Okay my first impression of this place was that it is perfect. For what I was looking for in a place to stay, Skaneateles Suites worked very well. The job that my wife and I have requires us to work some rather odd hours so when we do stay somewhere being able to sleep at some rather odd hours is always a bonus. And by saying being able to sleep what I mean is people checking out at 10:00 a.m. with their kids running up and down the halls making noise and the hotel staff cleaning the rooms sometimes having loud conversations. All of this is perfectly fine usually because typically nobody is trying to sleep at 10:00 in the morning except for me. This place worked out well because they have individual bungalows. There is no hallway to run up and down and make noise and make noise, there are neighbors but there's a space in between each bungalow so you're not going to hear them. We didn't actually check in for my Friday night stay until about 8:00 a.m. Saturday morning. It was nice and quiet and we were able to get to sleep rather quickly. The room itself was super clean, The kitchen did not have a stove or a hot plate however we weren't really in need of one. They did have some snacks available as complimentary in the room. Nothing huge I mean a couple granola bars and some oatmeal and a couple little bags of chips however compared to other places I've stayed that offer nothing except a vending machine down the noisy hallway... Yeah this was much better :-) If you're looking to do something in the Skaneateles area , this place is literally 2 minutes down the road from the center of town. They of course offer a late check in arrangement that I was very happy to take advantage of. They leave your room key in a secure area with a note that has any information you may need and an emergency phone number if you need to wake them up for anything. So I by all means recommend staying here If you're in the area. read more

We rented the main house. The location is excellent, sandwiched between downtown Skaneateles and Auburn. The bedding was comfortable, the house was clean and well stocked. They permit guests to have dogs and our house showed no evidence of pets. I would not recommend the ground floor master suite to an elderly couple only because the ceiling height is dangerously low above the commode and both my husand and I almost knocked ourselves out more then once when decending and ascending. Our niece and nephew had a rough night due to street (truck) noise, our other upstairs guests heard the street noise as well but were less bothered. My husband and I had no issues sleeping. We had a fantastic getaway and after seeing Skaneateles Suites on TripAdvisor, I knew I had to book a room. I was proposing to my now-fiancee and we stayed the night before the I proposed to her on the Skaneateles Pier. We stayed in one of the Jacuzzi Bungalows, and the suite was spacious and clean. The bed was perfect, and we definitely enjoyed the complimentary snacks as well! The suite even has its own patio area with a couple of chairs, which was lovely as well! A minor issue we had was trying to connect to a wifi hotspot, which was a bit challenging, but didn't detract from the coziness and charm of the suite. We'll definitely be coming back! read more

This review is for the bungalows, which are great because they are separated and there is no noise from rooms next door. There are so many fantastic things about this place, so I will list some. 1) They allow dogs! And provide treats when you check in. 2) There is a lot of grass and space around to walk if you do bring a dog. 3) They give you snacks, sodas, and orange juice in the room. 4) They leave a detailed/helpful letter with ins and outs of the place, the town, etc. 5) You don't have to go in the office to check out, they will just run your card on your check-out date 6) The website is okay, and you can books rooms online. 6) The rooms are clean and come with cable, fridge, kitchen space, sitting area AND a private little patio area 7) I didn't actually meet anyone because I arrived late to check-in, but from the letter and a phone call they seem very nice. The only not-fantastic things were the water pressure. The water pressure in the shower was so bad, just a trickle. This was true throughout our stay, anytime of day or night. And I love a good shower. I would definitely stay here again on my returns to Skaneateles. read more

I stayed in the bungalows of Skaneateles Suites when in town for a wedding back in the summer. I had booked online (this being one of the few places in town where I could actually book and confirm a room online) and so didn't have much idea what to expect. I was very impressed with the bungalow and the way that the hotel is run. The personalized letter explaining details about the facilities and area was much appreciated and check in was super-simple. The room itself was clean, so spacious, and clearly well taken care of, it's not luxe, but is quite well-appointed. I only wished I wasn't traveling alone with a heavy schedule of events so that I could have taken advantage of the jacuzzi. Other high points for me were the free snacks and beverages, including microwaveable oatmeal so I didn't have to worry on the breakfast front, the easy wifi that allowed me to stream video from a baby shower I was missing back home, and the proximity to town and the wedding. The owners clearly take pride in their property and take great care of it and their guests. If I'm ever in the area again I'd stay here in a heartbeat! read more

