My family and I ventured out to Skate Galaxy around 1:30pm on a Sunday afternoon. I wanted to like it here, because I LOVE to skate, but that just wasn't the case. First off, the blonde lady taking our entrance money was amazing..super kind and let us know the closing time right up front. The guy with shoulder length hair that was handing out the skates was not nice at all. He generally seemed as if he didn't want to be there. And would later prove that. The rink was definitely a throw back and nothing had been modernized for a very long time. There was also hardly any seating at all by the time we arrived. Good thing we skated for a bit until a half bench opened up. The rink was okay. There was a dirty broom stowed at eye level in a corner on the side with the screen, which I thought was pretty gross. Overall the experience was alright. They did have games and the blackout songs were fun. About 20 minutes prior to closing the guy with the long hair proceeds to tell my husband and children they need to get up from the bench so he can sweep. My family was so shocked. There were so many people and it was still so busy (and he wasn't asking anyone else to get up and move) My husband said something about them not closing for another 20 mins and the guy says "Well if there wasn't people spilling popcorn on the floor I wouldn't have to sweep! So rude! Needless to say we will not be returning to this rink.

Free skate lessons at noon every Saturday

We have been to several birthday parties here and also I've been bringing our grandson to free skate lessons on Saturday. It's a great way to introduce a child to some physical activity and get them away from the video games LOL They have a family skate package on Thursday nights for $29 that includes dinner as well. Up to five people. Pretty good deal for some family entertainment

They allow teenagers to speed skate around children. The management won't do anything about it.

Like there's a silo (I think that's what it is?) right outside the venue and also train tracks right outside too. It definitely feels like you are in a more or less secluded area, even though it's very much still in Edmond. The ground outside the venue was mostly large gravel up closest to the entrance, and small gravel further away (like where most people ended up parking). It wasn't the most level ground, which made it a bit difficult for those of us in high heels! It also didn't help that it had rained earlier that day, so there were tons of puddles... so many that you could barely avoid stepping in dirty water, not to mention the wetness paired with the gravel paired with tall shoes just made for a slightly wobbly walk inside. Not the worst thing ever, but if I were the venue, I'd definitely consider paving more of the ground outside to counteract this! There is a small deck type thing out of the front. They have stairs and also a ramp up to this deck which leads to the front door entrance. Inside was smaller than I expected it to be, but it definitely fit everyone that came to the wedding and the reception. It has sort of a mix of the cute country vibe and the fancy warehouse vibe thing going on. I believe you could see the bricks inside, and there were also barn doors on the windows just for example. There was a small balcony in the back. From what I could tell the only way to get up to the balcony was by stairs. Then through a hallway in the back they also have bathrooms and a groomsmen room and bridesmaids room. Because the ceremony and reception were both here, we had to all go outside to wait for them to switch from rows of chairs to tables. I'm not sure if the venue itself was in charge of doing this, or some outside third party, but it didn't take too long (maybe 10-15 minutes). Luckily, we had food and a coffee bar to keep us occupied while waiting for this switch.

Tenderloin Bruschetta - 5/5, absolutely delicious. It seemed strange that the bread wasn't toasted, but the flavors were so good we didn't care. Tomato Bisque - 4/5, solid but unremarkable. Nothing against them, a tomato bisque is a tomato bisque. Filet/Ribeye - 4/5, the quality and the sear was great, but it was lacking any sauce. The server said "Chef" can make us some, which I was excited about but it was really brand. We did blind tests trying it with or without the sauce and we couldn't tell the difference. Even spooning it directly into my mouth, it didn't taste like anything. It was still a nice gesture to make us a sauce, but we were expecting something a bit more impactful - a red wine reduction, a garlic butter sauce, a béarnaise, or even a vinegar/Worcestershire/brown sugar/blah blah etc. would have been fine. I won't hold this against them though as it was impromptu and I realize some "fine diners" probably consider me a heathen for complaining about sauce on a high-quality steak. Dessert - 4/5, solid but unremarkable. Nothing against them. Ice cream is ice cream and a cheesecake is a cheesecake. Our server had great attitude and was diligent in her service. Altogether, it was a wonderful experience. Too pricey to visit frequently, but great for special moments.

I loved Park House the restaurant, and had many fun times there, but I do think that this spot being an Events Center is its rightful place as a treasure in our city. Architecturally, this place is so beautiful, and also such a great set up for an event location. The bar area is naturally separate from the rest of the restaurant, so a cocktail hour is easily contained within the bar and cocktail area. When it was time to open up the assigned seating, which fanned out from a fun dance floor and DJ area in the middle of the room, we found our seats easily and could see the head table and all the action on the dance floor. Offering a panoramic view of the Myriad Gardens and the city beyond, you get both the view of the park and all it's natural beauty, plus a view of the Colcord, the Devon tower and the rest of the city beyond. I can't think of any other place in the city where you can find such a perfect mix of natural and manmade beauty nearly everywhere you like. If you're a little bit country and she's a little bit rock and roll, this is the wedding and reception venue of your dreams. Add to that features like a great set up for guest drop off and valet parking, you'd be hard-pressed to find a better location for private events in OKC.
