My family and I went here on Friday (May17th) for a Happy Hour while we had overnight trip in Vernon. None of us had been to a British pub before so it was a new experience dining here. Fast and courteous service. Calamari($8.95) and Poutine($8.95) were so delish. Food portion was big enough for 4 of us to share. Honey brown ale ($5.25) was smooth. Even non-drinker like my mom and myself enjoyed it after my dad took a sip. Interior looked outdated though. Although my family and I felt tired from the long trip, we had a great time relaxing and dining here. read more

Have eaten here a few times for lunch and have never been disappointed, great service, English style pub

1st time visitors for lunch. Love the medieval inn look. Someone in medieval garb should walk in. We had the beef dip and the 1516 on tap. Great beer and talk about fast good food. It must have been 10 minutes before our food appeared from order to table. Wow. Love the simple menu with classic pub food. Will definitely be back. read more

Was craving calamari and am from out of town. Did a quick search here on Yelp and found Sir Winstons. It's got an old pub feel to it. They have a happy hour everyday. $8 for their appy's. And they have daily specials too. Great website. Got the calamari and a house salad. The calamari was fried to perfection, not oily and not overdone. Came on seasoned...bland but a sprinkle of salt did the trick. The house salad came pre-tossed with a raspberry vinaigrette. It was a bit heavy on the dressing. Just coated. Edible but would've preferred dressing on the side. Service was good. One waitress for the happy hour crowd. She was pretty efficient and friendly. They have wing night on Thursday and Sunday (all day) - $0.25/each. I'd like to come back for that. :) Solid pub fare. Great specials. Will eat here again. read more

It's rare to find a pub with good food. I tried their red curry, as well as the chicken souvlaki, and both were delicious. Others at our table had burgers and sandwiches, and were happy with theirs. Excellent service, bad Wi-Fi, good beer. Being that it's around the block from the Okanagan Spring Brewery, we had the 1516, and it's was an excellent draft beer that complimented the food. I like this pub and it's probably Vernon's best run pub. I have yet to experience a bad meal, a dirty beer glass, a table of obnoxious youngsters (yes, I used the term youngsters), too loud music playing or creapers trying to pick you up. You'll feel comfortable at Sir Winston's....kinda like Norm at Cheers! The food is good pub food, no greasy teen-friendly triple cheese and bacon mammoth burgers.... they tend to favour British traditional dishes, pizzas, nacho share platters and some Greek specialties. (The owners had a Greek place at this location long ago, I think.) I've enjoyed a nice evening here once or twice with nice live music. (Acoustic guitar by Neil Fraser.) Call and see if they have any performers lined up. Hopefully they do that again. read more

I like this pub for what it is. A greasy, grimy joint to crawl up in and have a burger and brew. But this time to start out I ordered the yam fries to start with. I gotta say it was possibly the worst yam fries I've ever had to date. Dry, overcooked, almost burnt. And the chipotle dip was more like sugar/mayo dip with no chipotle to be found anywhere. Service was slow even though there was only 4 tables occupied in the house. Although usually service is timely here. Food in general though it's pretty good here at Sir Winston's. Pub fare is a bit on the pricey end of the spectrum. With your cheapest burger starting at $12 and the average sandwich @ $14, you would have to expect more from the joint. In the summers they have a rooftop patio which is quite good on its own but with blaring live acts performing within 10 feet of your table, it's not the greatest. read more

Terrible service waitress lacked any kind of etiquette or concern. First course for my wife and I. I had beef soup, had to send it back to be heated up, my wife's wings tasted like a wet dog had been lying on them, obviously second rate stuff. Second course of food, my pizza,pepperoni,tasted like the meat was going bad. Sent it back, the bar tender said everybody tasted it and it was bad. He said what can I do to make you happy,I said take it off the bill. Bill came and it was still on there. Went to the bar and he changed his story and that everybody said it was good. Never been treated so bad a anyplace. We sent back all of he pizza and 6 of the ten wings. Will never go back again nor recommend this establishment to anyone!!! This is my favorite pub in town. Feels like an old style European pub. The food is really good and the service is great. I like the selection of beers especially the on tap Guinness. The owners of this pub obviously care about the customer experience. read more

Fish and chips were on special yesterday. The chips looked like they were freezer-burned and 8 years old. The fish was over-battered and too oily. Service was laggy. They made caesars without hot sauce. read more

I have been a very long time customer of Sir Winstons and spend a considerable amount of money both on eat in and take out. Most pubs offer a take out menu as well as sit in service, however when I called to speak to a manager about being denied take out service I was told that they were short staffed and could not handle pub and take out. I then proceeded to walk over to the pub since it is across the street from where I work and to my surprise the pub was fairly empty. I was offered promptly a seat to eat in but no take out. Interesting that the pub was empty but they could not accommodate a take out order. Then when I questioned the manager on this I was quickly hung up on. Guess I will take my $100 or so I spend when I am here to another establishment. read more
