I had a sweet solo experience here for dinner and a movie. I was staying next door at Five Pines so it was too easy to grab dinner and a movie. I thoroughly enjoyed Paddington and ordered their veggie pesto bowl $14 with a small bag of popcorn. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming and the theatre room was very clean. The small veggie rice pesto now was a little pricey for $14. The popcorn was delicious and the small bag was perfect. The only thing that seemed a little off was the flavor of the water- maybe that's the taste of Oregon water but it was tough to swallow... We are not movie people. So, when a movie caught our fancy, we looked for a theater and were disappointed by things like assigned seating. Then I found Sisters Movie House and Cafe. I was correct in assuming that a mid-week matinee would be a good time to go. The people at the counter were friendly and helpful. We bought too much popcorn and upgraded our tickets to Club Level seats. I do recommend Club Level seats. A man, that I assumed to be the owner, talked briefly about the movie, introduced us to the house dog, and warned us to protect our popcorn from the dog. Maybe I will start paying more attention to movies and return to Sisters Movie House. BTW, the cafe looked interesting. read more

This is an amazing theater. You would not expect to find one of this caliber in a town of 3,000 people! I particularly enjoy the theater owner giving the audience an overview and some interesting trivia about the movie. He does this in person giving the theater a homey feel. This place is so special! They previewed Dune 2 HERE so I was able to see the movie I've waited forever for see before opening weekend. The owner gives a thoughtful intro to the films and the place is very well run. Besides being the best movie house ever, it has great food and drinks. I may have found one of my all time favorite movie theaters and it is so conveniently located to my new residence. The location is easy get off highway 20 on the edge of Sisters and is a very unassuming looking building. Were it not for the painted on sign you may not know that a movie theater was located here. The interior is also not atypical of a big chain theater which only adds to the charm of the place. You can order bottled drinks to go with your popcorn and sweets but I also detected some signs of other food/drink items available. I need to go back many times to fully investigate and explore his spot. The staff were simply amazing, genuine down home friendliness that welcomes you with a smile and a thanks for coming. The actual theaters are small and have the feel of an old time movie house from my childhood and I really dig that. I will be back multiple times and I look forward to it! read more

Sisters is a charming town we visit often. Decided to see a movie one evening. Bought our tickets and sat down, really enjoyed the owner's intro to the theater, upcoming movies & film-what a special touch! Only in Sisters would you find such a warm up. Made our evening extra special and reminded me of some of the film clubs I've belonged to. Comfy chairs, great popcorn and a very nice clean theater, we'll definitely be back! There is nothing that compares to seeing movies on the big screen. We enjoyed every minute of our experience here. read more

Today my sister and I went to see the new Downton Abby film. I bought my tickets online and was charged a $3 fee for the transaction. We get to the theater and was told I needed to pay extra for premium seats which is any seat except the back row or front row. We didn't understand this protocol, so we sat in the fourth row The employee came and made us move to the back row. What kind of theater does this!! The movie theater is great. The seats are comfy and the screens are nice and big. Only complaint about the theater is that the walls are kind of thin so if there is a loud movie playing next door, you'll know. -2 stars because of the food. I really want to like this place but the food is a total pass. Boring burgers, sad rice bowls. They don't have a fryer so no fries. read more

What a fun little movie house. Right across the parking area from aa decent brewery and walking distance from the campground and park. Found, beer, wine, all available to you. Friendly and helpful l staff. Delivery of food & drink inside the theater would be a fun addition. One of my favorite things is the decor. Axes for door handles and gorgeous wood interior. I came here on a Friday to watch the new Downton Abbey movie and really had great experience! It's a very cute movie theater with super friendly staff! There was a little bit of a line to get the tickets, but for a Friday was really not bad. They have 3 different movies playing and seem to keep up with all the new release movies. For food and drinks they have a variety of different offerings including sandwiches pizza and alcohol. My only complaint would be that the seats in the movie theater aren't the most comfy. Other then that it was a very enjoyable experience. read more

When I wrote the review, Sisters Movie House WAS a MoviePass supported theater. My friend drove to Sisters Movie House from Redmond & I drove to Sisters Movie House from Bend. You are a MoviePass supported theater - and you posted a paper sign on the door stating you won't take MoviePass. Contact MoviePass & get your theater off the MoviePass app. so that Customers like my friend and myself don't drive from Redmond (friend) or Bend (myself) to see a movie, check into that movie on the app and then be told at the register you won't accept the form of payment! What you're doing is unethical. MoviePass does drive traffic to your theater - you're willing to benefit from their advertising & once you get their customers, you're not willing to take MoviePass at the register! read more

