I started living in Vallejo 2019 and couldn't find any employment, just injustice and lack of intel. I am submitting this statement to formally document multiple incidents and the lasting emotional distress I experienced while residing in Vallejo beginning in 2019. When I relocated, I was actively seeking employment and stability. Instead, I encountered prolonged hardship, uncertainty, and a sense of isolation due to a lack of accessible information and support. During that period, the community appeared to be undergoing rapid changes, including housing reconstruction, frequent movement of residents, and the emergence of new small businesses. As someone trying to establish a safe and stable life, these conditions contributed to feelings of instability and vulnerability. Within several months of my arrival, my vehicle -- which contained essential supplies and irreplaceable personal belongings -- was impounded. The loss of transportation and personal property created severe hardship and emotional strain. When I later attempted to recover information about my vehicle, I experienced confusion and distress after being asked for the VIN number as if there were no prior ownership record. I was ultimately informed that the vehicle had already been removed. This experience left me feeling powerless, dismissed, and deeply discouraged. In addition to the property loss, I also reported experiencing situations that caused me to fear for my personal safety, including suspected stalking and a possible sexual assault during my time exploring and attempting to integrate into the community. Reporting these concerns was emotionally difficult and required significant courage. The aftermath left me feeling unsafe, unsupported, and anxious about my well-being. The cumulative impact of these experiences has been profound. I have endured ongoing emotional distress, loss of trust, fear, and difficulty rebuilding stability. I am submitting this statement not only to document what occurred but also to express the seriousness of the emotional and psychological harm I experienced. So I get arrested yesterday September 24 because I called the police a couple of times. Tell him that I was hearing weird noises inside my apartment and when they finally showed up, they asked me if they could come inside my house to check if there was anybody inside or if we were safe and when I did let them come inside they told me to pull my hands behind my back that I was gonna get arrested, but they didn't say that at the beginning and so I resisted to comply and then they ended up wrestling me, tackling me and forcing me onto the ground that's when I drop my wallet with $3000 in it my keys and my socks and I was pretty beat up because I thought it was an unjustifiable arrest and now I'm trying to get my wallet back, not to mention all that indirect sarcasm threatened like pretending that we're gonna do something bad to me which really had me terrified because I was under the influence of a substance, but it seemed like they just wanted to terrorize me read more

I called 911 who sent VPD out to my home for a Vallejo home invasion in the middle of the night. Someone busted my window in and got into my home to steal shit while I was sleeping. I chased the intruders out myself, another story, but called 911 and they sent several patrol cars and within about 5-10 ish minutes a wonderful team mixed race young officers arrived with A K-9 unit to secure my property. They were efficient, polite, respectful and a god send. I could not imagine better service. This is not what I was expecting as VPD has a bad rap. But all I can say is my experience was wonderful. They always come to harass about your own cars in your property and the street but once you call for a random car parked in front of your house, it's not a problem for them. This is my second experience with VPD and it didn't go well. These guys are a joke. My truck was stolen and it was found near the DMV. They called me to say they were towing the truck within 30 minutes. I told them I couldn't get there I time but they didn't care. I was the victim of a crime but they wanted to punish me. The neighborhoods off of Foothill Dr. are being broken into, experiencing robberies at gun and knife point, as well as unknown vehicles "casually" being parked. Since April 2019 I have already experienced two break-ins in my street alone. Currently an unknown vehicle is parked, and as I spoke to Badge #2165 she proceeded to override (cut me off and talked over) my concerns to get me off the line so that I call the Abandoned vehicle number - which factually she states doesn't rush to address the concerns. Badge#2165 also gives me the number for her Commander, who also doesn't pick up but switches to a voicemail. How convenient. The voicemail prompts to leave a name and number, but have I ever received a follow up call? No. What is the purpose of a police department that diverts concerning issues of the people they are supposedly protecting? How many burglaries and robberies does this Foothill neighborhood have to endure? I've been living in Vallejo since 1995 and frankly the response to concerns have become a laughable stereotype. This is the type of response that cause people to not trust and have no faith in the police department. Let this review be written evidence if by chance I (or any other resident of Foothill) is harmed due to the lack of urgency of the Commander, Badge#2165, Abandoned Vehicle line, and potentially other members of Vallejo Police Department. I do hope the Vallejo City Council and the Mayor's Office read this and will also be ashamed for not providing protection and ensuring full safety for Vallejo residents. This discussion has definitely opened my eyes to how frightening it is to live in Vallejo considering there is not much can be done about safety. It is commendable you still serve the city you say you grew up in, and definitely understandable why someone wouldn't reside in Vallejo. A little bit late to review, but I wanted to commend and thank Officers Diaz and Diaz the night of August 21, 2021 for their swift response, appropriate actions, and resolution to my issue. I had an unknown individual steal from my property. Upon notifying Vallejo Police Dispatch, Officers Diaz and Diaz were on the scene within minutes and tracking down the assailant. They were caught and my property was recovered well before I was able to arrive at the property (going from Pleasant Hill to Vallejo). It took them 3 hrs to arrive after I placed a call in regards to a man threatening to kill me and my dog!? Dispatcher on the phone named Ashley handled my emergency properly; she stated that they are always under staffed. After police officer Knowles arrived at the scene he went to investigate where these threats were taken place and had me describe the man who was making death threats. Good service! "To protect and serve" I've had some terrible experiences with this agency in the past due to it's bad law inforcement but it looks like they're finally hiring the right people. Watched a kid being dragged off and beat down the street by some dudes just before the holidays 2016, then they shot & murdered him in a car while I was on 911. 