My nieces love going to rollerblading. The skating rink in Yukon is a bit cheaper, but this place is in close to where we live. This place is a reasonable price ($10 for admission) and you can skate on Saturdays from 1-4:45. We stay the whole time, and the girls love it. We love the rollerskating game they play, the black out times, and overall the establishment is clean. Bathrooms are alright, probably should be updated. The parking is not the best, it's tight, but they have a parking lot. Employees are very sweet and they even have a couple of arcade games they can play to win prizes (almost like chuck e cheese). read more

My family and I ventured out to Skate Galaxy around 1:30pm on a Sunday afternoon. I wanted to like it here, because I LOVE to skate, but that just wasn't the case. First off, the blonde lady taking our entrance money was amazing..super kind and let us know the closing time right up front. The guy with shoulder length hair that was handing out the skates was not nice at all. He generally seemed as if he didn't want to be there. And would later prove that. The rink was definitely a throw back and nothing had been modernized for a very long time. There was also hardly any seating at all by the time we arrived. Good thing we skated for a bit until a half bench opened up. The rink was okay. There was a dirty broom stowed at eye level in a corner on the side with the screen, which I thought was pretty gross. Overall the experience was alright. They did have games and the blackout songs were fun. About 20 minutes prior to closing the guy with the long hair proceeds to tell my husband and children they need to get up from the bench so he can sweep. My family was so shocked. There were so many people and it was still so busy (and he wasn't asking anyone else to get up and move) My husband said something about them not closing for another 20 mins and the guy says "Well if there wasn't people spilling popcorn on the floor I wouldn't have to sweep! So rude! Needless to say we will not be returning to this rink. read more

We have been to several birthday parties here and also I've been bringing our grandson to free skate lessons on Saturday. It's a great way to introduce a child to some physical activity and get them away from the video games LOL They have a family skate package on Thursday nights for $29 that includes dinner as well. The owner engaged me with hostility claiming that I am the one marking up his floor. I'm a slider from Detroit and my wheels leave a resin trail sometimes that comes up when the floor is mopped. The owner is ignorant of the nature of the harmless wheels that are used to slide. I can only guest by his accusation and hostile nature that he has tried to slide and failed epically at it and now has it in for anyone who is skilled at it. The floor is that harsh concrete and it is marked with divots and blisters I last skated here 3 years ago and not much has changed. I wouldn't recommend this rink to anyone and the hostile nature of the owner make it a place to avoid at all costs. read more

Amazing! Why has no one reviewed this place? Oh yea, let me say "UNDER NEW OWNERSHIP!" First of all the skating rink is huge. They have massive screens playing videos of all the songs they play. There is also an extensive snack bar that will order you a pizza hut if you are so inclined. I had my bridal shower here. It was 1980's Jem and the Holograms themed. We dressed up in our best off the shoulder sweats, threw on our skates and had a blast. We threw the DJ a couple of bucks and he played our jams no questions asked. According the husband and wife team who just took over this place, they have a lot of over night events, all day skates, and are working really hard to keep it clean and safe for kiddos of all ages. Like any skating rink you've got some bad kids looking for trouble, or in my case, to steal all the cupcakes and candy off my 80's candyland table. But for the most part the kids were well behaved and weren't skating out of control. In case you get a craving, there is a 24/7 whataburger next door... I'm just sayin. For $300 you can rent the place out after closing for up to 50 skaters and DJ. THAT is fantastic. Now if you're like me and you want a wholesome event all ages can enjoy, a retro skating party is where it is at! Kudos to my s-i-l Jess who set it all up. read more

Would highly recommend going to Skate Moore over Skate Galaxy. The facilities (and most importantly the staff) offer a lot better customer service. 20 of us drove over 45-minutes from across the state just to skate at Skate Galaxy (because of the great reviews), just to be turned away because a party had reserved a spot 2-hours prior. Even though it's 2019, I was told by the manager that Skate Galaxy has no way of communicating this information beforehand to it's customers. I had called the night prior to confirm availability. We all showed up, then were turned away. We tried to find a way to make this work, and pretty much was disrespected by the manager and the entire high school staff. Long story short, do your research, save your money, and avoid Skate Galaxy at all costs. (Can someone please bring back the Rockin' Roller Rink?) read more

