Showed up at Discovery Kingdom yesterday during Good Friday. I haven't been here in years. I didn't know what to expect. But it was a good day to go. It wasn't as crowded and the lines at the rides moved quickly. The rides are still an adrenaline rush for me. I've always love roller coasters. Of course some rides were closed which is to be expected. But surprisingly a lot of the food stands were closed too. But the bathrooms breaks were amazing no lines and not Crowded. Overall my family and I had an awesome time. They were open from 11am - 8pm. I think they should at least open at 9am or 10am. But maybe they are short of employees who knows. We opted to purchase season passes because we figured we'd visit more than one time. And the passes are good for additional parks within CA, like Magic Mountain, Water world, Great America and more. I'd say after two visits your money is already worth it. read more

Amazing park for the location and age. Low expectations going in from the bad reviews. The ride ops are bad because there low on ride operators, the rides are not breaking but being planed on break time to switch ride operators around the park. Park is excellent condition and the animals are well kept and overall a nice park. No need for a fast pass purchase, visited on a Sunday in summer and longest line was about 40 minutes for Superman. Best ride in the park was Medusa and it was a walk on all day. read more

You wanna know why six flags gets such bad reviews? I've never been SO disappointed by an experience in my lifetime and as a mother of a little one. The staff are rude, not caring nor do they actually understand how to handle situation. I'll admit it's hard working in the hot sun but the ride operators literally talk about you behind your back. The whole time I was there I didn't hear a single staff member actually talk politely and say "please". 2. Moving on, they have little to no shade at most of the lines where you stand in the HOT sun for at most an hour. But if your like me, I can't handle straight sun for so long. 3. The signs they have for the "entrance" of the rides. It's confusing because theres fastrack signs EVERYWHER yet there's no clear indicator which is the actual entrance because they don't put signs for the ride entrances. 4. I don't believe the animals they have are well taken care of. Today they had the stingrays out and they only keep MALE stingray. Now as some who loves animals this is actually more dangerous and stressful for them because of the territorial issues. One of the stingrays were injured because Six flags housed males instead of females. Honestly if you bring your family here I wish you the best. But from my experience they show no actual interest in making sure that their Amusement Park is a good place for children. As a 18 year old MOTHER....I'm glad I scooped it out and I will not be taking my children here. To the staff members: a please and a thank you never hurt anyone, if you have an opinion that doesn't include talking about your job. You shouldn't say it to your GUESTS. Wish I could give 0 stars. My family and I came here and it was absolutely horrendous. Spent well over $400 to get in and rent a locker and eat a little (horrible) food that costs an exorbitant amount of money. $15 for a hot dog lololol. Well, we were able to ride one ride over 4.5 hours because we'd wait and then the ride would break down when nearing the front. Happened 3 times throughout the day. For how much money they charge people, you'd think they could pay for their rides to actually run for their guests. Our kids were so upset about the experience they were actually in tears when we left. Talked to customer service and they offered two "get to the front of the line first" tickets for a ride. A complete joke. We declined and left instead of spending another minute there. I would have rather stood in line at the DMV cause it would have been just as fun but I would have actually accomplished something when getting to the front of the line and I wouldn't have to look in my kids eyes and see complete disappointment. This place should be ashamed of themselves. Update: they responded to my negative review asking me for info about my visit. Thinking they would try to make good on the horrendous experience our families had, they responded after 6 back and forth emails with this. "As accommodation for your unsatisfactory visit, we would like to offer you 1 ride exit passes for the inconvenience. Please be advised that each ride exit pass holds up to 4 guests. The ride exit passes allow you into the exit queue in order to get on the ride quicker than the general queue. Please provide case number 05393749 at guest relations in order to retrieve your tickets." what a joke. This dumbass customer service rep literally offered me LESS compensation than they did at the park. So they want me to spend more and bring my family to their shitty park again so I can get to the front of ONE ride hahahaha. DO NOT GO TO ANY OF THEIR CALIFORNIA PARKS. Too expensive!!! When celebrating Halloween, I went on to purchase ticket passes for the haunted houses, however when we got to the park they informed us to purchase park tickets as well, which was not disclosed on the Six Flag's website. Had I known, I would have either brought my family earlier to make the day worth with the park tickets or reconsider in not going at all. Overall, it was definitely way overpriced! The haunted house mazes were very short and not worth the price and I recommend anyone thinking of going, not to go! There are far better haunted houses around with affordable prices that are worth the trip! Such a disappointment and sneaky way to lure customers in! When we went I enjoyed the fact they made time frames to enter the park so the lines are not so long. 25% of the rides where open but you could still enjoy yourself. The reason for the 3 stars was they really need to work on the on line and regular food service it took way to long to the point you could get a beer faster. Also you would have thought with the down time they would have taken advantage and upgrade the signs and bathrooms. There were a few people acting poorly about the rules for Covid there should have had security near by to help the ride operators. .i know they are working out the new protocols and I am sure they will get them worked out soon enough read more

