I told her early on that I prefer a very natural look and don't feel comfortable in heavy makeup -- and she absolutely delivered. My makeup felt light, effortless, and still completely me... just elevated. It was more beautiful than my daily look, but never overdone. I especially loved what she did with my eyes and lashes. They looked soft and natural, yet defined and stunning in photos. And my hair -- this was huge for me. I don't have a lot of hair and I didn't want to wear a wig on my wedding day. She respected that completely and somehow created beautiful, natural-looking volume that made me feel confident and radiant. I was honestly amazed at what she was able to do. She was also so open to feedback and small adjustments throughout the process, which made me feel really heard and comfortable. The main reason I did not go forward with booking with her was because of the haphazard nature of the hair part of the trial. Vian did not part my hair, comb my hair, or use hairspray, and just draped the headpiece on instead of tying it to the hair. She told me the trial is to only get an "idea" of what the hair would look like and made me undo the hairstyle after getting pics so she could get the hair piece and pins back. I was pretty stunned because I paid almost double to include hair in the trial rather than just makeup, so I was expecting to get more than just an "idea", I wanted to see how the hairstyle would stay throughout the day. The end result was messy hair (attached a photo) and my sister who was watching commented after that she could have done a better job. In addition, Vian told me I needed to get a haircut for curtain bangs before the wedding in order for the hairstyle to work. This felt like an excuse, I'd expect her to work with the hair I have and make the best hairstyle possible, not fault me for it not looking good. Afterwards I had a hair and makeup trial with a different artist for the exact same price. At this one, I got a full hairstyle with combing, hairspray, pins that stayed on for the full day and I wasn't told that I needed to cut my hair, and it looked much better. I ended up proceeding with booking this person for the wedding instead. For the makeup, later that day I noticed that there was a smudge on my eyebrow. I checked photos and it was there in the very first photo my sister took of me after the trial was completed. I was surprised Vian didn't notice and fix this and this made me question her makeup skills as well. Style wise the makeup didn't match what I had on my Pinterest board that I showed her -- those had softer, lighter colors but I was given a darker, higher contrast look. To be fair, she asked what lip color I wanted and I told her she could choose because I didn't know (not experienced with makeup). However, the second makeup artist was so much more thorough -- she looked through my Pinterest board and asked things like, "these are all warm toned but this one is cool toned -- do you want warm or cool toned" and was able to distinguish what I liked from that, and I ended up with a look I was much happier with. Perhaps Vian would work better for someone who has a strong idea of what they're looking for, versus someone completely new to makeup (me).

Her initial rate was $3000, nearly twice the other quotes I received. However, I loved Arianna's work and felt that the steep price point was worth it to ensure high-quality service far in advance. Two months after I signed the contract and paid the deposit, Arianna's assistant Annu emailed me that "Arianna is unfortunately unavailable for your date as she will be traveling that week for another engagement that was confirmed before your booking." I was frustrated and very disappointed. They said that as a substitute, I could work with a team member (Himani) for a nominal 10% discount. This felt completely inadequate given the inconvenience and late notice, and above all, the fact that I was stressed and wasting time dealing with something I thought I'd finished. Keep in mind that Arianna is the owner. Her business is not branded as an agency with multiple stylists. You're booking with Arianna, and I specifically booked based on her portfolio. Even if it was an agency, her rates (as the owner) would be higher than her team members'. When I asked for Himani's rates, they reiterated the total discount provided and said "the rates for our team artists have already been provided to you." I find this hard to believe, but their lack of transparent pricing online makes it hard to know. After weeks of back and forth to get even a slight additional discount, I asked them to just refund my deposit. Ultimately, price was not the deciding factor. I just did not comfortable working with them anymore, especially if something else went wrong in the future. I felt like I was asking for concessions despite the fact that the error was on their end. I understand that honest mistakes happen, but our exchanges made me start to doubt they had double-booked me by accident. It seemed more and more likely that a more lucrative client with a multiple-day wedding had come up. Arianna seems very skilled with hair and makeup. However, I'd caution that if something goes wrong with your booking, her team may not handle it professionally. That's just not something you want to risk with a bridal vendor. Re: owner's response: Arianna, I appreciate the response, but there were many chances to make it better. You did not communicate directly with me at any point, despite responding to my review within an hour of posting. I had to negotiate for additional discounts, they were not openly offered. And while I received my deposit back, I did not get a single response to my email to confirm this or close things out. I made the decision to post this review after a lot of thought. So I chose Hanna based on 1) the pictures of women here and on her site looked like actual, lovely women and not weird dolls and 2) 5-star reviews. My experience: My wedding was plagued with rather insensitive visiting in laws (example, showed up two hour late for our wedding breakfast, and then "joking" that I was rude for running out the door to get my nails done. Also texted us at 8:00 am the day AFTER our wedding - ummm, honeymoon anyone? to find out where we were going to meet them for breakfast...anyway). So unexpectedly, I was a bit stressed and a few minutes late coming back for my make up appointment by the time Hanna arrived (SHE was exactly on time). I had e-mailed some ideas to her previously and all of our communications were pleasant and prompt. But in person was even nicer. Instantly in her presence on that stupid stressful day I started to relax, she was calm, smiling and ready to work. Even though I made us start late (so sorry!!) she didn't give me any grief for it and got it all done on time. I needed that so much. And she's just a nice person. She kept chatting in a soft voice to my curls while she was pinning them up..."Okay curl, you tell me how you would like to sit, okay, like that? Oh you look nice now"...it was crazy soothing. In the end, I got so many compliments on my hair and makeup that I really should have taken some cards for her to hand out to the crowd. But most importantly, my groom, who always sees me sans makeup, really loved it. The look stayed put all night and the best part was that when I finally unpinned my hair, she had done something that made it look cute down too - so bonus, two more days of wedding hair awesomeness before I washed it out! The only thing I would have done differently would be to spring for the trial run, so that the day of my wedding I would have been excitedly anticipating the look, instead of being kind of worried it would be weird (it was so not weird!).

