Anyway I met a friend for lunch and complimented his noticeably sharp fresh haircut, and he convinced me to go see his "hair wizard" Emi. I walked in fairly certain I was about to spend more money for the same haircut I get from Sportclips, but was pleasantly surprised at the whole experience. At the front I was greeted and checked in and immediately offered an ice cold beer which garners points in my book. Emi came over and introduced herself and showed me the changing room where you get to leave your shirt on a hanger and wear one of their t-shirts during the haircut so you don't leave being microneedled by tiny hair clippings. Haircut started with a detailed back and forth about my hair and what I was looking for which felt better than the usual "what you want" from the budget shops. Emi offered what she called a "moment of relaxation" where she used essential oil and gives you a shoulder and neck massage before starting the haircut. 10/10 highly recommend doing this it feels great and doesn't cost extra. The actual haircut was very good, like I said I've never really cared about how my hair looked as long as it's not in my face, but I was quite impressed. It was very sharp, technically perfect, and now I'm spoiled by this whole thing. I can't recommend Emi and this shop enough, every man should give this a shot, even if you're like i was and thought this kind of thing was unnecessary. I know the barbers rent their individual booths and don't set those studio prices, but $90 is a lot for a standard cut. Final Verdict: Even though the price is steep, Max does such a great job that I don't mind paying to see him. Anyways, the new stylist charged me $140, when I previously had gotten quoted for $70. Because of the extra $70 charge, I left a negative review and Alec had me come in for a redo on the house. I went in and saw Atlantis, who is very good. No complaints. So I schedule my next appointment with Michelle because she's also good and I get the $70 quote for all over hair color, but given that the last time I had her there was a surprise extra $70 charge, I reached out to her IG to confirm... and it was indeed a $140 charge. Upon learning this, I cancelled. This is a good salon with talented stylists but the price for all over hair color being at $140 is a tad high. I'll still come in for cuts, tints and updos.
