for the Grand Finale of my meal: the Banana Basket. It was amazingly delicious and had slices of bananas, kiwi, mangos, whipped cream, and strawberries. And topped with caramel and chocolate sauces. Considering its friendly and relaxing ambiance, its extensive menu with a wide range of Asian dishes, from traditional Chinese entries to a full sushi bar with raw and cooked options, and its amazing customer service, I definitely highly recommend this restaurant from my own experience. Every time I've dined there I've had an exceptional fine dining experience, and as I'm leaving I'm already looking forward to returning.

They were doing a heck of a carry out business, and know I know why. My husband had the wonton soup - he must of enjoyed them because I didn't get to try them, however that broth - oh my delicious- I finished that - easily. I had an order of the crab wontons - mostly cream cheese tasting - wish there was a bit more crab/shrimp, overall tasty. We shared our first hot pot - ribeye, carrots, peppers, stewed tomatoes served with your choice of rice - we chose the fried. Our shrimp tempura roll was yummy! Oh and we also each had a strawberry sangria although they do have other cocktails - I totally missed out on a screwdriver but the sangria was good too. Service was excellent- very nice people. Look forward to returning in the future!

Quiet atmosphere, but not the weird quiet, it's the I'm enjoying this delicious dish quiet. Iykyk! It has no fancy restaurant front, no fancy landscaping, no nice trimmed green grass, and the two handrails of the three cement steps going up to the entrance door are rusted and almost falling down. Yet the small parking lot in front of the place is often full of cars during lunch and dinner time. But since it is often these hole in the wall restaurants that have the best ethnic foods, I decided today to go try it out. Just above the restaurant's building one can see the beautiful Mill Mountain in all its splendor with the green color of the Spring and above it, the Roanoke Star, highlighted by a beautiful blue sky high above it. You can appreciate this more by viewing my photographs that accompany this review. After I entered the restaurant through two simple glass doors, the inside of the restaurant was clean, with its walls painted white, its floor tiles nice and shiny, and its decor in the minimalist style with only nice looking furniture and nice original paintings and artworks evenly spread around the walls of the restaurant. It had large windows in the front that brought in bright light. Next to the windows and walls were dark red color booths and in the middle of the dining room were tables and chairs. As soon as I entered I was warmly greeted by a young man behind the host's station, who welcomed me with a big smile, handed me a copy of the menu, and asked me to take a seat at the table of my choice. After walking around I went and sat at a table that I not only could feel comfortable, but was situated in a central location with good light so I could observe the restaurant well and be able to take well lit photographs of the food items as soon as I was served and while enjoying my dining experience. The same host doubled as my server, and came by my table with a happy smile to see if I was ready to order. To drink I ordered the CAFE SU ADA, a Vietnamese Iced Coffee with Condensed Milk. As appetizer I ordered Ha Cao, Deep Fried Pork Dumplings served with mixed fish sauce. I also ordered their Goi Cuon Tom 2 Cuon, a shrimp, lettuce, and noddle rolled up with a rice paper, and served with peanut butter sauce. As the main course I ordered their Com Suon, Steamed Jasmine Rice with a Grilled Pork Chop. While ordering I talked with the server and he told me that this was a family owned and run business, together with the AA Asian Market that was inside the same building with an entrance from the restaurant. His mother seemed to be the cook, and his father in charge of running the Market. Through my experience I have found that this is very tipical in many ethnic groups restaurant businesses. The food all came out at once, even though I told my server that I would like my appetizers first. So I would recommend you order the appetizer first and after you're done eating it then order your main course, so the second doesn't get cold and you have more time to enjoy both while conversing with your guests. Everything was delicious: the dumplings, the pork, and the shrimp roll, although I found the rice paper a bit too thick and sticky, making it a bit difficult to handle. The sauces accompanying the food were also extremely good tasting. When I asked what they had for dessert, my server walked to the Market and brought me one of their popular desserts. Not knowing what it was, I ate it anyway. The sweet sauce was good but I didn't care much for the pieces of some type of pieces of a vegetable it had inside. In conclusion, I would definitely recommend this restaurant for a wonderful Vietnamese Cuisine dining experience. Both the food and the service were great. So much so that I feel in the process I got to learn more about their culture as well.

After being awarded the Triad Yelper of the Year 2024 Award at the Yelpies Award Ceremony last year, an event that honored the highest-performing Yelp Elites, I decided that this year, as an All-Star Yelp Elite, I not only wanted to be the first to discover new restaurants and bring them to the attention of the public, but also to uncover those found in hidden paths that for one reason or another have not reached the public in its totality. And Sugar Cube Cafe in Roanoke, Virginia, is the perfect example. This family-owned Bakery, Cafe, and Gift Shop is located in a small outdoor strip mall across from the Valley View Mall in Roanoke, Virginia. The owners are a husband and wife couple with a very enthusiastic family member who works there welcoming the customers, introducimg its products, and taking the customers orders. From the time I parked my car in the extensive parking lot next to their corner shop, a van parked next to me and it so happened to be the owner of the shop who is of Asian origin. When he saw I was headed the way of the shop, he introduced himself and gave me a warm welcome. Later inside I had the opportunity of meeting his wife and co-owner, who made my Boba Coffee that I ordered. When I entered the shop I was just expecting to find gourmet cupcakes, but what I found besides the wonderful cupcakes, were gourmet cheesecakes, macaroons, bubble coffee and tea, milkshakes, ice creams, mini pancakes, large cookies, and even Ramen Noodles and Udon, among other treats. The shop also had many stuffed animals and Asian dolls and posters and toys. I ordered a Midnight Magic Cupcake and a Boba Coffee with French Vanilla Cream. The Cupcake was $5.00 and the Boba Coffee was $10.00. The items here are not cheap, but they are definitely worth the money. I invite you to view my photographs and videos accompanying my review to get a better sense of the place and its products for sale there. It has a cozy atmosphere and friendly staff. And I highly recommend you give them a visit and support their business. You will be happy you did.

And Kind Brew Coffee and Tea House in Roanoke, Virginia, is a perfect example. As soon as I found out about about this very unique business with very noble goals, that grew out of the owners' mobile coffee shop and into the retail shop of their dreams, I drove up to the place but unfortunately found it closed. Understandably, I have discovered that oftentimes in the initial stage of new businesses, they tend to close early at times when the business is slow, and this was confirmed today when I returned and talked with the co-owner Kirsten, a very friendly, warm, and kind young lady, who together with her husband Matt, are making their dream come true, at a time in their lives that they are expecting a child in the beginning of December. Two very significant births in a very short period of time. The store front of their business looks like right out of a fairytale book. Their logo has a coffee cup with the smoke coming out of it turning into a heart. Kindness seems to be in the air once you enter the door of this house. And Kindness can be contagious, especially during the upcoming time of the year with Thanksgiving and Christmas just right around the corner. The beautiful hardwood floors of this coffee, tea, and gift shop lays the foundation for this warm and cozy place, where you feel at home from the time you walk in. Several customers came in while I was there and I was able to see how loyal customers were beginning to develop. When the time came to order, I ordered a 16oz Coffee Bubble Tea. It was amazingly delicious. I enjoyed drinking it and having the bobas pop in my mouth. They currently have some muffins and cookies in the display case, but they plan to have many more sweets in the future. For every $10 one spends, they have a tree planted. They also have a Loyalty Card program, and many other creative ideas. I invite you to view my photographs accompanying this review to get a better sense of the place and business. I highly recommend this place and encourage everyone to give them your wholehearted support.
