Jones Center …read more.. there's ample parking ... two locker rooms ... six showers and plenty of toilets (which is always a good thing); however, the main attraction for me is the Power Aquatics Program offered Monday - Saturday at 10:00 AM. Amy (Mon., Wed., Fri.) and Diane (Tues., Thurs., Sat.), the instructors, are proficient and engaging. Each workout is different and often incorporate a 'tool of the trade' such as noodles, kickboards and dumbbells. The pool is well-maintained and though classes are large, there is always plenty of room for kicks and punches in all directions! I found participants to be welcoming to a newbie like me. Many of us started the program following replacement and/or repair surgeries where PT left off. I attribute my increased range of left arm/shoulder motion, strength in my right (totally replaced) knee, as well as improved balance to my aquatic workouts ... the water is so forgiving. Classes can be purchased as a series of five ($25.00) or ten ($50.00) and must be used within three or six months, respectively ... the first class is free. The neat thing about this feature is that classes can be taken at either Jones or the pool in Park West. Power Aquatics has become a priority for me. Try it ... you'll be hooked!

Super fun place for my 5 year old, he requests to go to this park specifically :) There are also tennis courts attached so bring your racquets. Parking is designated on the side, and free of course which is great. There's also a wooden seat around a big tree and a gazebo for parents to relax. Wonderful park! Take your kiddos!

My husband and I have recently gotten into rock climbing, and we decided to bring our gear along with us on a trip to Charleston. We did some research, and found this hidden gem of a spot, located inside the Outdoor Zone of the beautiful James Island County Park. A climbing pass will run you $15, and it's an extra $8 if you need shoes and a harness. Online reservations are recommended, but you can walk-up as well. Note that you also have to pay a fee of $2 a person to get into the park itself. Our group of four was scheduled for a 5-7 PM climb on a Thursday, and we practically had the space to ourselves, except for the on-site climbing team. Lucas was helpful, and gave us a quick walk-thru of the space and their on-site rules. They use the figure-eight knot rather than carabiners for their belay routes, but they have several auto-belays of varying difficulties! When you get to the top of the main wall, it's a surreal experience. You are literally the same height as the trees! I'd happily return the next time I'm in the area, and highly recommend the James Island climbing wall to anyone who's looking for something fun and active to do outdoors!

Even on the rocky spots, it is still easy to walk/bike as it's pretty smooth. Some of the trail is covered in the woodsy areas, but it is mostly open. Love that parts of it are along the water. I like to start at mile 8.2. Although, the parking lot is small and can fill up quickly on a weekend morning.

I had…read morestopped by Staples to mail a package and the weather was amazing for a January late afternoon and I just started walking. I love the historical nature of it and how the city has created signs to teach you about the history. I walked about a mile and a half and then turned around and walked back. Lots of after school teenagers going on their run, families on bikes, and regular walkers like me! The West Ashley Greenway is a wonderful asset to our community.

The lines weren't too bad and they finally put out more stations for you to make s'mores. My kids enjoyed the climbing wall in the merry go round and even got to see Old Saint Nick himself! Like always the park never failed to bring a smile to every child's face and we look forward to being back there next year.. our trip there though was a whole lot better then two years ago which took us 4 hours to get in versus the 18 minute ride this time.

Notably absent, or unable to be located, were any bathrooms save for a porta potty by the entrance. Those just aren't doable when you have young kids with you. I did not find them to be more expensive than any other shops I have been to. It all seemed fairly priced and they have gone above and beyond what was asked. If you want to do it correctly and do not know what you are doing with your bike, others may want to cry about it but that wont adequately fix it. As far as their "Sobar", it is super chill and 80's night was busy and fun. They had snacks and such floating around too and my lil one had a blast. Cannot imagine why someone would rate them below 5 stars - you gotta be mad at the world.