my friend and i came here for fright fest this past halloween, and let me tell you the lack of halloween spirit and whimsy was so palpable it was suffocating. first of all they made everyone take off their face paint, we rationalize it was because of the scare actors and they didn't want to be liable for non actors in costume. to our horror there were no. scare. actors. on halloween night. instead an underwhelming view of their christmas decorations they just couldn't wait till the end of the weekend to put out. so disappointed, you'd think they'd stay true to fright fest activities up until halloween, but of course that just makes too much sense. also the prices for the food is utterly absurd that i'd rather eat the mud from the bottom of the pond outside the park. the one star is because i was still able to get the accessibility pass so we were able to go on quite a few rides and didn't hear of any malfunctioning rides. if it weren't for that i'd wish to give this review a zero. read more

Decent parking accommodations with a nice walking path for when you want to get some extra steps. The buses run often for when you have walked too much. Beware if you choose to walk you are committed there is no short cut :) Tis park delivers everything you want in a six flags plus a zoo. Which is pretty neat because the zoo features truly make it a multigenerational park. There are several playgrounds within the park that you can take the little ones and let them burn off all the great energy. We choose to do the membership and include parking and food. For a family of 5 it pays for its self in pretty much one visit!! They also allow you to bring a friend on certain days throughout the year and they have a Halloween and winter fun land. Bought the annual pass to take my five year old. I'm not a fan of theme parks and I don't do rides. It's just not my thing. But my kid loves this place I so we've gone a couple times already. She loves the looney tune rides and the aquatic shows. The park could use a bit of TLC. The kid rides are a bit old and raggedy looking and Every time I've gone half the food spots are closed. But nevertheless I will continue to take my kid here. It makes her happy and we always leave with a smile. read more

This was a great experience! Yes there were some rides that were closed down but what paid off was the fun experience, like the Superman ride or the joker. This is not for everyone but it's mostly for a group of teens on a Sunday evening, that's what I did! I would not recommend this place but if you live near Vallejo it's a good place to go but in all honestly... magic kingdom is way more better. This Monday started with disorganization. Parking was a mess as two long lines formed all the way to the fencing of Batman The Ride mercifully became three queues by the parking booth area. Compared to other large occupancy venues (concerts and theme parks included) this was certainly one of the slowest. The undergoing construction certainly didnt help and I do hope this improves the parking debacle. C'mon it's not like were paying $30 to park and then hike a shadeless half miler spiced up by the searing summer sun. OK enough for the parking. With the ads bombarding allover, it's hard to miss the featured & updated DC rides. Years ago when this family had season passes, our favorites were the V2: Vertical Velocity ride (renamed Flash) and Roar (renamed Joker) which has been sadly updated into a hybrid wooden/steel rollercoaster as opposed to the classic wooden ride. The newer rides Superman & Batman 4D certainly electrified this thrill seeking family. The older rides ie the Medusa and Kong coasters were not a long wait which was certainly a pleasant surprise. We got the all you can drink souvenir mugs which was perfect for icy drinks on this hot summer's day. We opted for the Corn Dog and upgraded Chili Cheese Fries as recommended by previous reviews. VERY important tip. Cellphones should be in secured/zippered pockets as mine fell off the shaky Batman ride. Good thing it fell screen up and survived long fall. read more

