This school provides an incredible training and coaching experience for all skill levels. Whether you are just curious to explore the culture and skill-set or honing your professional fight skills, the teaching/coaching staff and members here foster a supportive yet disciplined environment. You will become the best version of your self here, and that's by choice, once you surround yourself with like minded driven people! I've been training here for just over a year now and have met some of the most positive, warm, hard working individuals in both the staff and students. My wife and I come here for "couples therapy" and leave it all in the ring during our sparring sessions (since we work together and need the stress relief.) My only complaint is that I can't quit my day job and train here the entire day (some days I have tried.) Joining this gym has provided a life outside of career and parenting. We needed to find something to balance out the "hustle & grind", something we could find to work on ourselves, physically and emotionally. This Sityodtong family is all we were searching for and more. In addition to surrounding ourselves with positive, hardworking people "iron sharpening iron", we've found life long friends and a tribe to better ourselves with indefinitely. Shout out to all the hard working trainers/champions who invest their time and energy into us daily: Kru Walter, Wilson, Josh, Johnny "Utah", Big Mike, Chris, & sometimes Jared

First Belt Test. Shaolin Kenpo. Coach June Castro and the Great Grandmaster Ralph Castro. What an honor to test for them.

Well my son has now been training here for over a year. He does Muay Thai three days a week with the Kru's wife. She is a lifelong martial artist. Her father is Great Grandmaster Ralph Castro, who created Shaolin Kenpo Karate, and she has mastered numerous martial arts. To have her teach your children is an honor. She also teaches Shaolin Kenpo one day a week. And Brazilian Ju Jitsu is taught 3 times a week by the Forza 300 camp under Fernando Castillo (a Ralph Gracie Black Belt). So, my 6 1/2 year old is at he gym 6 days a week. And he loves it. If I feel lazy, he makes me take him. And the growth over the last year has been exceptional (both in his skill and in his health and confidence). I have just began training in the adult classes, after not having worked out or trained in any martial arts in a good decade. The classes will kick your butt, but the coaches (who are all professional fighters for the most part and even WBC Champions in some cases) are very encouraging. The atmosphere here is one of family. Everyone gets to know each other, and everyone helps the others to improve and never give up. You'll see people as young as 3 and into their 60's training. And they offer tons of classes. Muay Thai, Brazilian Ju Jitsu, fitness, conditioning, wrestling, boxing. This is one of the best Muay Thai camps in the world, as well as one of the best places you can hope to get in shape.

LAtely everyone had commented how much weight I lost, which is 15lbs. (After the holidays too =x) I must admit it felt great but that was not my goal when I started. I wanted to be strong and to be able to defend myself, this place offers all that and more. I had such a pleasure meeting all the coaches and the grand master plus his wife. They are all friendly and helpful! You can tell it's a family here not just coworkers. They support each others fights and events plus they go to them too. Not to mention, most of the coaches are active fighters. EVERYONE IS SO NICE AND WONDERFUL. Having been here since November, I really enjoy coming here. The coaches kick you in the butt but it's so worth it. They are challenging but yet exciting. they are more about form and technique then other places I have seen. Very clean gym with plenty of equipment for your training needs. FFBC- that is the morning boot camp with most days ranging about 15 students and special events to over 30. The fellow students are encouraging and helpful especially to a noobie like myself. Lol they even go to the student fights for moral support. My sister and I even completed a 4 hour marathon of training after thanksgiving day. My sister Double the size of me and obessed me (all gym test said i was obesse) was able to finish because they would not let us give up. Receiving that medal nearly brought tears to our eyes. Never thought we could even get closer to finishing it before, I'm am looking forward to TOUGH MUDDR, SPARTAN, 5KS, AND OTHER MARATHONS. I know I should diet more and quit desserts but it's so good though. lol my food journal in the beginning was filled with comments lol it would really help me lose more but I guess I work out to eat. =x Overall great great place to learn self defense, fighting skills, and traditions from Thailand. Winners never quit and Quitters never win. HARD WORK BEATS TALENT WHEN TALENT ISN'T WORRYING HARD.

I was happy to see that Kaizen offers a really great deal for a two-week trial package that includes unlimited cardio kickboxing and TRX! This was perfect for me to try out classes to get a feel of things before making a longer commitment. The regular monthly fee is very reasonable too! The fact that the monthly fee covers unlimited kickboxing and TRX motivates me to make the most of it and go routinely. I'm a 30 something year old, and it's nice to see that both kickboxing and TRX at Kaizen suit people of all ages and backgrounds. Signing up for classes that fit my work schedule is easy and flexible through the app. Kickboxing is an excellent workout. It really gets the heart rate up and the sweat going. What pleasantly surprised me was trying TRX for the first time because I had zero familiarity with it. TRX is easy for me to follow because of the pacing. It really is a full body workout. I find TRX more doable than pilates, which I personally find too difficult. TRX is fun using straps as a workout tool, also making it pretty unique. Both kickboxing and TRX are 45-minute classes, and it feels like the perfect amount of time. Classes aren't long, and that allows me to have the energy to go multiple times per week. The location is very convenient for me and there's plenty of parking. Jody, the instructor for both kickboxing and TRX, is an inspiration because she teaches so many classes and is a great instructor/model! She's friendly, patient, personable, and approachable. She helps you get the techniques and correct postures for moves, so she'll also keep you accountable! Also, I've found that the people who attend classes are very friendly and cool. There's zero judgement nor egos from what I observe! In summary, Kaizen is great! You get to enjoy classes and enjoy seeing/feeling yourself get more fit and healthy! Give it a try if you're curious. You've got nothing to lose, except fat and calories!

