Just wanted to let everyone know, how AMAZING this group is! Our Kat (Katerina) is a 70 lbs golden retriever that when she sees something she goes full throttle. At first, I was a little apprehensive about leaving her for a full week. My visions of the ASPCA commercial were playing in the back of my head. But when we arrived, Chris, Ryan (our trainer), and Bill were eagerly awaiting our arrival. I voiced my concerns; they gave me a tour of the kennel - none of the dogs were crying or barking. All were well behaved. It didn't smell like a kennel, it had A/C. When they stay overnight, your suppose to pack their food in individual servings. They asked if they don't eat, would it be ok, if they added broth or chicken pieces to their meals. Feeling that they were really concerned about our pets well being, I had no hesitation of leaving our baby girl with them. After a week apart, she was so excited to see us. I learned the rules, and she has been so great, no more pulling and makes eye contact with us anxiously awaiting direction! We returned two weeks later for a refresher (mainly on me). We had Michael work with our two Japanese Chins, and he was fantastic! I appreciated his low-pressure and informative sales process, so we decided to move forward. He had a very calming effect on the dogs. I snuck some peaks out the window and I could see him making progress with the dogs, and the dogs making progress trusting him. We spent a solid two hours on my training and the hand-off, and it has gone really well. We boarded our dog, Peppa for a week at Sit means Sit. Before, it seemed impossible to control her reactivity, and get her to listen. Last January I adopted my dog Bella. Making an orientation appointment for our 6wk old Malinois/Shepherd/Husky mix puppy was quick and easy. We met with JD who was personable, kind, and informative. With our dog being so young he suggested she attend the puppy class that was for free on Saturday mornings from 9-10a until she was older and able to train. We attended that class for about 10 weeks and decided that she responded to the center and trainers so well and we were ready to sign up. We were able to request Chris a trainer that we had met a few times in puppy class. We really loved his training style and his love for the puppies. We decided to do the board and train and Chris gave us video and text updates throughout the process. When he brought her back to us she was more grown up and listened so well. We took our 4-year-old Athena (pitbull mix) to Sit Means Sit. Before attending the 10-day boarding Athena was super reactive to other dogs and had a hard time walking on a leash, staying focused, and completing commands. Athena finished her boarding in Early December and we have seen a great improvement. She is way better around other dogs and on walks. She is improving in following commands and walking on a leash. She's been doing great in our one-on-one training and moving on to groups soon! The staff have been amazing. Super nice, patient, and super accommodating. I cant say enough how thankful I am for this place. I have a now 1 year old American Bully/ pittie who is 110 lbs!! I was becoming more and more frustrated because with the puppy energy level and his strength/ weight, I couldn't take him on successful walks. He was dragging me around like a rag doll. Meeting people and other dogs were scary because he would jump all over them and knock them over. He is the sweetest boy but having 100 pound pittie running toward you could be scary. After taking him to sit means sit, I've been able to take him everywhere. THIS is a different dog!! he was in the ten-day boarding program, and I received videos almost every day of his progress, and even after day one I saw alot of progress. To see him walk, side-by-side with his trainer Bryden blew my mind!! After a week he was off leash at a park! When we walk, he walks on my left side and at my pace. Earlier this month I scheduled a consultation for my dog. I talked on the phone to Nan, who was extremely helpful, and she helped me set an appointment so both my boyfriend and I could be present for the consultation. I was scheduled for an at home consultation on Tuesday Oct 22, and received my confirmation text from Alex on Oct 20. On Tuesday night, my appointment time came and went with a no call no show. We called and were told "Oh I don't normally do home consultations my boss has been scheduling me." They did try to reschedule our consultation during the phone call, but we will take our business elsewhere. Super bummed; the Yelp reviews I had seen previously were very positive. I learned about the professionals at sit means sit from a co-worker. After seeing the progress from her dogs behavior I decided to reach out and schedule a consultation. I got to meet with Bryden and he made myself and my dog, Brother, feel comfortable and educated on the process. I chose to sign Brother up for the 20 day board and train program. Brother was a 1 y/o GSD that can only be described as a velociraptor at the time. Bryden worked with him incredibly closely and gave me video updates frequently. I could not believe what I was seeing after only a couple days of him beginning his training. By the time Bryden dropped Brother off, he was the dog that he was always meant to be! Even at that young age of 1, his focus and temperament was exactly what I was hoping for. Bryden spent a good period with us when he dropped Brother off to show us the equipment and commands. Brother was responding to my commands within moments. I work in the medical field and Brother comes to work as a support to my patients. He understand the difference between work and play mode. Have you made a decent sized purchase and a few days later the salesperson followed up to ask how things are, how you like it, any questions, etc? It's rare. We sent our 7 month old pup, River, in for training. When she came home she was amazing. All of the basic commands were golden! We couldn't be more excited. We can go on walks now, she comes to our commands, she stays, and she's SO happy. On top of this our trainer, Cori, has called several times checking in. We've had questions and she gladly answers, it's amazing. And apparently we can have 1 hour sessions forever (even though they book out a week or 2). It's amazing. They have also instructed us how to continue her training. We will be starting group training soon, which will only make her better. Struggled for 10 months with my rescue dog that pulled on the leash, howled relentlessly, chewed through everything, counter surfed, jumped on visitors, and ran the opposite direction when called to come back. After months of assistance from friends, family, the internet, etc.. I was at a breaking point with my dog. After being referred by multiple friends, I decided to do the 12 day board and train. After only 12 days with his trainer, Bryden, he came back a changed dog (in all the best ways). Being a stubborn hound that gets distracted by a potential squirrel 3 miles away, I was shocked to see how well Bryden was able to get Diesel to follow commands (sit, place, come, down, off, quiet) just after less than two weeks. Before SMS, I didn't walk my dog but he walked me, and now he stays at my side....OFF LEASH! Amazing. Bryden was very respectful, knowledgeable and patient. Our two dogs (11 months old) went to the 5 day board and train. One had Cori and the other had Bryan. Both dogs were very timid, difficult to walk because of pulling and barking. They are good sweet dogs but needed help with obedience. After the 5 days they came home and have a great foundation. We had our first one hour private lesson with each dog to now build our confidence. Cori and Bryan did a great job working with us. My 3rd dog, Duke, did the 10 day course and is a very energetic Saint Bernard/Lab mix. He came back a different dog and made amazing progress.
