I paid €300 on the day for the alloy repair. (In the UK we pay at most £200 for an alloy repair. Today I have been chased for a bill of €1500 on top! Totalling €1800 in total. Absolutely crazy? Also when we collected the car there was already a scratch on a separate alloy we were not told about. Luckily we found it upon collection and reported it. What would have happened if we missed it? But the nightmare started when we landed in LIN in Milan. After 15 hours of flight, we landed at 2 pm on time and went straight to their LIN office. The agents said that Expedia cancelled us because the rental was supposed to start at 10:30am and we were no show for two hours (we told them that our flight was not supposed to land until 2 pm). Then we called Expedia. Expedia told us that they would never cancel a paid reservation without our consent but it was Locauto that marked our reservation as no show. Expedia then put me on hold to call their HQ office. While we were on hold, they resold our car to a walk-in for over $1000 (2x of what we paid for). After 30 min, the Expedia agent couldn't convince their HQ to reinstate our reservation or give us a new car. No one in the local office cared or tried to help us to find a new car AT ALL. The situation was like a setup and "we got you!". After 2 hours of waiting and running late for our wedding party dinner, we went to Avis next-door and paid $1000+ for a car and left. The Avis agents had never heard of the so-called "no show"-- you must pick up your car by the hour or you lose it even you paid for it for the whole week. It's been several days. Expedia agents still have not got the refund for my original $500 charge. They made 3x more money by selling my car to someone else while keeping my original charge and ruined our wedding trip! What a SCAM!

I have to say that everything turned out fine with my rental agreement, the car that I rented had damage on just about every area, so I suppose that the previous renters had to pay out for every little blemish, the car didn't look bad at all but when they gave me the rental agreement, it showed damage on every body part, including the windshield . I looked the car over very carefully because I wanted to make sure that I was not going to be blamed for anything that wasn't marked. They do pick you up from the airport very promptly and they will drop you back off. I returned my car a day early because I was very concerned about not getting a ride back to the airport and I was very concerned, especially that they were not gonna return my deposit as some of the previous reviews said happened to them. Like I said, this company is very very scary, no where did I read before renting this car that I had to leave $1100 deposit on top of my rental. I bought insurance through Expedia thinking that I was covered but this company doesn't care if you have insurance they will charge you to $1100 , unless you buy their insurance for $28 a day. I showed up and they didn't have the car I rented. they then tried to force me into a smaller car. Couldn't fit everyone in our group with our luggage. They then basically left us out to dry. Had to go back to the airport and rent another car for twice as much. They then refused to refund my deposit because they said I showed up late and they couldnt guarantee my car (which is an outright lie). Although this was maybe 10-20% cheaper than other options when I booked through the website, I ended up paying a lot more in the long run. Don't rent from this garbage company to save a few bucks

Though this is a large airport, it's (mostly) easy to navigate. We took the train straight to central Milan, and had no issues getting from our gate to the train platforms, or in finding restrooms or shops along the way. The biggest confusion came on our return; we were staying in an on-property hotel and lost a bit of time walking in circles before finding the entrance (but I do also think the hotel could have done a better job of describing how to get there.) The one big kerfuffle I'd mention would be the gate situation. The gate waiting areas are kind of small and get crowded, and the overhead speakers are not great - though I feel like that can be said for most airports these days. There was the usual crush to get lined up before boarding, which I just don't understand, and though the airport staff tried, they weren't able to get people to back off or queue up only when it was their turn.
