The location is convenient, and the high ceilings and tall windows are nice features. But the quality of living is pretty poor if you need to concentrate in your unit (it would be TERRIBLE place if you had plans for a home office) or if you enjoy peace and quiet and like to relax in the evening. Management just shrugs its shoulders about loud and disrespectful neighbors. They will tell you to--I'm quoting directly--"work these kinds of issues out amongst yourselves." So, overall, there is zero effort to enforce basic community standards and guidelines. If you do move here, you'll want multiple white noise machines and a brand of earplugs that you like. Maybe you will get lucky and not live next to gamers or frat boys or a family with screeching kids or dogs that bark their heads off...but there's quite a bit of all of the above going on in this building. Most people live as if they are living in detached structures with little regard for their neighbors. But it's really the fault of management; they could easily fine people for being noisy late at night. They don't care. I lived in many apartments for decades in NYC, LA, among other places. I thought I had a high tolerance for noise. But I probably should have taken other reviewer comments more seriously. Reading some of the other reviews I was nervous to move in here. But I have had very few to no problems. Well, it took me like a month (and a lot of phone calls) to get internet (my apartment hadn't been wired for internet and they told me there was internet upon move in and when I asked where the port was. I looked for the port for a solid week), and they never cleaned the windows like they said they would (with with windows going to the second floor you can't clean them yourself). Occasionally the gate doesn't lock. The bedrooms (and closets) in my apartment don't have doors, which is also a bit strange (certainly not roommate friendly). The glazed cement floor looks perpetually dirty. But all in all, a good experience. These were all relatively minor issues. I haven't had any issues with noise. I can sometimes hear the dog upstairs and the occasional yelling. But these have far been the exception in my experience. My electricity bill has been reasonable. I have a 2 bedroom/2 bath. For the months of June and July my electricity was $50, and $80 respectively, and I had the AC blasting. I don't know what the other reviewer was talking about when they said they had a $300 electric bill. Due to the structure of the building, my apartment stayed at like 70 degrees, despite turning the AC down/up to 75. I have had to put in two requests for things to be fixed, and both issues were fixed promptly and without issue. Well, three requests counting the internet issue. The quality of the fixtures is average to slightly above average. The dishwasher is a bit small, but cleans well. There is a lack of storage space in the bathrooms, and minimal kitchen cabinets. The amount of lighting is non existent in the two bedrooms. But these are relativity fixable problems. The courtyard is very pretty, and I haven't noticed any issues with dogs going to the bathroom around the building. The showers are also great. Overall, I would recommend this building if you like the industrial aesthetic. read more

Not the most cozy of places but if you're a fan of minimalistic lines, furnishings, and layouts, you will love Sixty Spring. They start in the mid $200's. Do yourself a big favor. Call AEP and ask for the billing history of any apartment you are interested in renting. It's completely legal and will save you so much pain! We lived at Sixty Spring less than a year in a 2bed/2bath apartment, from November to May. We never ran the heat and our bill was over $300 every month. I called AEP and they said that was normal for this apartment in the colder months. The parking deck is small so hopefully you drive a compact. It also flooded during a heavy rain. Renters pay $100 monthly to park under the building. Hiring an engineer to fix the drainage issues would go a long way. Walls do nothing to block noise from neighboring apartments. If you don't live beside someone with a dog or anyone that likes sports, you should be ok. Time Warner Cable offers great rates here. However, the internet went down all the time. TWC told us wiring in the building needed updating. 60S seemed like a bargain compared to other apartments in the area. But like they say, if it seems too good to be true it probably is. read more

