Talk about a hidden gem tucked away in a corner in LaVergne, TN. You wouldn't even know this place exist. If you want some good authentic Thai food, please run over to Chon Tong Thai Cafe. They have the best chicken wings around. The service and food is always good rather you're dinning in or taking out. It's a small quiet restaurant with owners that cook with love.

I took a chance on this restaurant solely based on the pictures of the Thai fried wings and it was SUCH a great choice! The wings were crunchy, well seasoned and flavorful! I also got the shrimp pad Thai with medium spice, my family members got the mild Pad Thai and we all enjoyed our food. We ordered ahead for pick up and it was a ghost town on a Saturday evening! Their menu also changed slightly compared to what was here online -- no peanut sauce and no satay. It's such a same how remote this place was because the food was amazing! We will be back for sure. What a hidden gem.

They have the best pad Thai! I am very picky. Typically Pad Thai can be too sweet, too sticky, too dry, and overpriced. However, it is just right here. I always order seafood and the flavor is consistent everytime.

We ate here twice while we were visiting family and it was excellent both times. The food was excellent and the couple that own and run the restaurant are very friendly and offer attentive and speedy service. My favorite dishes were the Crispy Tamarind Duck and the best Tom Kha soup I've ever had. Highly recommend!!!

    Beautiful Entrance Way

We love coming here. Blown away. The only problem is that all other Thai food I've had since Chon Tong leave me saying to myself "that was really good, but it wasn't Chon Tong." Kat always takes such great care of us and recommended the Duck Curry to me a while back and it is my absolute favorite. The best Duck that I've ever had and the curry is truly incredible. As I'm writing this review I'm beginning to ponder on how soon I can get back for another meal! Thank you Chon Tong!

The food is delicious! I ordered the combo pho along with gyozas and egg rolls and it was all to die for. It's such an underrated and hidden restaurant with gentle decorations. The menu is not too large, but has all the gems and they meet all my expectations. The service was great and quite speedy - serving me in about 10 minutes with steaming food. 10/10 am going back in like 30 minutes lol.

This place is a hidden gem!! The Thai Chicken Wings are some of the best wings I've ever had!! They're so full of flavor and the onions and peppers just add to it! The sticky rice is good too! I wish I could give this place more than five stars because it was perfect! The prices are reasonable, the service was great, the food is delicious. I can't wait to try their whole menu. Lol

About 30 min outside of Nashville city center but totally worth the trip! Family owned and operated for over a decade+, they have a strong local following so it was nice to see a packed house of repeat customers despite the icey cold weather! They had been closed for a few days due to really harsh winter weather conditions so I was so happy to see them open this day! Ordered a bit of everything since my stomach could not decide on just one thing as everything on their menu all sounded so appetizing! Ordered the fried appetizer sampler, I was solo dining but this was definitely enough for 2-4 ppl to share. Wasn't in the mood for noodles but ordered a bowl of just the pho broth. The broth was very rich, a tad too salty and a bit too much cinnamon for my taste but it still warmed me right up! For lunch the pork laap salad with a side of sticky rice at a level 5 spicy was just pure perfection. The balance of flavors was spot on and the kick of heat from the spice level really took it to a notch! Also ordered their whole fried fish of the day and it was beautiful crispy on the outside and tender white flesh on the inside. I will for sure be back here to try their other dishes when I'm back down in the Nashville area for work!

I'm not saying it as good as my mamas cooking but it's almost as good if I'm looking for something that's hard to make hard to find that you may have seen at some party you went to this is the place to stop at. The food was good as usual. Service was great. They're helpful and attentive and as quick as they can be. I would recommend that you go in and take a visit and try some real food. The restaurant is a little out-of-the-way a little inconspicuous looking but well worth searching and finding your way there. If you want to try as close as you can get to eating at my mom's house go there and try it out and give them a chance. The food is good. The price is reasonable. You won't regret it. It's a small place but I think with advance notice they can accommodate large parties. Before I leave this review- this has to be the best Thai Tea I've had in many years. We didn't explore the grocery that much but it seemed like it had a nice balance of dry food goods, refrigerated items, and small objects, mostly either for cooking or the occasional gift. It was clean inside and being a grocery store had a good bit of parking outside. The restaurant is on the far right as you enter. We were greeted warmly and told to seat ourselves. Menus were delivered promptly. I ordered a Thai tea to drink. Hubs got the fried shrimp appetizer and we both chose noodles for lunch; he opted for pad see ew and I got drunken noodles. The restaurant was fairly busy but despite the crowdedness it still felt easy to have conversation with each other. Our food came out quickly but had clearly been cooked fresh. The Thai tea was the one thing that didn't hit at all. It had a very intense flavor that I couldn't quite place compared to all the other Thai teas I've had. Could just be this one is more traditional, lol. But it wasn't quite as sweet as I'm used to and it almost had a subtly salty vibe; I wouldn't get it again. That said, the cooked food items were quite good. The breading on the shrimp was incredibly crispy and even I liked them well enough at first; the flavor was light and the texture not rubbery. We did ultimately realize these shrimp had not been deveined, which is not our preference but I understand it's not a requirement to be able to eat them. The noodle dishes really shone, though. Hubs liked his pad see ew and we both thought my drunken noodles were even better. Lots of tender but still-crisp veggies in both. Strong and pleasantly aromatic basil flavor in mine. Large portion sizes. The noodles were cooked well and were pleasantly chewy. Mine was lightly spicy but nothing intense; I wound up adding more chili oil from the small container on the table. Service was a highlight throughout; the women working were very personable, got us to-go boxes, and were attentive to any other needs we had. Lots of menu choices here and fresh food prepared quickly. Definitely worth a try if you're in the area.

I have a peanut allergy and they were very accommodating and automatically made any necessary adjustments to dishes we ordered. We tried a couple different drinks and they were all very good and fairly priced. We went on weekend nights and only had to wait around 20 minutes to be seated indoors, which was to be expected as this place was packed with people and we would have been willing to wait longer if needed. We had two different servers, I unfortunately can't remember our first one's name but she was the one with stretched ears that normally wears her hair up. She was great and very thorough in explaining how the menu worked. The second night we had Lexi and she was super sweet. They were both fantastic and I hope to be seated with either one of them when we eventually go back!

The dish had a spicy yet tolerable kick to it, but I have a very high threshold for spice and heat (I added chili oil to take it up a notch!). Also, the portion size is BIG. I was very hungry so I had no issues finishing most of it, but it could easily be shared between two adults, especially if you order an appetizer or side. I loved the interior decor, which was simple yet eye catching. The mural encompassing the entire space in particular looked really cool.