Upon entry...one might first think it's too small, but alas there are 4 screens here, all with Dolby Digital/DTS surround sound, and it's a comfortable space all around. The Owner Lisa Clausen does a superior job in retaining Current film, Indie & the Hollywood Biggies...with a few surprises every so often! You can sign up for their email list & you will be in the loop. Some very different & cool stuff goes down here at SMH. So? How many times have you EVER ordered food at a theater, and been able to eat it ringside? Well good news...you can here. From Burgers to Wraps to Pizza and Salads, the food is fresh, great tasting (delish) and easy on the wallet. Is your movie rating is PG13, cool. If your movie is rated "R", good news...you will be able to enjoy a tasty BBC micro brew or house poured Vino, white or red, and consume it while watching your movie. **** Adults rejoice!!! How cool is that???**** This Movie House is a Locals favorite year round, and gathering place for the whole community, as Lisa and Crew takes great care in making everyone feel at home. You will also notice that Sisters local Art adorns the walls as does the Old West Spirit with neat touches everywhere. Now, I must confess...if some you have ever been annoyed by poor mannered peeps who text, answer cell phones (wtf?) eat like pigs...etc? You wont find that at our quaint lil Movie House. So in your travels around Central Oregon, Locals and Tourists alike, make sure you make a date with Sisters Movie House...you will be very glad you did. There are larger towns in Central Oregon without a movie theater. Sisters is lucky enough to not only have a theater, but a good one at that. The Movie House is nicely located on the Bend side of town and across the parking lot from the Three Creeks Brewery. It has four theaters - two larger ones and two smaller. Food, drink, and snack selections are pretty good and prices for their pizza, burgers, wraps, and sandwiches are very responsibly priced, especially when compared to other businesses in Sisters as well as to Regal Cinemas in Bend. The Movie House employees are polite and friendly. Seems like its getting more rare these days, even in Sisters, but you will still get service with a smile here. The projectionist who comes in just before the movie starts and introduces his or herself and welcomes you to the theater is a nice touch. If I was to improve one thing, it would be the sound within the theaters. I have very good hearing, but sometimes I struggle with hearing dialogue because it seems like the majority of the volume comes from the front of the theater as opposed to all around you. read more

Just ate lunch at Three Creeks. Good food. Nice staff. Walked out to find a truck parked in the ease of access space beside our van. Couple was loading trash into the back of it. When we said it was illegal, they yelled over and over that it was fine because they owned the Sisters Movie House. I am utterly disgusted that business owners would do this. read more

This place is so adorable; everyone should come here for movies. It's a small theater with a max of four screenings. When you walk in, you order your food and tickets at the same counter. Prices are super reasonable and they serve alcohol/full food options in addition to normal movie fare like candy and popcorn. The details are super cute. There's art on the walls, the theater is shaped like a barn, if you order food they give you an animal shaped stick with a number on it (they use this to bring your food to you in the theater when it's finished). They only show new screenings and it's right next to Three Creeks Brewing if you want a pre/post movie bite. I wish I lived closer. This would be my weekend movie spot. read more

This is my second time viewing a movie here. Years ago we saw "The Producers" when this was the only place still showing it. So maybe 2006? We liked the hometown feel of the place then and always thought that if we wanted to make the drive, the Sisters Movie House would always be a great option. Fast forward to last Saturday night (4-30-11) and our kids want to see "Source Code". Sisters Movie House was the only one still showing it at a time we could coordinate between the families. Combined with Three Creeks Brewing right across the parking lot, it was a quick decision to go this route and have a great time with family and friends. The Sisters Movie House is clean, friendly and affordable. They show first run movies and I believe they are even a buck or two cheaper than Regal in Bend. I do know they offer student / youth discounts. I can't really improve on Kenneth N.'s review. His really says it all. Way to go, Kenneth! One thing I did appreciate: Even though we just ate at Three Creeks, who can resist the temptation of freshly popped popcorn? Certainly not I.... I tried. I even took my seat in the theater. But in less than two minutes I was out and in line. Not only were the prices more reasonable than Regal, but they offered "share" bags for the popcorn! I bought one big enough to share with the other dad in our party and dutifully poured half into a bag for him. Back in the theater, I was happy as clam enjoying a first run flick in this down home, yet top notch little movieplex. Fun, fun, fun. I wouldn't normally drive all the way from Bend to Sisters just to see a movie here that is offered in Bend....but....sometimes the moon and stars align and I would enjoy a movie here without question. Had a good time with my family here tonight. Just watched Maze Runners! Comfy place and clean...not crowded or dirty the way Regal Old Mill sometimes feels like. We debated ordering food here only because it seemed a bit pricey, and we weren't sure of the quality. .... But decided to go with the whole " fun movie night and dinner" theme. Glad we did because everything tasted good and fresh. Had the chicken Caesar wrap...the veggie panini. .and a bacon cheeseburger between the 4 of us. Had a good time! When we want to watch a movie -- we avoid the Regal in Bend Oregon (not because we don't like them) because we LOVE the Sisters Movie House. Our last visit was just as great as last. -- Short lines, great movie selection and small venues with great chairs! The last time we had a so so meal at the new Three Creeks Brewery next door but have eating "in" at the movie house during the movie. Wine, beer, good sandwiches etc. Yes they sell somewhat expensive popcorn but no more than at Regal and I like their brown bag approach. Only 4 stars as sometimes we freeze during the movie but have learned to bring a jacket. We'll be back and back and back. Only a 25 minute drive from Bend! read more

We saw SING here and sat in the first row due to space but turned out was a big hit with the kiddos. They serve food and drinks too. (The ax door handles remind me of a scene from "The Shining". Of course a town as quaint as Sisters would also have a quaint and charming movie house. Located on the east side of town next to Three Creeks Brewing, the movie house is in a cute barn building. They show second run or older movies in small theaters that still have comfy seating and great sound. Concessions sells the standard fare, as well as some food items, kombuchas, beer and wine. They sweetly introduce each movie in person, and give away leftover popcorn in to-go bags at the end of the night. Definitely a great spot for a date night. read more

We've been residents of Sisters for several months now and love living within walking distance of this theater. I agree with one of the reviewers that this place is a gem. A couple of more youthful looking people complained that they were hassled by management for watching R rated movies. That's pretty strange if that's the case. No problem for us retirees however! We too enjoy the staff introductions to movies although the last few times we've been there it hasn't happened. My only complaint is that I have to remember to get there early enough so I'm not caught in line when my movie starts. I would love to see separate lines for food/drink orders and just plain movie tickets. read more

First disgusting rodeo then pictures in the gas station of hunters then we were just accosted in the movie theatre by the manager when my two sons aged 18 and 20 were there watching train wreck and the manager came in to tell us it was too raunchy...
