The Tower is a Bend institution and it's kind of fun seeing the iconic tower rising skyward in vintage photos of downtown. Inside, you'll find the theater holds its own as a city treasure. It's a pleasure just to be in the building. But you're there to see an event, right? Tower's music and lecture calendar is always packed with interesting events and the prices are reasonable. - Snacks and beer/wine are available. - Acoustics are good. - Seats are comfortable although they do lack cup holders. - People running the place are unfailingly courteous and personable. This is a very nice venue.It is a old fixed up theatre with a balcony.Their are no lousy seats here.I have seen quite a few rock concerts here and the sound is amazing.All the people who work there are very nice too.I think it is one of the best places in Bend to see music. read more

I've supported dozens of charities at the tower theater in my years but unfortunately I will never return ever again. I have Never in my 40 years felt like a 2nd class citizen until 1/12/22. I was denied access because Because I am not vaccinated and couldn't get a test in town to prove I was not or a sick or a contagious person. I remember learning about the Purple Triangle and how it developed. It started with restrictions and shaming. Never been so shamed in my life! read more

Made our first visit to the Tower. What a great venue. Small, nicely decorated, and well lit.set up with a stage for live performances, or a screen for video. Decent leg room and comfortable seats. The snack bar offers popcorn as well as the usual candies, soft drinks, bottled water, beer and wine. Comfy seats with good legroom. Parking is a chore because they're downtown and don't have a parking lot. Street parking only. There are lots of good restaurants within waljing distance. Lots of volunteer staff to help you get seated and find your way around. read more

BEAUTIFUL! I am a huge sucker for neon lights, and my gosh this place has some awesome neon lights. One of the most aesthetically pleasing buildings in Oregon. It's on a cute, clean street in town, and there's plenty to do around there. If you go to a daytime show, I would definitely recommend coming back at night just to see the lights. The theater itself is nice and homely, but doesn't feel small. The neon lights outside are also really nice and retro. I was fortunate to have done a show here, and the staff was very helpful in finding us space to store things, as well as helping with acoustics and blocking. Loved every minute of it. The Tower theater, a Bend at landmark steeped in history and a beautiful location hosting ferry is Fars of entertainment throughout the year. This theater is richly decorate it it is a beautiful location in its own right let alone a spot that host various acts and or shows that will surely please you and your family. The interior of the location is a good blend of modern as well as the cord that will take you back to yesteryear. They've done a fantastic job with the remodel at this location that was done some years back as it really does retain that old world feel are you don't often find left standing These days let alone still being functional. The photos on their yelp site can attest to the beauty of the spot and the staff is also very pleasant. I had to pleasure to attend a couple of events here and do you plan to increase that number by a great many over the rest of my time living in the area. read more

The retro sign in front of this old theater has caught my attention over the years. I often wondered what the inside of this 1940's theater looked like. This past Friday night, I wondered no more, as I was awarded two free tickets from a Yelp talk thread to attend a live music show. I went to pick up my tickets at will call, and even though my name wasn't in the system, the lady who helped me made it happen. She was very sweet. The inside has been lovingly restored to its former glory. The lobby has a concession stand that serves soda, beer, wine, and random snacks. They had vegan cookies! The auditorium was grand in style, quaint in size. Since we arrived early, I snagged box seats in the balcony upstairs. We had a perfect view with nobody to obstruct our view. I felt slightly regal up there. The seats were comfy and ushers were helpful. The theater reminds me of my favorite non-profit theater in Portland, The Hollywood. If I lived in Bend, I'd become a member, and take advantage of the talent that moves through town. read more

