Best little hidden gem!! I come here several times a week for various items including fresh spring rolls, pork belly, egg rolls .... It's an Asian market with a Laotion restaurant in the back. Everything I have had is amazing and they make everything from scratch! Tried a new thing today at my favorite little Laotian gem - banquan It's a cross between a dumpling/ crepe stuffed with ground pork , mushrooms and green onion. I mix up a sauce with Soy, Chili oil and sesame oil and drizzle over the top. OMG - they are the best!!! Today I had fresh rolls and chicken wing and both were absolutely delicious. They have the friendly service and the little shop appears well maintained and orderly. Had a fabulous lunch here on a family road trip a little while back. The man working was incredibly kind and helpful in ordering, and we ended up ordered the chicken laab (sour), chicken fried rice, vegetable fried rice, and pad Thai. All of them were phenomenal, and the pad Thai was much more flavorful than any other I had, the laab was light and filling, and the fried rice was incredible. HIGHLY recommend! read more

This is by far my favorite Asian market in Middle Tennessee. Though it's small they ALWAYS have what I am looking for. The produce is fresh, the service is friendly, and I will often drive an extra 10-15 minutes from Murfreesboro to Smyrna even though there are many Asian markets in the Boro, just because I know I'll get what I want here. The real secret gem is the restaurant in the back. They have some great Pho, spring rolls, Lao sausage, and all kinds of other goodies. I love this place!!! And they have become like family. I walked in because I was in the mood for some food that was different. It's a market. The counter person was absorbed in her newspaper. She didn't even look up when I asked if the deli was in the back. She just said yes. I walked back to where there were obvious chairs and tables. The place looked good. Lots of delicious stuff on the menu. The problem is, I sat around for more than 7 minutes and was acknowledged by no one. The time was 14h30. Cooking was going on. Maybe she was making a pickup order. I was tired of waiting and left. The market looks like there was lots to offer. I would like the opportunity to return and actually be able to eat here and then revise my review but the lack of even being acknowledged for nearly ten minutes made it impossible to dine here today. EDIT: 26/01/15 The owner contacted me via yelp and offered a meal on the house on my return visit in order to make things right. I find this very humble and admirable. I will be fair and not accept the free meal but also give them praise for making an effort. Until my return visit, I will keep the rating the same but will at least acknowledge their effort here in this review. EDIT: 23/04/15 I was going to be working in the area and I had some free time so I thought I would give it another shot. This time was a different experience. I walked in and was greeted by the person at the front register of the market. I walked back and was greeted by a friendly man. I sat down and looked through the menu. I ordered a Thai tea which is always a little too sweet for me but a nice treat. I never really like sweet drinks but it was delicious. I ordered the Basil Stir-fry. The food was immediately cooked. The man asked if I wanted to try some beef livers. I took a bite. I secretly stuck the rest in a napkin, Its not for me. I never really did like liver. But the gesture was nice. The food came out very quickly. It was really delicious. I topped it off with "Golden Mountain Seasoning sauce" which was wonderful on my rice! I cleaned my plate. Great flavor and they had lots of sauces and spices on the table to use. I will return! read more

Somewhat heavier on the dry and frozen goods, although some of the frozen goods (sausage, red ginger) seem to be prepared and packaged in the store. There is a larger variety of Chinese food items at this store than most of the Asian food stores in the area. There is a small restaurant area at the back of the store where they sell dishes from a limited menu of popular Thai dishes (Pad Thai etc). They also sell a variety of bubble tea drinks. read more

Had a craving for Pho and went based on other recommendations/reviews here; wasn't first choice, but glad I had to go :) The chef was super friendly and had great personality; encouraged me to try the broth first before adding spices/hot sauce. Really liked this, as the broth is the most important part of the dish, I think. The Pho choices were limited; I had the beef slices/meatball option. Meatballs were good, but a little overwhelming with spice. He definitely did not skimp on the meat, as many places I've been do. Would have preferred to have had a tofu option, but very pleased with my choice. Would like to return as there are Thai and Laotian dishes that look delicious. Went strolling briefly through the store and found a lot of interesting items; will return to purchase some things in the near future. read more

Only Asian market I've found so far in the Nashville area that carries the fish sauce brand that I use (Flying Lion), so that's an automatic positive rating. The owners are also very nice, and they serve a full menu as well as being a small market. Their boba "slushies" aren't that great (you shouldn't put boba in slushies anyway because it makes the balls hard), but the food is decent. read more

Love this place. I make Ramen about once a month and I can always get my fresh ingredients there. Enoki mushrooms, ginger, cilantro and pork belly. The food they offer is really good too. The lemongrass sausage is delicious. I bought it frozen twice and serve it even for breakfast! The lady that works there is very nice too. Highly recommend Sitane. read more
