Was impressed with their selection, although comparing their price for this to other shops for this same succulent, they're a little high. I didn't compare their prices for other things. While they had a few almost the right size rectangular planters, they weren't exactly what I've been looking for. Would definitely recommend checking it out for options for plant needs. That being said I like local shops, and I'd go back to Mushtari for hardware needs or to have a coffee - if you walk in, the middle of the store has a nice cafe! Check it all out!

Instead, they are 1-2 tones lighter/off-tone (I am a fashion designer, so I know about my colors). It is so ridiculous that this is known to them, that their Sales Associates are instructed to tell the customers that this is the case!! They shouldn't sell that paint! But BEFORE I understood this, when after buying the darkest Grey color they had (2129-20), and getting home to find out it looked much lighter than the color chip, I decided to try again and went back to buy BLACK instead. My 2nd sales guy simply said to me "Why don't you just buy the Black from the shelf?" (He also said they were the same price...). So I said, thinking he was just trying to make it easier on himself since it was end of day, "No, I just want you to mix my designer Black paint (2132-10)". He never explained that the paint colors wouldn't match... I went home to find out their BLACK paint looks Dk NAVY!!! To make things worse, after wasting $50 for the 2 cans of paint and a frustrated weekend trying to paint my little bookcase, I went back to their store to explain what had happened. I didn't even expect a refund, just a simple aknowledgement. BUT I guess, at Scheman's hardware store, the customer is never right. The manager didn't even want to hear my version of the story. Instead, he believed (wrongly) what his sales associate said... (He of course said he told me that the paint colors were not going to match the color chips). Terrible. Just terrible. It's about 6 months now I had the house painted with this brand paint. The…read morepaint has peeled off the same way stickers peel off. It doesn't last at all. And I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. If the paint job was over a year old then I'd understand the quality changing but it's not even a year yet. I'm going to have to repaint every floor with new paint. Unfortunately we used it on multiple floors. Costly and a waste of time.

In the category of business names that invite annoying jokes about how this hardware is not your favorite, the new name gets 5 stars. A locksmith, and a hardware store in general, is one of those annoying things that you inevitably find yourself needing, and more often than not can't find a good one that's open late enough after work, is close enough to your house, and all those other things that frustrate you about locksmiths. So I was pleasantly surprised to find one literally on the same block as my apartment building. The first time I went in, I was trying to get a key duplicated, and they said they couldn't do it for me. I only realized later that it was one of those annoying keys that only your landlord can duplicate, so I definitely don't fault the hardware store for this. I'm pretty sure most places wouldn't have been able to do it either. I haven't had many occasions to go into this store since then, but I did go in again today to buy bubble wrap. The guy working there (who I think might have been the owner) was very friendly and helpful, but the small roll of bubble wrap was $15, and it was just a fraction of the amount I could have gotten at Staples for the same price. At first I thought I was the only one who found it expensive, but I was just talking to my super about what I'll need to move out of my apartment, and he warned me not to buy them from this place because of their prices. With that said, this is obviously a mom and pop spot, and I have to wonder how else you stay in business as a hardware / everything store that is rarely buzzing with customers, in a neighborhood that is quickly gentrifying and no doubt raising the rent. Though My Favorite is probably overpriced, I'd like to think that they make for it in convenience, character, and neighborhood charm. If you're in midtown Manhattan looking for bubble wrap, I don't think I'd send you here first, but if you live in the hood and need a deadbolt for your apartment door (which we all do, don't fool yourselves now), give My Favorite a whirl.
