Fantastic little place hidden away toward the back of a strip mall. The sign you see from the road simply says "Thai Food", love it. I tried the Chicken Pad Thai level 5 spicy and the Crispy Spring Rolls. The spring rolls did not disappoint! Super crispy and the dipping sauce was a delicious blend of hot sweet and sour. The Pad Thai was pretty good as well,. It's a dry noodle dish which I love, Saucy Pad Thai isn't right. The flavors were there but the balance wasn't right. Level 5 spicy wasn't spicy enough (yeah, I know this isn't traditionally supposed to be spicy), and there wasn't enough palm or other sugar to offset the sour of the tamarind. I took a chance on this restaurant solely based on the pictures of the Thai fried wings and it was SUCH a great choice! The wings were crunchy, well seasoned and flavorful! I also got the shrimp pad Thai with medium spice, my family members got the mild Pad Thai and we all enjoyed our food. We ordered ahead for pick up and it was a ghost town on a Saturday evening! Their menu also changed slightly compared to what was here online -- no peanut sauce and no satay. It's such a same how remote this place was because the food was amazing! We will be back for sure. We love coming here. Blown away. The only problem is that all other Thai food I've had since Chon Tong leave me saying to myself "that was really good, but it wasn't Chon Tong." Kat always takes such great care of us and recommended the Duck Curry to me a while back and it is my absolute favorite. The best Duck that I've ever had and the curry is truly incredible. The menu is not too large, but has all the gems and they meet all my expectations. I've tried them at places PF Chang and hated them. The fried rice was delicious and there was plenty of it. A friend went with me and he ordered some kind of reddish orange soup. He specified medium hot on the spice level. He gave me a little and it was really hot. In fact, he was sweating. It was delicious though. The gyoza was incredible, it had so much flavor and I love that it wasn't deep fried (why do so many places here insist on deep frying gyoza?!). I ordered two curries - Massaman and Paneng. The Massaman was so creamy & delicious but the Paneng was, by far, my favorite! It had SO much flavor and the spice was perfect. I can't wait to try Chon Tong again soon! read more

Her personality is charming and familial. The owners, Tong and Gay, are arguably the best one-two-punch of culinary genius in the state of Tennessee. A friend and I were in the area hiking and worked up an appetite. Both of us being vegetarian we found this place on yelp. The reviews seemed decent, but living in Houston we have some AMAZING Thai places, so I admit I was skeptical. The interior is nothing fancy, a typical hole in the wall kind of place. There was only one lady waiting on the few tables that were occupied. She was very pleasant with us while taking orders. We opted for the papaya salad, tofu green curry with extra veggies and another tofu dish off the menu. Wow was I surprised!! Everything was very fresh, just the right spice and so flavorful!
