Brought my grandson to see Santa here as the example pics I saw them post looked so cute but, when my grandson was talking with Santa he said he made a mean comment about me as I was speaking with the photographer to make sure we got the pics we needed for ourselves and his mother. Apparently he said to an eight year old child, "Wow, so many directions, is she always like this?" My grandson wasn't amused and said, "Santa's not supposed to say mean things." Was overcharged for everything I bought in the shop. Two bunches of tulips clearly marked as $8 a bunch and I was charged $36 and a magnet that was $5 was charged $13 I watched her scan the wrong barcode twice. Don't want to assume but I was the ONLY POC there and this has happened before and it being WA doesn't surprise me. I will NEVER go back. Although I've been hesitant, I am compelled to leave a review for Skagit Acres. My family and I have visited the nursery four times in the past two months, hoping to find some new inventory, but we've always been disappointed. We've seen a better selection of plants at Home Depot or Lowes. Despite being a local Skagit County family trying to support a local business, Skagit Acres has let us down. Although the employees are friendly, they have informed us that they are no longer selling merchandise. However, we have been going to Skagit Acres for the last couple of years and have always found an extensive inventory. Unfortunately, now it's almost like walking into a ghost town. read more

This used to be our go-to nursery. The café was also good, and it was fun to dine inside the greenhouse. The business was purchased by a local investment group in 2021 and they have totally ruined it. The prices are higher than any of the other nurseries in the area, the once lovely merchandise selection is bare, the grounds are overgrown with weeds and the customer service is awful. I recently purchased a large concrete planter which turned out to be much too large for my front porch. I called the very next morning and asked to exchange it. At first I was told no, but after assuring the person on the phone that I didn't want my money back, only to exchange to planter, I was told I could bring it in that day only and get a replacement. Great! That's what I wanted. Once I arrived I was told that since our conversation earlier that morning, the manager had said no to the exchange. What?!? I asked to speak to the manager and was told she wasn't in. Ok, I asked for the manager's name and the employee told me "That doesn't matter." She also refused to tell me when the manager would be available. I sent an email to the general email address on the business card, and after one full week I have not heard a peep. Skagit Acres has definitely lost a customer. I also will not patronize their other businesses: Tulip Town, and Skagit Landing restaurant. read more

I am probably judging for the wrong reason - I read an article on the great "garden" they have and it is showing its age. You can see where there was a small water fall and stream but it is dry. Nothing overly exciting in the "garden section" that make it worth a stop. If you are down the street - possibly - but not a destination point for visitors to the area. The nursery looks OK - but not worth a trip since you can probably get everything in your local area. read more

The Root Cellar Gift Shop next door is stocked with interesting, fun and colorful gifts for just about every taste. They even have a nice selection of Vera Bradley bags and accessories. Skip the cafe. Really, it's not good. We started with the seasonal soup which was delicious. Then the sandwiches. I had a turkey sand that was suppose to have cranberry and cream cheese on it. The cream cheese was spread so thin I only, barely, tasted it in one bite. There was a tint of cranberry color but none to actually see or taste in the sandwich. What a blah sandwich with some of the main ingredients missing. On top of that the chairs are very uncomfortable. They are maybe patio chairs? Anyway, they are so low we felt like kids at the adults table and I am average height. The bar of the chair dug into the backs of my knees. When we got into the car to leave my friend and i could both still the indent of the chair in the backs of out knees. Last time for that place. read more

We stopped here after visiting the tulip farm. We came early in April, and it was quiet and seemed like not everything was set up yet. However, they still had quite a bit to choose from, and a large gardening shop outside with a large gift shop inside as well. The "cafe" is more of an espresso stand with a few weird looking, overpriced drinks in a case. I would not go here for the cafe, but if you are desperate for a drink while you are there, it serves its purpose. read more

Good selection. Pretty standard prices. Pretty nursery. Update: upon planting the arbor vitae we were excited to buy on sale ($7.99), we found that they were severely root logged. I'm a novice gardener & wish they had warned us that the roots were in really poor shape! We had initially planned to return to buy another 20+ plants, but will not due to this experience. We have since found less expensive arbor vitae with much healthier roots at a different nursery. read more

Pretty good selection of plants, but a bit lacking in basic gardening supplies. For example, I was unable to buy a basic clay pot, they only carry designer types. Nice display gardens. Gawd-awful color on the side of the barn, but I guess it turns heads on the freeway... Not my first choice of nurseries, but close to home. read more

Regardless of price, customer service is paramount!!! These people really need to learn this! Tried to purchase a ticket to an event they are having and was told cash or checks only. Well, I had the cash, but due to the clerks attitude, I chose to walk. Will NEVER patronize this place again!!! Gave one star because you can't give NO stars. read more

My grandma and I had went here for lunch on a Friday afternoon. When we got there we were ordering and they were pretty much out of everything. Then we went to go get some water and it was so hard to get out both me and my grandma got only half cups and I tried to tell them they were out, and I got completely ignored. Then we finally sat down to eat and when I was almost done I had found hair In my food. My grandma's was fine. Then we went to get refills of the water and doing so they still had not filled the water jug so I went up there again to tell them they finally filled it up. But when she came up with the water jug and it was filled with "weeds" and it made the water yellow, and gross tasting. Then I had asked them where is our dessert she was nice and said let me check on it but by this time me and my grandma Both had finished eating and were waiting about 10mins. So I went and sat back down. We finally got the cheesecake after waiting for a good 5 more minutes. And my grandma had to clean off the utensils because they had stuff on and when we went to take a bit of it was not stirred enough and you can still taste the flour or whatever they had used to mix it. Oh and I forgot one thing we had to take our own dishes to the counter and the people working their did not come by to see if we needed anything. I think the best part of this trip was the lollipop I had gotta with my meal because it had nothing to do with the restraunt. Not to mention there were no bathrooms and it was really expensive for what we had ordered it was not worth it and I don't think I will be coming back. Twice is enough, a year ago wife and I went for a quite lunch soup not hot and service slow Yesterday had the worst BLT ever and at $14.00 you would expect more than that..... and very slow service I mean like 1 person doing everything slow. Too much money for what you get. We will not return.... May be a good place to buy plants but not a good place to eat. They should stick to gardening stuff and get out of the food business.. read more