1 vehicle was dispatched- it came to my intersection and LEFT after a minute of shining a spotlight in the intersection (not the street this happened on). Never got out of his car. Never came to my door that night, or since. They never discussed this incident with me at that time or at anytime afterward, never respond about it or call back. EFFF the vallejo PD. I lived in Vallejo 20 years. Since 1990 and moved about 2011. I was 23, I was walking my dog and two young officers jumped out of their car and harassed me for being mexican. They asked what Gang I claim, and calling me Pedro. 'hey Pedro where ya going?" . When I replied in perfect english they got spooked and left in their squat car. TRUE STORY! Second encounter in 2007, I had was when my meth-head ex-girlfriend refused to give me my car keys. I tried to call them, the operator said that its not a domestic issue and would not help. I told her, I wanted to avoid a domestic issue and only want an officer to get the keys. Again to no avail. They suck Third encounter in 1998 I found my stolen car in downtown Vallejo. I tried to wave down a Bicycle officer and he laughed and said "are you kidding me" and kept riding his bike past me. I have have seen cops tase a guy too after he was already down. I Dont trust them, and avoid them as much as possble. if your unfortunate enough to get pulled over by them I strongly suggest to do what ever they say, no matter what, give them no attitude. Drool. What a way to start a day. Wait...does Vallejo even need a SWAT? What does SWAT do? Bombs? Oh, wait...probably Bank Robberies...so, yes, it does make sense. What am I thinking? Who cares! I'm just glad they are here...and the "regular" police too...yes. Why them? Well, they have been there on a couple of occassions when I did truly need them. Other times, they are not available in a timely manner...small car accidents or reports of random gun fire. Hey, it was '92, I was new to the V and not yet aware that this was not a #1 priority. Let's face it, no one really likes the POLICE. But why? Usually cause they are writing us a ticket thats gonna cost us for something we know we did wrong. Reality checks are a BEYOTCH. These @$$es once gave me two tickets over a two week period for speeding on the same street where they were posted with radar in the exact same spot. Idiots! I do like their website. Its been a few years since the incident with my sons car. Since then , whenever I drive around town, I can't help but see cars that are in plain violation Iike his car supposedly was. They are everywhere. And just like that abandoned car across the street from me, they are being ignored by the authorities. The reason that sparked my need to update this review was because I happened to drive by a car that was broken down on the road on my way to work this Monday. It was on a jack stand with the passenger front wheel missing. No big thing right? Well, not only was it in a "No Parking Anytime" zone but it was also parked RIGHT at the entrance of the Marriott hotel which is RIGHT across the street from 6 Flags Discovery Kingdom. I mean, it was less then a foot from blocking the main entrance. A piece of crap, rusted over, late 90's Accord. The worst part, I'm writing this review on Thursday and that car was still there this morning. Someone was working on it so I suppose they fixed it and drove it off. (Working on a car on a city street is a towable offence). Anyway, that meant that the car was there for 4 days and did not get towed. A car that was in plain violation of numerous codes and left in a high traffic area across the street from a huge Bay Area tourist destination. Remember, my sons car was in a residential area and parked in front of my house for less then 24 hours. A police officer doesn't want to bother doing the paperwork for a piece of crap car that won't bring the police any money cause that person appears that they cant afford the release fee. Also, the tow yard that works WITH the police don't want to take a piece of crap car either. Let me start off by saying that moving was the best decision ive ever made. It really didnt come soon enough. Here's the cliff notes version of my ordeal: Move out date from the vallejo apt. was May 26th. I wasnt about to wait till then, so i was moved out by the 1st. Since i had the place till the 26th, i left a few items that i planned on returning for. Nothing too major but stuff i still planned on keeping. So i return one night last week for the rest of my things.....and found that i was being robbed. Now mind you, im a petite woman and i was alone, i obviously was not able to tackle anyone to the ground. The guy had a knife (i believe my kitchen knife), shoved it in my face and told me to "walk away without making a sound if i know whats good for me." Shock doesnt even begin to describe my reaction. Before i could even process what was going on, the dude booked it. I hate that i was robbed but im thankful the guy let me walk away. I dont even want to think about what would/could have happened. Ive taken into consideration that i maybe should not have left my things unattended. But it was in fact my apartment still and ive never had a problem living there. Sooo.....in the end, the jerk made off with a couple of my electronics and my kitchen appliances. (seriously, kitchen appliances?) Frankly, im not worried about the stuff he took. All replaceable. I was more worried about 1). being killed, kidnapped or raped, and 2). my personal information being obtained and possibly identity fraud. And what did Vallejo PD have to say..........."its not an emergency so there's nothing we can do, right now with the economy things like this are getting put on the