My wife and I are staying in Bungalow 5 as I write this. We're in a clean and near brand new unit with kitchenette just outside of Skaneateles. Nice big single room with fold-out couch, small eating (or working) area, nice firm bed, nice outside patio, clean bathroom with a jacuzzi-type tub. We're staying midweek, and the price is sweet. Very sweet. You want charm? Find an inn, pay twice as much (or more, much more), and imagine you're in a world that really doesn't exist in most inns. Or B&Bs. Or outside your mind. Tell you what. Stay here, save some bucks, imagine you're at an inn, and then enjoy the clean room and bathroom, the free Wi-Fi, the cable TV, and then every 15:00 or so, just pretend you're having a real conversation with someone who's staying at the same place you are. Then go into Skaneateles or anywhere else in the area to experience real life. Capisce? By the way, if you're looking for valet parking here, you're in the wrong state of mind. read more

Stayed here this weekend with my husband. We had the tree top suite, which is above the office and laundry area. So there was a little bit of noise in the morning but nothing crazy. We were about 10 min from auburn about 30 from Seneca falls. Room was clean and some snacks and water and soda. The manager always had a mask on and was very friendly. Stay as far away from these charlatans as far as you can. We booked a hotel room in February for an event in September - 7 months out. The very next day (within 24 hours) we found out we couldn't attend and canceled. When we to got the credit card bill there was a $25 cancellation fee assessed. 7 months of lead time and they assess a cancellation fee? Yes - if you go to "About" and drill down to the "Policies" tab, you'll find that policy. But there is NOTHING about the policy on the booking page. NOTHING that warns you about this totally outrageous policy before you push the button to complete the transaction. And for what - exactly what did the proprietors have to do to warrant charging a fee that no other hotel chain with which we've been associated has ever charged? 24 - 72 hours advance cancellation, this is typical and I can understand, but 7 months. Really?? Lesson learned - from now on, we will drill down into the hotel policies before considering a booking. AND we will never choose to patronize this disreputable organization again. read more

Great price / Twice as nice !!! I love this place! I was in the area to visit my daughter in January and stumbled on this wonderful place and had no hesitation about returning again this weekend for my daughter's wedding. Friendly and responsive staff. Excellent spacious accommodations, complimentary snacks, with kitchenettes and coffee making supplies and even instant oatmeal for a cozy breakfast. Lovely setting with up to date TV and wifi features. Each bungalow is unattached to neighboring rooms so there's no sound of people thumping around above or beside you; no doors slamming. No traffic noise to speak of either. Convenient location less than 2 miles from town center. I highly recommend Skaneateles Suites on its own merits AND as a winning alternative to the more obvious and overpriced places. read more

Every time we've visited the finger lakes, these are our absolute favorite accommodations. Friendly staff, spotlessly clean, quiet & convenient. After a day in the wine country & the Amish country stores, the in-room jacuzzi is a great way to unwind. If I could give 6 stars I would. read more

We are usually more than happy to randomly find a motel on our frequent rambles from Montpelier to Mobile that has air conditioning, hot water, towels and enough distance from the road that the semis don't make you wake up in the middle of night thinking there'd been an airstrike. Mostly we seldom go out of our way to look for a huge room, complete privacy, cool landscaping, a funny and genial host...and an in-room jacuzzi surrounded on two sides by mirrors. But when we found all of the above when we stumbled on Skaneateles Suites, we became instant believers in prime lodging at a reasonable price. Anyone looking for a vacay in the Finger Lakes, maybe wanting to visit the vineyards on the easily reachable lakes, but not into forking out big bucks for an "inn:" The Suites is your home base. read more

We really enjoyed our stay at the suites! We were traveling with 2 dogs, and the mowed yard behind the suites was a great place to walk them. The suite was immaculately clean and well appointed. We loved our private patio where we could relax and enjoy the beautiful landscaping. The friendly, attentive staff was readily available when needed. The only issue we had was regulating the a/c during the night. A ceiling fan would have helped. We will definitely stay at the suites the next time we visit Skaneateles! read more
