Arrived in the food lion parking lot, the neon sign was out, and as a result it was unclear if they were open. But they were open. The restaurant is small and humble and as we walked through the door we were welcomed with a warm greeting. As we looked at the menu, I decided to go with the orange chicken with a side of fried rice and egg drop soup. My wife ordered curry chicken with lo mein and hot an sour soup. We also chose to throw in a helping of crab rangoons to share, why not? We were told it would be about 15 minutes until our food was prepared. While we were waiting the sound of the grill and knives chopping was clear as day! The lady at the counter quickly and efficiently taking orders of soon to be customers over the phone. Our food was ready well within the time quoted! As we drove home the car was filled with the bellowing aroma of what we would soon get to enjoy. After inspecting our food we observed that there was no cutlery included in the packaging. Soon after, my wife notified me that her curry chicken was exceedingly pale, with little to no curry detected. As she dived into her first bites of food, my wife was just as unimpressed with the flavor as she was the appearance of the chicken. There was more vegetables than chicken, probably only about 8 bites of chicken here. The lo mein was the only saving grace for this dish. She gave it a chance, but wouldn't order the curry chicken again, and wound up eating my orange chicken instead. Although it was served hot, the flavor just simply wasn't there - 4/10. My first bites of the orange chicken had decent flavor, although I would have preferred more of an orange flavor to pop out. Good crunchy consistency though. The fried rice was your average fried rice, however lacking in seasoning, it holds it own. Would order the orange chicken again, but not the fried rice - 6.5/10. As my wife and I moved onto the crab rangoons, they were passable Chinese take out rangoons. The cream cheese flavor was there. However, the crab must've not got the memo, it was undetectable. -6/10 Onto the egg drop soup. Yep, I'm going to give it to them on this one, it's satisfying. A good yolky consistency that dissolves in the mouth. Nice and warm and worth the price. A perfect example of egg drop soup. Would definitely order again. A fair 8/10. My wife needs something to wash out the flavor of the nonexistent curry dish, so in comes the hot and sour soup. It's hot, it's sour, it's... DELICIOUS. Thankfully she enjoyed something from this dinner otherwise I'd be hearing about it all night. She will order again and gives an approving 8/10. Overall, Song Da works in a pinch. Quick service, hot food, average taste - to be expected from your run of the mill fast food Chinese. Try the soup, you won't regret!

The food never disappoints! The General Tso's is perfectly crispy, coated in just the right amount of thick, flavorful sauce, and served with some fresh broccoli. If you like heat, their extra spicy option delivers just the right kick. Don't expect much in terms of ambiance--most people grab their food to go--but what they lack in dine-in atmosphere, they make up for with fast service and consistently great food. Plus, parking is never an issue since it's in a busy strip mall near Kroger off Sam Ridley. If you're craving solid Chinese takeout, definitely give them a try. You won't be disappointed!

I ordered the orange chicken lunch special along with a small shrimp fried rice. The orange chicken was really good, but the fried rice was actually the highlight for me. This is probably the first Chinese restaurant I've had in the area that serves the kind of fried rice I prefer, rather than the yellow rice that seems to be common at many of the Chinese spots around here. The shrimp fried rice had good flavor, although I definitely would have liked to see more shrimp in it. Still, it was enjoyable and paired really well with the orange chicken. The service was exceptional and a relatively shorty wait time. Overall, I had a great experience and would definitely come back to try more of the menu items.

"It's nine o'clock on a Saturday!" Wait! What?...oh..."It's one o'clock on a Saturday!" Time flies…read morewhen you're cleaning the house... Saturday afternoon and I have been cleaning house for about 5 hours - don't judge. Started getting hungry and there was not a whole lot to choose from in the pantry or fridge - couldn't make myself eat the week old sub sandwich leftovers or overcooked chicken kabobs from last Thursday. I was thinking about calling another Chinese take-out we frequently visit, but I have gotten kind of tired of their flavors and the questionable quality of the food - used to be our go-to. Smyrna's China Tokyo only has 5 reviews - this is number 6, but I guess you could add that up yourself. I started to phone it in, but - how do I say this - I don't have much luck over the phone with oriental people. At least at the restaurant I can point. Plus they always seemed rushed - "What else!" OK! - What else!" OK! What else!"That all? - 20 minutes!" I got the Garlic Chicken with fried rice and eggroll and the wife got General Tso with white rice and eggroll. When I first opened the carton my first thought was "Wow, this looks fresh!" I know some things are held over a steam table like the rice, but the entrée was obviously just cooked. I had never had garlic chicken and was very pleased with the flavors. I realize in a taste test you probably could not tell the difference in flavors from one dish to the next. This tasted very similar to King Pao chicken I have had at other places. My wife really liked her General Tso - much better than the heavily breaded version at our other go-to place. I was planning on eating half and having the rest for dinner - well let's just say I had to have something else for dinner. At the other place - when we get 2 lunches - it costs over $15. They are $2.00 more per meal, but you do get those handy little plastic to-go containers for storing left-overs in the fridge. The total cost for two lunches was about $10.50 and that included tax. They even have certain lunches for $3.99! I wanted to have it again the next day, but they are closed Sundays. During a subsequent visit I was paying with my debit card. What is apparently the owners children were doing homework and helping out. This pint size little cutie who could not even see over the front counter or be more than 6 years old walks over and runs my card! I keep waiting for mom to come from the back and take it from her, but she's like, "You sign her please sir!"

Upon arriving to my vehicle, I immediately started to dig in. The chicken satay was nice and hot and tasted very good. The fresh rolls were a little larger than most I've purchased in the past and they were definitely a hit. The peanut sauce added a perfect balance to this light dish. I stopped by to order takeout since it's close to my house and I was craving something spicy. I ordered the papaya salad combo with chicken wings and sticky rice. The papaya salad was a level 5 spicy and customized to my liking, with a balance of heat and sweetness. It was delicious, especially compared to their competitor near Stonecrest. The chicken wings were fried to a darker color, likely due to the use of oyster sauce, but they were flavorful and crispy. I'd recommend dining in if you have time--the bathrooms were well-lit and clean. When I arrived around 2 PM, I had missed the lunch rush, so it wasn't busy. If you do eat there, take some time to browse the market while you wait. They have a great selection of fresh fruits, vegetables, household items, and frozen goods like meatballs.