My son's journey started 14 years ago in San Dimas where he studied under Grand Master Petermann, then Master Petermann, at 4 years old. We only went two times a week, but I liked their style and adherence to the traditional ways of Hapkido. When the San Dimas studio closed, they moved temporarily to the Masonic Temple in San Dimas. We later moved to the Pasadena studio (this is when my daughter started), then South Pasadena waiting for Arcadia to open. My son got his black belt under the training of both Mr. Tomas and Master Kim. His early training was from Grandmaster Peterman and Mr. and Mrs. Clark. My daughter is training for her black belt--some 10 years later, under the tutelage of Mr. Tomas, Ms. Kelly, and Mr. Salazar. WHAT A JOURNEY!!! We followed Mr. Tomas because he cares about his students--they are NOT dollar signs as some studios see them. He wants them to succeed but does NOT baby them. He teaches real world experiences that one would face with which Hapkido can help--it is not just fighting. These are life-building transferable skills you can use anywhere--plus defend yourself. I am a veteran high school teacher, and I can almost always tell a student who has been or is in martial arts. Confidence. Respectful, Perseverance. Control. Calm. Independent. Humble--they will get these here. Do not hesitate to go to this studio. Have you child watch or even join a practice. It will be one of the best decisions you will make in your children's life, in my opinion. They might even see my son there, Mr. Smead. Thank you to all that have helped my son reach his goals, and now my daughter to follow.

After driving past this location numerous times for years, November 2025 (better late than never as…read morethey say) was when I finally decided to reach out to the Logic IG account and get the free trial lesson booked. They provide a clean Gi for the trial lesson (just show up 10 mins before the practice starts) and off I went to link up with the rest of the group. The first 15 mins or so are dedicated for warm-up/stretching, thereafter the next 25-30 mins are to learn and practice several techniques, and the rest of the hour is to do live rolls/sparring. I was physically exhausted by the end of the trial class (I still get exhausted to this day), but felt great psychologically. There was no pressure to enroll, however it was a no-brainer for me. I want to take a moment to discuss the overall environment at Logic. Yes, I was the "new one" but felt welcomed and the folks I was practicing with genuinely wanted to make sure I was doing the techniques correctly. Everyone was (and still are) very patient. When I'd mess up a step, they'd say to not worry and try it again. They mentioned they went through the same process I was going through when they started. Professor Thiago is also open to questions and provides constructive feedback to ensure you succeed. He goes around and has a knack to notice where his presence is needed to support us. The second part of my review has to do with the kid courses. When I took my daughter for her trial lesson, the same structure that the adults go through they also experience. The exception is there are more coaches present to ensure the kids are focused when they practice, provide feedback and hands-on support (if necessary), encourage them, and most importantly keep them safe. The latter being a big positive since kids sometimes forget to tap, so the coach will tap for them and then reset. I echo the passage on a previous review with regards to Professor Thiago and all the instructors/coaches with the kids. They're enjoying themselves out there while teaching our young ones. It's infectious in a positive way. At the end of their lesson, they have the kids play a game as a reward for the hard work they put in. If you're a parent and are a bit hesitant on having your kid pick up BJJ, you can rest assured that you can trust the folks at Logic. Just give the trial lesson a try and see/experience it. Lastly, in addition to learning self-defense, you'll notice your body changing. When you're sparring you get both cardio and strength training. That's the cherry on top. I highly recommend this place.

There are many BJJ schools in the neighborhood (actually about 4 on the surrounding blocks). I have tried at least one other school in the area, as well as 3 or 4 more in the SGV but not nearby, and this one impresses me so far. First off, the space is a good size and clean, plus there is ample parking between the street and the free lot in back. The price is decent and the amount of classes offered is good. But what makes a school is the instructor(s). A lot of the places I have tried taking my young son have blue belts or at best purple belts teaching the kids. Some schools do not want to pay a black or brown belt to teach kids. And the curriculum suffers at those schools. Since I've been here, either Professor Rocha or another black belt have taught the children's classes. I cannot tell you how important I feel it is to have a black or at least brown belt teaching your class. In many of the kids classes here, the sizes are also quite manageable. Professor Rocha has split the kids into two groups (Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday - there is also a no Gi Friday class, a combined group class on Saturday morning, and a competition class on Saturdays) so the classes are not over full one day and empty the next. That is smart. So far the classes are about 10 to 12 kids per class. The last few places I tried out had upwards of 25 to 30 kids and with just one or two instructors for the entire class. That was too many. Here you have 10-12 kids and at least two instructors (a black and brown belt) and as many as four instructors (I've seen Professor Rocha teach along with 2 brown belts and a blue belt). With so many instructors, no kid is left behind or falling through the cracks. If a new kid needs special instruction or attention to learn what is going on, one instructor can focus on that new kid (as they did with my son), without the other kids suffering. I also appreciate the teaching style here. Some places let the kids goof around. Not here. Professor Lucas is young and has fun with the kids, but he also will make sure no one is zoning out or goofing off. That is important. Martial Arts should always include self-discipline. I also like that Professor Rocha is the nephew of Ze Radiola (ZR), who is a legend in BJJ. This is one serious place. That his own nephew is the head instructor is fantastic. These are champion builders. You can tell the training is traditional and old school in a good way. Some schools will be teaching brand new students how to do inversions and wild competition stuff that won't work in a real street fight. Here, so far everything I've seen has been practical and wonderfully explained. Simple sweeps done right. Effective take downs. And, happily he works on the core training which any BJJ practitioner needs. Some kid schools don't do this enough, but you need to build your core to lose weight and get faster and stronger. Professor Rochas doesn't neglect any of this. All in all, so far I am very happy. I think this is a very strong school and worth checking out. The adult classes I've seen following the kids classes seem very good, as well. I hope to train here myself one day soon. Highly recommended. At least come in and try a free class or two. You'll probably find yourself hooked, like me.