So far I have enjoyed my time here. I love my apartment. I love the industrial/downtown feel. Very hard to find that now as so many places today build quick and cheap apartment complexes. Also, the rent is very reasonable for what you get and the location. We pay the same, if not less, than friends of ours who live 5-10 miles outside of the city. I feel like I am in a fortress here with the brick walls and concrete floors. It makes it feel very safe. The stainless steel appliances and granite counter tops add to the appeal. The lighting in the apartment is great with the high ceilings and tall windows. The best part about the apartment is the ceiling shower heads- spa style. Our leasing manager is AWESOME. She lives in the building which is extremely convenient. Any concerns we have emailed her about she responds immediately. We had problems with our A/C and they came out and fixed it within the hour. They have been more than accommodating with getting us situated as we are both from out of town. I love how they let you make your apartment your own. It is not often that rentals let you paint your walls anymore. You can really design your place to be however you want it. Having laundry in our unit and underground parking is a HUGE plus living downtown. All of the neighbors we have met are wonderful and such a diverse group. We are young professionals and have noticed other young professionals as well as middle aged and elderly. A really great community. Everyone has been friendly and the ones we have met lived there for years. The walls are thin inside the apartment, however, unlike other reviews I have read we can't hear anything outside of our apartment. We are right on the street and we can't even hear traffic. It is a GREAT location as I am three blocks from work, a block from the gym (which comes included in the rent), and a 5 minute walk to the Short North and Arena District. THE VIEW FROM THE ROOF IS AMAZING- the best view of downtown. They just got brand new grills up there that work great. This amenity plus the beautiful courtyard make it easy to enjoy urban living. Especially as a now ELITE reviewer, it's never my intent to write a bad or unfair review of a business--I hate having to do it. In the rare instance that I have written a poor review, I think I'm careful to make sure that I keep people up-to-date with honest information. Because of that I'm updating my review a little bit. The management has really tried hard to start making some changes and it's doesn't go unnoticed. The people that work here are nice. We had a little incident with the gas being off for a little bit--only affected our cooking. Someone noticed a potential gas leak and I really do think that turning the gas off was the best possible way to keep the residence safe, which is the most important thing. The location and the rooftop will always be the best benefits to living here. My apartment is cute, that makes me happy. Thanks to the staff for keeping the hallways clean and looking nice, and for being attentive to our safety. Additionally, I notice brighter lighting on the first floor--makes a big difference. Lived here for over 4 years. Location is great, you can walk to everything or it's a short cab ride away. If anything needed to be fixed, Tammy and her team fixed it within one day. She is always available and takes care of your requests without hesitation. The common areas are clean and maintained and the people that I have met are friendly and welcoming. The grill on the shared rooftop deck is great and I take advantage of this perk all the time. The units have free wifi and basic cable, can't beat that. I lived here for 2 1/2 years. I was a student at OSU and I'm also a Marine Veteran of 12 years. Despite the pandemic and OSU's adjustment of the school year the property managers were immovable on the lease. I had asked to move out a month early because my income was adjusted with the adjustment of the school year. they refused. Work orders were slow to be fulfilled and management showed zero interest in working with me despite extenuating circumstances. I was never late on my rent until the last month because I simply had no way to pay and still moved out by the 12th of the month. They charged me for the full month and every additional charge they could find, including a carpet cleaning fee for carpet I was told would be replaced and was. Let me be clear, after you sign the lease they will do NOTHING for you. All they care about is collecting rent. I would not recommend renting from any of their properties. read more

This is the PERFECT location! I have lived here for almost 3 years and can walk everywhere! German Village is just a 20 minute walk! Short North and Nationwide is only 5 minutes! There are all the fantastic restaurants on Gay St and now we have Hills Market just a short walk away! I love my apartment! It is unique! 22 ft ceilings! My neighbors are great and the ones who live on each side of me have lived here over 4 years! The underground parking is a huge plus! Especially now that winter is coming! The rooftop has gas grills and is a great place to gather with my neighbors and friends! Also I have gas cooking in my apartment! The complex has the feel of a neighbor which I love! It is an apartment building, expect to hear some noise, if you don't you are setting yourself up for disappointment. Overall it is quiet for downtown living. The location is perfect. These apartments are awesome to look at, but if you are looking for a cozy place to call home, this is not where you want to settle in. I have lived there for a year (recently moved out thank god!) and my electric bill has never been below $200 because the heating/cooling unit is so small it just keeps running even when you have the thermostat set to auto. The water bill wasn't bad though. It's very cold in there in the winter time, and it gets old looking at nothing but concrete. You can also expect that trendy cool zebra elevator to break at least once a day, which gets extremely, extremely annoying. Yes, the walls are super thin. When my neighbors go to sleep at night, I can hear them debrief about their days through the vent and they aren't even talking loud. I would also venture to say that at least 75% of the people that live there also have a dog, so if you're into dogs barking to wake you up in the morning you'll fit right in. Lastly, Chris the building manager is awesome, he will help you with whatever you need. Rebecca however is what I would classify as a "baiter and a switcher", so before you sign on the dotted line double check everything to be sure. If I were to give any advice, it would be to avoid dealing with this company all together, but if you do decide to go with them, 60 spring is the only property I would recommend. read more