back-burner, even some missing people reports are being put on the back-burner, all you can do is file a police report online." The Vallejo police department actions Christmas day 2018 was found to be "...ludicrous behavior....without cause or reason to be on the property" as quoted to me by a representative of the local District Attorneys office. Evidence supports it was conspired to perform a home invasion, disarm me, coax my highly skilled highly trained K9 from my resident and shoot her to death upon exit from the home. They also laughed about the event and my emotional response to it. I was made to maintain a position I would be a close proximal witness. The first officer I encountered and more than half of those whom arrived on scene had personal knowledge of my work and being a security officer throughout the city for reason of personal contact during performance of my duties. Many had been told to vacate areas I have secured on the premise that private security holds a higher authority on private property than police do and either take an extreme offense to the fact or in many cases simply are ignorant of the lack of authority they have or represent on private property. As an acting agent for the property owner security persons have and may exercise the same authority said owner rightfully does and order police off the property.....many of them had been ordered off the Solano County Fairgrounds only months prior when a supposed felon they were chasing evaded them they continued to stay on the grounds, under the shade of trees, smoking and joking as other officers arrived and joined them 45 minutes after the supposed chase. I explained to them there was no longer any cause to be on the grounds as we dont have insurance to cover anything that may happen while not in the performance of duties or of an official business on the grounds. Just as expected from children they began to protest and posture in an attempted intimidation of me at which time I suggested I call the watch commander and have him express the matter. The watch commander was there and part of the group so I told him again the reason for need to vacate the premises unless he wanted to take a ride with me up to the Fair Associations directors office and have it explained further. They were instructed to leave amid much grumbling and expletives like children unwilling to do the proper thing. Incidents like these are the reason why the call for backup Christmas day indicated all vehicles arriving within seconds of each other and none taking longer than 15 to 30 seconds to arrive suggesting they were staged nearby awaiting to be summoned. I was armed, in the performance of my duties in security of the business of which I am a resident on the same behind locked gates and perimeter fence. The officer first encountered told me they were respobding to an alarm request by the alarm company which the alarm company denies and has no record of and further lied stating they had checked with the alarm company and were told there was no on site security authorized....again no record. A blatant abuse of an elder citizen under the guise of authority thus violating all peoples civil right to be free of unlawful search and seizure. I was arrested for resisting arrest which cant happen unless there is something to be arrested for which there was not. So falsely arrested and kidnapped to be unlawfully imprisoned all for what amounts to the whim and follie of those with no sense of decency or purpose about them. I rate the Vallejo Police Department no better than the maggot smegma they are and I blame all of us for letting them be that way never getting up the courage or integrity needed to stop them. Had any citizen opened fire on them that day they would have been in total inalienable right to do so by our own constitution to defend our nation against those enemies both foreign and domestic. This is the most incompetent police force I have come across. We had a woman shooting a gun in our apartment complex in BROAD DAYLIGHT while kids were playing less than 50 yards away. Called Vallejo PD multiple time and it has been over 4 hours with no response. This is not the first time they have been slow to respond, we have had several dangerous incidents happen to us over this past year...one being an intruder in our backyard and attempting to get into the house. They took a call back number and called 4 hours later and the officer said "well it's been a while they're most likely gone"...a fucking joke. read more

I am mentally fragile because I am in abusive relationship. I called the Vallejo police department non-emergency number to ask where I would go if the police took me in on a 5150. The operator said she didn't know. I said could I talk to someone who did know and she says no it's unimportant. Then I said well it's important to me and the officer has to know where he would take me. I asked for an example of what hospital I might go-to. I had no problem getting an answer on 911 and the cops that showed up were eager to help. Vallejo is a rough city. I would not want to live here or work here. VPD does the best job they can with their limited staffing and resources. For everyone bashing them, put yourself in their shoes. But you can not argue the difference between comparing public safety 30 years ago and today. 3 unidentified robbers (they were driving Blue Honda Pilot with no license according to witnesses) broke-into our SUV at Seafood City parking lot around 1845 hrs. Called the Vallejo Police Dept several times, nobody answered. The Security service there was no help either. They just pretty much suggested to file a police report online, which we did. It has been 24 hrs now and still haven't heard anything back from the Police Dept. Also, there were several individuals who stopped and asked us what happened. They also had similar experience at the same location and same response from the Vallejo Police Dept, which seems like became a norm to the society. Have to say, I've had good experiences with the officers. No emergency issues, but things that just are not right. The main issue I've had is with dispatch. I've found them generally abrupt and rude and mostly dismissive. Sorry if my issue didn't end in murder, but I still need assistance! I've used 911 and the non-emergent numbers. All 3 times we got an appropriate response for the situations. Once, the officer even came to follow-up and talk with us after he handled the problem.