During Covid, they were pretty awesome about making sure everything was on the up and up (masks and all). Was a great time to take the little one without too much craziness with crowds. Couple things to look out for. Tram from parking lot does not do seating of every other or open windows. It's a long walk from the parking lot to the front but that's the alternative. With things opening up, it might be more nuts. Was great when we went though and the staff was great. One other thing... pay attention to the show times. When the time changed, they didn't update the print outs that they hand you but did for the app. Caused all sorts of confusion. Probably fixed now, but it's something to be wary of. read more

So nice that they put solar panels. The panels make Six Flags more green but help the vehicles parked in their lots. Due to nothing blocking the sun and typically 80-100 degree heat cooking the interior it is nice to have a nice shaded area to park. What sucks still is the shuttle buses. We were lucky to have a bus right there when coming in at 10am but leaving we waited 15 mins before deciding to give up on the bus at 4:45 pm. read more

All the lines were very long and was only able to get onto 2 rides in 5 hours because of the time it takes to wait in line paid $20 for a stick of cheese. Less then half of the rides were running. The ones that were working kept going down for maintenance. read more

Typical Six Flags parking lot I believe it was $22 to park per car I'm not totally sure to this as I have a parking pass and if you visit their parks often just get it as you'll save a ton of money. The parking lot was super far from the park and on top of a hill it was kinda a cool little set up as it seemed the trams ran right through the middle of it. Once you leave your car and head toward the park you find yourself if walking heading into a pretty narrow walkway that I can tell totally sucks on a busy day as it was long and very narrow until you get to the park. The path here to get to the park had to be longer than the one at Magic Mountain as it seemed it took a really long time! On the plus side I did see the security roaming in a car a few times wile walking to and from the park so I knew everything there should be all good. Overall it's a parking lot at a theme park don't expect to much as you gotta walk decently far no matter what park you go to! read more

Ok. So I haven't been here in a very long time so I wasn't sure what to expect. We came here for my son's 8th birthday to celebrate with his cousin. I guess his cousin has a season pass for two years now. First off, damn it's expensive. From tickets to $25 parking and not to mention the food. We went to eat at BJ's something grill or bar, the only indoor seating area and serves beer... Anyways, we ordered the cheeseburger and damn was that burger the driest (damnear burnt as hell) meat I've ever had! The cheese was so thin it disappeared onto the meat. Like no flavor at all. I had to use about 6 packets of ketchup to taste anything! Disappointing. Waste of money, should of just got chicken tenders. The cheese pizzas weren't that good either, I'm used to Costco's inexpensive huge slice that tastes delicious! Other than the food.. the dolphin show was fun. We got super wet. The lines for the rides weren't that long. Cotton candy was good. I had the frozen lemonade drink in cherry, that was nice but it really sweet. I couldn't finish it so I threw it away. Funnel cake wasn't bad. But what I was SURPRISED with was the young workers there. Almost everyone we encountered with was friendly, honest and had a positive attitude. ESPECIALLY this girl working at the games area, where you kick the soccer ball to the giant dart area for it to stick. I don't know her name but she was really nice. Told us about the $20 booklet of tickets? She stood out the most because she was just amazing. And we chatted with a man who does those cartoon drawings. I asked him a few questions and he was interesting to talk to. Looked at his sample work and it was really good. If it wasn't so expensive I would of had him draw my entire family! But I believe he said like 20$ a person. Maximum 6 people in a photo. Color cost more than black and white. But I was expecting ratchet kids who just here for their paychecks.. didn't expect everyone to be friendly and helpful. My kids always have an amazing time! We always get the season passes during the Labor Day sale because it's almost the same price as buying the 1 day tickets. The rides and animals are always great to check out. There are a variety of foods, but they're a bit pricey. Other than that, it's a great place to bring families. read more