I will continue to tell people about her company and how amazing she is to work with. 16 days till the wedding and I don't have to stress about how my bridal party or myself will look and that's a fantastic feeling to have.

I suggest looking long and hard at the one star reviews. I was left looking like I was going to 90's prom and this is not an exaggeration - overly curled hair and very basic makeup. I felt like I had to micromanage the stylist and she asked few questions when we started about what I wanted. At one point I asked her to fix my eyeliner because it was smudged under my eye, so she fixed it and left another smudge while doing so. Her first attempt looked like it was drawn with crayon. I had sent them Pinterest boards prior and it looked nothing like it. Used really basic curling techniques I felt I could have done myself and many of the hair products were what I consider to be cheap drugstore brands - I was left with stiff, sad-looking hair with frizz. I wanted to cry when I saw it and deeply regretted not having just used my Airwrap and doing my makeup myself. My friend and I had to attempt to fix it ourselves. I think I had the worst hair in the room at my own wedding. Furthermore, shortly after writing a review, I received a cease & remove email from the salon threatening legal action and claiming false statements were made. I believe this shows a lot about the integrity of the company and am truly disappointed in my experience with them.

My experience was similar to the 1 star reviews below. Short version: Took my deposit then stopped communicating altogether for the past 4 months. Details: Had to reschedule my wedding to a new date due to COVID-19. I had already paid the deposit. Brooke was initially responsive and understanding, our communication was smooth. She confirmed that my deposit was non-refundable but that she could re-book me with a new deposit for my future date which she confirmed they would be able to do. I agreed and she said she would send me a new contract. I never got a contract. She stopped responding thereafter. No response to my three follow up emails or my two phone calls to her business in the subsequent four months. I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt -- busy with all the wedding date changes, , financially difficulties in light of COVID-19 -- maybe they had closed altogether! .... but then I saw that someone posted to their instagram account 5 days ago. Clearly she is not interested in working with me anymore. Would have been nice to get some communication back that they could not or would not be able to accommodate my wedding.

I love how my whole look came together. I wanted to have my hair up and out of the way but still show off my curls. I also wanted to make my eyes look big. She knew exactly what I was going for and delivered. Like many brides, I was sweating every little detail and wanted all of it to be perfect. Brooke was patient and kind the whole way through. She happily redid my braid and tweaked my eye makeup whenever I asked and didn't show a single sign of going nuts over my micromanaging :) She is AWESOME. My mom was super nervous and Brooke arranged a trial for her the same day as me and made sure we both had the same makeup and hair artist for the big day. Having that support made the whole day a lot less stressful. The biggest reason why I chose Brooke is because she didn't give me that "conveyor belt bride" feeling I got with all the other large onsite hair and makeup companies I was considering.