We saw Boogie Nights on Saturday and was very disappointed. We, two couples left at intermission. They sang mostly 80's music including Mama Mia which will be at The Tower soon. The advertising showed 70's dancing which there was none. The announcer had on a terrible costume and we wondered was there no leisure suits available at the costume shop? I don't usually write reviews as The Tower has spectacular shows so was disappointed we wasted our money on this production. Should have had some leisure suits and hot pants and sang only 70's music. It is a great place to see a show. We don't usually write reviews but we felt our money was wasted on this production. I thought I was at a high school production. The Tower Theatre has been in my life since childhood. I remember seeing movies here with my folks and friends until it closed. We are so lucky to still have this gem in town! Not only is it a historical landmark, the renovated interior is beautiful as well as comfortable. There really isn't a bad seat in the house. Over the past few years I have attended multiple conferences, comedy shows, and concerts here and I am always happy! The staff is very professional and courteous. The seats are comfortable although a little narrow for people with wide shoulders. Both levels of seating are pretty comfy. The box seat areas have straight backed chairs which are less comfortable. The sound system is plenty for this small venue. I was a little hard of hearing after the Buckethead show last weekend! The concessons offer traditional movie fare as well as beer, wine and coffee. There are many great shows here throughout the year! I highly recommend attending a few. read more

Absolutely fantastic theater. I have performed here, and been here as an audience member. As a performer, it has good sound, fantastic lighting for it's size, and it's newly fixed up. As an audience member, the seats are comfy, the have beer and such outside before you come in and at intermission. Don't sit too close up. I'd say the sweet spot is about 9-15 rows back mid center right. But I'm an audio geek. read more

What a great venue!! I don't think there is a bad seat in the place. The seats are comfy and the staff is super friendly. Beer and cider are priced average. Might be nice if they had more women's bathrooms. I recently attended the Bend Follies that raises money for the nonprofit Tower. They also sell several different memberships that all offer advance notice of events. Overall, I am excited to go see more things here. read more

It's an attractive venue but I was not impressed with the sound. Heard "Tower of Power" there on Friday, Oct.21, 2011. The band was in top form, as they always are but the sound was muddy at least from where I was sitting in Row J. Went up front to dance as well and the sound was bad there too. No definition between the instruments, couldn't hear the bass, the killer tenor solos were really hard to hear. I've heard TOP in many venues over the years, been a fan since 1969. If I was TOP, I wouldn't play the Tower Theatre again. read more

We took a chance and bought tickets for the Todd Haaby CD release concert. The theater is quaint. You can tell it's an older theater, but since we never saw it before this trip, I cannot comment or compare how it was previously. We sat approximately 15 rows back (just about perfect). I would be amazed if there was a bad seat in the house. The theater is pretty small, but not too intimate. The seats are comfortable and the theater is very clean, including the restrooms. They served wine, beer, nonalcoholic beverages and popcorn. You could even take the refreshments into the theater. This was a new concept to me since the theaters in Seattle make you down them before going back in. The staff was very pleasant and although the theater is small, they were on hand to show everyone where their seats were, just as in the larger and more elegant venues. Update: Just an FYI - we were at the Tower Theater for the PDXchange concert featuring All You All (yuck), Talkdemonic (sorta yuck) and Helio Sequence (pretty good). I actually had to plug my ears because the feedback, tinny sound and all around sound was horrible. So, as a lesson, I suppose, be ready for either good or bad. A plush, intimate venue with awesome sound quality and a great view from every seat. Great views of the bands gear and equipment can be had from the balcony front row. Anywhere in the center of the main floor seating cannot be beat. It is no wonder why the greats such as Al DiMeola and Dweezil Zappa, amongst others have chosen to come to Bend and perform there. The seats are very comfortable for longer performances and the staff is very polite. Try to avoid the long bathroom lines during the intermissions but the beer and wines are Oregons finest! read more

Not one to be super critical and I've always enjoyed old restored theaters like this, but there is on big problem. They have NO backup manual system for their automated ticket sales at the box office. Been trying for THREE days to get tickets for Sherpa Cinemas "Into the Mind" ski movie premier at the box office for $13 dollars (because it's $16 online) and their system has been down. Nothing manual in place. This is pretty ridiculous. The ladies with whom I've spoken have been really pleasant, but all they could say was, "Keep checking back, and check the online system as well" (which also was not working from what I gathered). I broke down this morning and paid the $16 for an online ticket, but I'm still annoyed. read more