There are barely any intense roller coasters here, I wouldn't waste my money or time. 2 of the like 6 coasters we wanted were broken/shut down, so there were only 4 left to go on. Without kids, you can probably see this place in 3 hours (if you go later in evening), not including the shows. I must admit they had a pretty xmas tree and decent xmas light show. Typical amusement park food. I didn't see any characters walking around. The lighting and signage was completely lacking throughout the park. Staff was pretty friendly. read more

It's fun. The thrilling rides, at the time we went there were a couple not working. Overall it was good, except for that 1.5 hour wait for the Joker. For whatever reason they were using just 1 car, this the extensive wait. Food...its pricey. Like $13 for a slice of pizza. $5 for water, unless you buy there special cups at $16 for free refills for the day. Fright Fest already started, but we didn't stay for that. Overall, its cheaper to get a season pass than to pay for the entrance fee, if you live in the area. Make sure you have deep pockets if you want to buy anything. Found out no bags, purses, or fanny packs are allowed on the rides, they'll kick you off if you brought them single use lockers are at the entrance to each ride will hold it for a limited time for a $1. Either lock your stuff in their daily lockers near the entrance or have a friend hold them while you go on the rides. read more

THIS REVIEW IS FOR THE PARKING LOT (LIKE THE YELP PAGE IT IS ON) NOT DISCOVERY KINGDOM ITSELF (LEARN TO READ PEOPLE)! Parking is $25 (I have a gold plus pass so I got free parking). It is a basic large as hell parking lot. The earlier you get to the park before they open the closer you will be able to park to the entrance. If you get there later you might have to park way far in the back of the lot (keep reading to see why this is an issue). The parking lot is not right in front of Discovery Kingdom. I want to say the closest part of the parking lot to the entrance of Discovery Kingdom is about a 15-20 minute WALK. You do not have to walk this, there is a regularly running medium sized shuttle to take you to the front but you will have to WAIT(and it probably runs every 15 minutes or so and you will probably have to wait awhile if you go when the park opens). The first two rows of parking are blocked off for handicap/disabled parking and other specialty parking). If you don't get there early then you will have to park at the back of the parking lot which is probably another 10-15 minutes from where the shuttles pick you up at the front/closest part of the parking lot. There is a walking path from the lot to the park. At night when you are walking back it is not well lit (you can see enough to get by but it is very dark- the street post lights are not turned on). If you have an annual pass, go after 5pm because some of the early arrivers have left by then after a long day of lines and hot sun, drive up to the front of the parking lot (3rd row and beyond) and you will likely find some empty spots to park in and enjoy the now way shorter lines and maybe lunch/dinner in the part on your dining plan. Please also make sure your valuables are out of site. There is no security in this lot. read more

This place deserves NO stars! PARK AT YOUR OWN RISK!!! There are thieves targeting trucks and sport utility vehicles, stealing catalytic converters! The particular day we were there they stole from at least three Sequoias. (also read Jennifer's review) Thieves know there aren't any cameras in the lot and security is a complete joke! After I discovered it stolen, I had to chase one down, and he reported it to other security employees, but there wasn't anything else he could do! Soon after the report was made, a golf cart with four security guys rode through the parking lot checking under other Toyota's, but that was it! They aren't there to offer any other assistance, so you're on your own! It was late, dark, and the park had closed. We were stuck with a vehicle that was inoperable and two hours away from home. Finally, around 9:30pm, a tow truck came to haul away our vehicle, but we still had a figure out a ride home! Great times! We are season ticket holders, but not anymore! We don't feel comfortable parking any of our vehicles in this parking lot and going through this hassle ever again! The $20 they charge for parking doesn't get you any extra security, and it only takes these criminals 60 seconds to steal catalytic converters, so parking close won't help! I filed a police report through the Vallejo website, but catalytic converters are untraceable. The damage they did will cost my insurance $4100 and they'll probably only get $100-$200 for the parts. You really can't beat the value. A lot of the rides are closed for maintenance or low staffing and the food takes a very long time to get it. But for the price you really can't beat the rides and the experience. I have the VIP passes and I try to go at least once a month. Totally worth my money. I love the animal shows. read more
