The lumber section of the store is in a back corner, and isn't a very large area. While I was selecting my piece of wood, several men would just walk walk in front and around me, without saying excuse me nor being verbal at all. It was like I wasn't even there, to them. So as to not get touched or knocked over, I had to move away from the lumber twice, even though I wasn't finished making my selection, just so I wouldn't be "in the way." When I went to check out, I was standing in line, and the cashier, Don, called the gentleman who was behind me up to the register to check out. That gentleman let the cashier know that I was ahead of him and it was my turn to check out. I had actually been standing in line for a while before the customer behind me even got in line. Don then called me up- he offered no apology. As he checked me out, Don didn't ask if I had found everything ok. Didn't ask if I needed anything else. Generally unfriendly. I just generally noticed a certain theme in this store, and I don't like the vibe. Maybe some diversity, in gender and/or race, would help offset that vibe. I'm not sure, and don't really care because me nor my dollars will be returning.

He showed me where it was and wanted to hurry back to the front with it in his hand without letting me even look at it. I stopped him saying I needed to compare the product to what I had to make sure it was the right one. There were multiple options and no differentiating description on the front. You also couldn't see it fully without opening it up so I was trying to make sure I had the right one. I did not want to come back or have to go somewhere to replace it. He kept rushing me and when I went to take the product to look at it, he held onto it until I had to pull it out of his hand. He literally pressed his fingers together gripping it. It was very clear he did not want me touching any of the product in the store. I guess he thought I was going to grab it, stuff it down my leggings, rush past him and out the store. It was $7. I had no purse and had my wallet and keys were in my hand so I have no idea where his imagination was going. After I looked at, I was decided to try it so turned to talk to the front check out and he grabbed it out of my hands to walk it to the front. I typically shop here because the Lowes is far but I'll take my business elsewhere. I wouldn't want to frighten the old white men with my presence. Fox News must have told him every POC wants what they have and will steal it right in front of them in broad daylight. In reality, I would rather not speak or deal with you either.

For a 60 lb bag, they charged me 9.00 and change with tax it came to 10.17 . Today I purchased the same 60 lb bag at Home Depot for 4.34! Same exact, except without the extra 5.00 !! ACE isn't being competitive with the bigger box stores. I won't use their business going forward.!

Has the hardware and plumbing down fully. The value at Ace is service.. Someone will almost always ask "can we help you find something?" when you walk in the door. At the other big box stores the staff seems put out by questions and it's been my experience they don't have any idea what you are asking for and on the off chance the do, they don't know where it is kept. Value at Ace is service. It's my default store and I find pricing in line with the others.

They even gave me a call to let me know the ceiling fan was in stock because it's a popular item, and they wanted to make sure I got it.

If possible have THE HOME DEPOT APP on your smart phone, when you find a product your interested in open the HD app and scan the bar code whatever it shows at HD price you pay 50% of that price. Not everything scans so you will have to ask for a price. As I said the store is packed so if you're looking for multiple of the same item you may have to search around to see if they have additional quantities. My last time in the store I picked up a couple nice semi flush interior light fixtures and cannot be happier with them. Their hours are shorter than most retailers and they definitely have a small parking lot that is shared with a couple other businesses in the little center. From the outside, seeing the building you may be tempted to drive on by and not go in but that's your loss, you need to go in. Home Depot, like Menards, pretty much offers what you need, but prices may be a titch higher…read more I personally like going here for lightening and ceiling fans as I prefer them over Menards. The people are pretty helpful but I'm not a fan of their lack of cashiers and their reliance on self pay kiosks. Otherwise, you are pretty much gonna shop at the location that is closest to you.

It's just the running around finding that help which leads to this evaluation. Know the the margins don't allow for an overstaffing, but it effects with an understaffing.