This place is a slum hole...the apt has the cheapest ammenities, the property mngr. Tammy Popp is completely irresponsible and unprofessional. She was late both times we met with her and had an attitude that we were putting her out when she did finally show up to look at the apt. The rent is outragious and we were sent phony pics via email of a larger apt. to bate us into renting.... The heating ducts are out of balance... 68° will get you a sauna upstairs and an icebox downstairs.The refrigerater leaks and the dishwasher doesn't clean.... the faucets are cheap, carpet is old and dirty, the plastic 3"x6" vents on the only openings on these huge industrial windows....are cheap and broken....parking in the garage is extremely TIGHT ,and neighbors are unhappy and unfriendly, busybodies. We are simply trying to have a safe place for our daughter to live while she finishes her last cple years of college. Unfortunately her father just passed unexpectedly a week before christmas and her boyfriend drove up from cincinnatti to be with her in our hometown for the funeral....Tammy just sent a nasty email threatening to take her parking place away if she ever hears reports and pictures from the nossey neighbors of another vehicle being parked in her space even though Tammy was aware she was out of town dealing with her dad's passing. The apartment location is perfect- short walking distance to: Downtown, Short North, and the Arena District. The property management is responsive, quick to address issues, and flexible. Overpriced for the square footage and quality of building, which is utterly lacking. Other posters have made the point already, but I will reiterate: NOISY, NOISY, NOISY. Additional complaints: 1. Minimalist to the max. If this is your thing, you may love this place but for paying over 1K/month on rent, I don't appreciate having to buy an additional $700 worth of furniture to simply store my belongings in both the 'kitchen' and the bathroom. 2. Noise: I can hear the dog who lives 3 doors down from me bark. I can hear my neighbors having sex, crying, watching TV, using the microwave (!), the meowing cat with separation anxiety, etc; I can hear people getting on/off both elevators (they're at opposite ends of the hallway). Noise is a HUGE problem in this building. 3. Quality/Maintenance: my oven handle came off and the oven door separated, requiring repair; my kitchen sink literally fell down into the cabinet below; 1 of the 2 elevators is out of order/being worked on every two weeks or thereabout; stone pavers in the courtyard steps are completely loose, posing a hazard to all residents and guests (this issue has not been resolved, and I've lived here for 1 year as of today) 4. Communication between Corporate and residents is subpar. Example: I woke up one morning to find that the windows were being washed. Never received notification that this would be happening, which is significant because my ENTIRE North wall is comprised of windows. This demonstrated a lack of respect for resident's privacy on JDS' part. Also have had issues with notification that my unit would be shown by the leasing agent; simply an email saying it would be shown (no phone call or text message) and no permission to enter being requested. I've been here for about 4 months. The location is great for me since I work downtown. The apartments have that industrial feel that I like. I would give the place a 5 star if it wasn't for the thin walls, i might adjust my rating depending on my experience with neighbors that dont adhere to the noise restricted hours, but so far nothing really a tv or fan hasnt been able to cover up. Also some of the tenants are dumps. Ignoring the signs to walk dogs away from the building or throwing trash away in the recycling bins, but management can only do so much about adults behaving badly. I have to add that my AC went out and they had it fixed within HOURS of me reporting it. And on an 80+ degree day, I'm loving Tammy and her team right now. So I have lived here twice and I will give you my honest opinion of Good ole 60 spring. I lived here in a 2 bedroom with a roommate and absolutely loved it. Thought this place was amazing. Looked cool, all concrete and no carpet in living room/bedrooms which I loved. So when we went our separate ways I moved to Hilliard for a year and then decided to move back into a one bedroom. I read the Yelp posts and thought wow people are ignorant, that place is amazing. So here is my