While I can't give a full five stars--there have been occasional hiccups--my overall experience has been exceptional. I was an early member of Sitka Salmon Shares. Since the change to Sitka Seafood Market it's not as good. That statement was based on a problem with UPS who delivered my package more than 48 hours late. While it wasn't Stika Seafood Market's fault they replaced my order. We love the fish. read more

I have been a loyal customer since 2018 and not once have I ever had a problem with customer service or the fish I have received, I did read the bad reviews and I have always been able to switch out items I don't want without a problem it's a great company and customer service is awesome. read more

This is an update to my review from last year. I had cancelled Sitka Salmon after posting here, confirmation emails and all. It was quite an ordeal because the first time I emailed as required and was still sent my next box. I put deferrals on all orders and awaited cancellation, but you can only defer for 2 months at a time. In July, I was able to finally cancel after emails went unanswered via hone. I had not received a delivery since then. Lo and behold I was shocked to receive a delivery today, charge on my credit card and see an active subscription when I logged in to see what was going on. There is no way to cancel on-line still, no way to take off payment information. I have emailed the company and file a credit card dispute. BUYER BEWARE!!!! read more

We love the fish from Sitka Salmon Shares. It is excellent quality. The price is higher and there are several varieties of fish. The website also has several recipes that can be sorted by type of fish. If your shipment arrives thawed they are very good about issuing a quick replacement. You can also swap your species in your shipment. read more

The fish is really good. That being said, the customer service has taken a tumble down a hill so steep that the customer feels lost in a fifty meter free-fall. If they would only answer their phone or call back...email is your best bet, but you're going to wait, so best be patient and only ask one question at a time. This can take days. read more

I was a customer from 2020 and finally canceled my monthly subscription May 2024 due to the cost. For a premium seafood box I was paying around $160 a month. The seafood was high quality. I never weighed it but it seemed like there was not much there. I really don't think it was 4.5 pounds. What I didn't like: Some pieces of sealed fish were enormous. Some were a good serving size. It made it hard to plan meals since my husband does not eat fish. I didn't like that I had little control over ehat they sent that month. I could substitute out only one thing. And I did not want crab legs! Way too much work! And I didn't want sable fish, I don't like its texture. So if I forgot to call them I'd get these things I really did not want. I did not like the unpredictability of what they would send me from month to month. I also did not like that they do not provide a billing summary of what you ordered and when. Like my special orders, I see big charges in my credit card history but no way for me to remember what I ordered. I did appreciate their recipies and stories of how hard working they are. But its time to say goodbye. I signed up with a different company who is $15 cheaper/month, offers a consistant selection in my box, suitable portion sizes, and a billinng statement via email. read more

Just cancelled my subscription... Was great when I signed up a few years ago. The portions have been shrinking and there are surcharges to swap the featured fish for preferred species. It is no longer worth the cost. read more

I have been participating in the Sitka Salmon Shares program for a year. So glad I signed up! Sitka Salmon Shares supports the local small fishing industry of Sitka, Alaska. The fish always arrives frozen, packaged with dry ice. It is the freshest fish I have ever eaten. There are three of us adults in my household and we always get at least three or four meals worth of fresh fish out of each box. Tonight I made a baked salmon dish with their Coho Salmon. It was flaky and tender, which tasted great! I've also made from previous purchases, baked cod and baked halibut. I'm always amazed at how fresh the fish tastes! Customer service is a top priority of Sitka Salmon Shares. The company takes very seriously that the fish arrives frozen since it is freshly caught. I also like the fact that there are recipes on their website and more information about the company and fishermen and women. It's great too that Sitka Salmon Shares supports sustainable fishing practices. read more

There is no value to these orders. If you like receiving less than 4 pounds of fish for $159 and having that fish show up with the dry ice completely evaporated and the salmon already thawed then sign up. I've canceled my subscription after the second shipment. What a rip off! read more
