The Glass Rabbit has quality. Everything from French soap, Polish pottery to the finest high quality Native American jewelry is displayed artistically for a visual feast. Suzanne says she personally choses each card that's displayed. Never found so many interesting greeting cards in one place. Baby gift for a newborn? Got it! Anniversary gift for my husband? Got it! They offered stamps! My favorite thing about this place was the native American pottery that they had at the front window display. It's exquisite examples of Native American design, but it seems a bit out of place at this gift shop where many of the goods are made in China, labeled with "Yellowstone" or "Wyoming." This place also has a formidable knife / sword shop in the back. Need a ninja blade? Throwing knives? Switchblades? They've got them all. There's enough knives here to become a ginsu chef. They have a lot of encased meats, things that you don't necessarily need an ice chest to get home, so they make great gifts. They have a sampling station right in the center where you can get loaded up on whatever they're dishing out. Highly recommend. They'll chat you up on where the stuff is from and why it's WY significant. People in Wyoming sure seem to like huckleberries, and this is a great place to stock up on huckleberry flavored everything. It's hard to categorize this place. It's almost like a general store and has a little of something…read moreof everything. There are toys, games, some clothes, touristy gifts, candy, jewelry, and some camping-related items, a never-used thermos or two, rain ponchos, etc. Much of the inventory on the non-jewelry and non-food items, were in original packaging and some were even a trip down memory lane just seeing them. I don't know where the owners found them. In the back corner on the lower shelf were typewriters -- refurbished electric typewriters ideal for those who want to be off-line. It was odd, but given the other things here, maybe not so odd. They don't seem to have a website, posted hours (roughly between 8-5), or a phone number. They aren't even located within town, but rather a couple of miles outside of Bridger. The building has a sign, but it's the yellow banners right off the highway that are the markers for where you need to turn. The owner and his wife put together the collection of oddities here and if you're missing something, or not missing something and just want to see or perhaps find something different, this is the place.

We had spent the day in Yellowstone, and we were headed to Cody for our hotel. I had read about the…read moredam online and wanted to make a stop. When you pull into the parking lot, they have a volunteer that picks you up in a golf cart to shuttle you to the front door. The day that we were there, a storm was moving in, and the winds were gusting something fierce! We really appreciated the ride to the center. Once inside, there is a very informative video that you can watch that explains all the trials and tribulations that they went through to build this dam. It's a very incredible story and worth the watch. You can then walk out on the top of the dam and look over both sides. As I said, the day we were there, it was super windy, so we were half afraid we were going to be blown over the top! But it was a very cool stop, and I'm glad we did it. Definitely make the stop if you're in the area!