review of the one bedroom. I pay 1075 per month for rent, water averages about 17.50 per month and electric is about 74 per month. I get a parking spot in the underground parking garage which is hard to find downtown and overall it is a nice looking condo. I ran into an issue where stuff wasn't painted before I moved in, but just cosmetic stuff. So after six months, here is the issues that I have and you decide if it is worth you living here or not. The neighbor to my left when I moved in was a young couple who fought a lot. They were always fighting and I could hear them at 2-3 in the am when the got home from the bar. In October, they got into a fight at 5 am because he unblocked Paula from his Twitter account and his girlfriend didn't like it. So they moved out shortly after and in moved a single gentleman with a cat. A cat that meows a lot. Now I have nothing against cats so don't play that card.  So in conclusion, the walls don't block much. I met the guy above me and he has 2 dogs, we chatted a little bit and he said that someone next to him played loud music and whistles all the time. He can even tell what tune it is. So that brings up my biggest pet peeve. If you live next to someone with a subwoofer you mise well just assume that it is in your condo. I have a subwoofer but I keep it very low. Even at the very low level that I have it at, I am sure people can hear it. So take your luck on that one and just pray that you do not get stuck next to someone that has a sound system at all. You also will not get very good cell phone service and your wireless will not work well trying to fight thru the walls. I have submitted multiple and multiple complaints about noise and can at least say I have submitted or complained once a month. I'm not sure what is actually done, I was told a warning and then a fine but it must not be steep enough because it happens 2 - 3 nights a week and it's really bad on Friday and Saturday nights. My suggestion is to read a little bit on the condos downtown and see if you can find a better place. I promise you will regret moving in here and feel like you have no privacy at all. The people that live here are very nice, but I don't like giving up my personal space in my condo that I pay that much for per month. I have asked to get out of my lease as this is not the environment that I want to be in as a young professional who works a lot ad management told me it's "A family building, it's not going to be quite." Perfect way to keep people renting. Also another thing, one of the two elevators is always down, so plan your trips accordingly if you live on a high floor. read more

The location and the rental company and it's staff here are great, everything that seems to be a big pain in the butt relates to dealing with HOA. I wish the HOA would just let the rental company take care of things for the renters, because they are so much faster at repairs. All my problems inside the apartment are taken care almost always on the same day (props to Tammy and Heath). The exterior problems are slower. HOA took forever to repair the roof that leaked into my apartment (and others), the contractor forgot? to reseal my window in the summer and it still rains inside my apartment 3 months later. It makes me feel bad having to put pressure on to the rental company all the time when they are the "middle man" in exterior issues (flooding, leaking, etc). I know the people who work for the rental company are trying to get things done quickly, and seems like they keep getting push back from HOA (in my opinion). My advice is to make sure to make exterior/ leak issues known as early as possible. read more

The maintenance man came out to have a look, although he didn't look at anything, and said that this is normal because they didn't install large enough heating units, therefor they cannot keep up with the unit. He also suggested that I turn on all of my gas powered stove burners and use that as a second source of heat since the gas is provided free of charge. Really? Yes, really. read more

I lived here for a year only due to contractual binding, and have met only unhappy renters in this apartment. Finally, if you decide to live here, make sure you can live/sleep 365 days with listening to sounds of neighbors flushing, showering, watching/listening television/radio, paying high electric fees, wading through a flooded garage and apathetic management. The apartments are very nice looking. The location is decent.. although even being downtown it feels like you are far from certain things. Most of the stuff within a block or two of this building are big office buildings, and a lot of the places to eat are only open when the office workers are around (this is definitely improving over the last couple years though as more and more people move downtown). Parking is plentiful but not free when the meters are on.. keep a bowl of quarters handy so people don't feel like they have to pay to come visit you. I haven't had any trouble with the staff. Rebecca is great and so is Chris (the "concierge", who becomes the "building manager" once you sign the lease and they put the advertisement brochures away). Packages are all delivered here early and they are brought to your front door (inside or outside if you don't want them coming in). The building feels secure. The other people in the building are all pretty friendly. You'll see plenty of people around the hallways and out on the roof deck. The deck is a very nice place to hang out when the weather is good, and you can reserve it if you want to have a group of people over for a cookout. The cable that comes with the apartment is not HD, since you don't get a box. It might depend on exactly where your apartment is, but from ours the wireless internet is pretty miserable and cuts out all the time. From the number of other networks that show up, a lot of people seem to give up on it and order their own service. It's free though, so I wasn't really expecting much. The reason I give it two stars is because of the awful sound proofing. I have lived in several apartments, and this is by far the worst for noise. This place is twice what I have paid for any other apartment I've lived in, and the building looks like a fortress/warehouse, so I thought things like noise reduction could be assumed. This goes way beyond typical noise complaints that come with all apartment. Dogs, cats, loud music, quiet music, normal tv listening, normal levels of conversation, sneezing, crying, opening the kitchen cabinet to get a plate out.. you will get to know your neighbors *very* well, even when they are nice and considerate people. If they aren't nice and considerate people, good luck. The doors also offer zero sound proofing. I have gotten used to this over time, but at first it startled me several times to have it suddenly sound like someone was walking though my apartment, especially when I woke up to it. Ive had numerous things go wrong with my place, including washer/dryer broken(3 weeks), oven broke(4 weeks), leaking sink(4 weeks), leaking pipe(6weeks and still going) the floors were dirty as in muddy when i moved in had to mop/clean four times until i would walk without shoes on. Maintenance told me the leaking pipe was condensation and it happens, uhh no not for how much these places cost. The only person worth talking to is rebecca, the leasing agent. Ive never been so disappointed in the customer service of any management company. Please save yourself and dont lease from them. You will regret it deeply. read more

I wanted to get on here to voice some support for 60 Spring. I actually checked out this yelp page and the reviews before I decided on a place, and I was a little turned off about what I read. I've been living here for 5 months now and I couldn't be happier. What people have been saying about the noise issue is true but a bit overblown. When I'm inside my apartment I don't hear much at all, although in the hallways sound does travel. My only other complaint is that some of the units don't have windows that you can open, but the ventilation is very good so that isn't a problem. For those of you who have actually lived somewhere besides your home you should know that it is difficult to get a good landlord or find a place where you have no complaints. The management has been very attentive to my requests (name in buzzer box, questions about utility bills) and the place couldn't have more upside. It is perfectly located between downtown and the arena district/short north to the point where I rarely drive anywhere anymore. There is little out of reach of a $5-10 cab ride if you are too lazy to walk. The tenants generally keep to themselves but can be quite friendly. The price of the place when you combine it with standard utilities is very reasonable and there are plenty of amenities. The modern commercial loft look is really nice, my large windows provide a great view, and everything is relatively up to date. Honestly, this is by far the best place I have lived and I have spent time in more than a half dozen residences since graduating. I rent at another JDS/CitySpace property - The Jeffrey. At surface level, while these units have virtually no cabinet/counter space - we were excited to move in upon relocating to Columbus. After 1.5 years - I would not recommend my worst enemies seek leasing shelter at The Jeffrey or any JDS Companies property. Tenants consistently smoke in their units. Tenants don't pick up after their pets on the grounds. You can complain all you want - but management isn't on site and their is no ramifications associated w/ breaking rules. Trash - shoots constantly back up all the way to the 3rd floor especially on long weekends - think smells and mice! The secured parking gate is constantly breaking which can make exits an frustrating exercise. The gym and tanning bed are a joke - but I guess you could call them amenities. Be prepared to pay handsomely to break your lease. Standard practice I guess but you can't sublet FYI. They will gladly take your penalty and let the unit sit vacant as there is no hurry to advertise and show units. Which is interesting since people flock in and out of this property like freshman's flunking out of college first semester. One of the largest homeless camps is nearby the property too which makes for interesting neighbors. Would I recommend a friend, co-worker, family member, worst enemy seek leasing information on The Jeffrey or any CitySpace property? Think not! read more