Went for Sunday Famiky skate. No employees on the skate floor. But there were plenty of adults racing and scaring little kids. And lots of toddlers skating in the wrong direction. I guess management feels they have done their job since they post "skate at your own risk" and only charge $6. What a waste of time. Won't be back. read more

Went for the New Year event. They announced that hot food service ends at 10, which is ridiculous in its self, which was in 15 minutes I went and got in line, was in line for 16 minutes, NOPE, too late you get nothing. If you are going to be open until midnight then you should have food service open later, and definitely if someone got in line but slow workers make you get to the front one minute late. So we had an all around pretty good experience here but there was a few little minor things that they forgot but if you just tell them they forgot something to fix it right away they were very nice and very polite the only thing is is I felt like there was just too many parties going on at once. They had too much going on and they were a little bit behind but still pretty good I would go there again but I would ask to see how many parties they're having that day and make sure that they aren't overbooked. read more

I give this a two not because of the staff but because of the owners. Staff is fine and the place is fine. It's a skating rink. Crappy hotdogs and pizza and a couple of arcades. The problem is if you come on a Sunday afternoon with your children to teach them to skate they squeeze another $5 bucks out of you for the PVC skate crutch to aid the kids in learning how to skate. OWNERS- don't you think you should encourage folks to learn to skate so they come back? Or does that make too much sense for you? Still think the crutch should be free. (That just makes sense to me) but have been coming here regularly with my children and it is a great place. Staff is top notch! read more

The rink was really nice and big yet small enough to wear you could get off pretty quick if need be . I feel that the arcade games could be a little upgraded or just have them working . The popcorn was awesome if you like buttered popcorn you will be in heaven. My friends and I had a great time over all watching each try to skate and then fall . Really fun for anyone read more

My daughter learned how to skate here and for the second year in a row we are having her birthday party here. The staff is always courteous and we have a good time. We went to a birthday party here and won't go back. The facility and rental skates were nice enough but the skating experience was terrible. They offered a learn to skate class before the session that we went to. They did not teach how to skate. They spent 30+ minutes teaching you how to fall and get up but never taught how to actually move. My biggest complaint is the stupid skate walkers. They are basically pvc snow plows. The rink was full of kids racing around the rink with these stupid things, literally plowing people down. One of my daughters was shoved down multiple times and ended up sitting out with an ice pack. I asked if they had any "walker free" sessions and was told no. All I can say is that after that experience, I will never go to any skating rink that offers those stupid walkers. On a side note...I took my 6 year old to a different rink that doesn't have walkers and she was successfully skating on her own in less than 30 min. Those walkers are not needed to learn how to skate. She had more fun skating without it than with it at the birthday party. read more

Very, very rude management. Recently had a birthday party there for a 5 year old and we were treated very poorly. The manager/lead on duty was very rude, impatient, talked down to us, and could care less about our experience. Even before we had the actual party, we were not thanked for our business, they did not communicate well and still, the manager DID NOT CARE AT ALL. That was our first time at Skate Galaxy & we loved the atmosphere, however we will not be back. If this is how Skate Galaxy treats their paying customers, we will save our time and money and go elsewhere. read more

Had my daughters 7th birthday at Skate Galaxy today. It was a complete BUST. The staff was completely unorganized, we were supposed to have a "host" and we had to look for the host the whole time. The party started at 1:00 I was supposed to have 2 tables set up and had to ask for my 2nd table to be set up upon arrival. Then we didn't have a host until I complained to management at 2:00 pm and the party was over at 2:30. I expressed my frustration to the manager and he was very argumentative and unwilling to admit fault or give us a price break for their terrible service. So I have had two of my children's parties here now and the first one was okay , but my second experience here was not so great...the lady that was helping us was a little rude to begin with and on Saturdays they are beyond packed with parties so much so that they flip tables with no bumper space for either party. We waited 40 minutes to get our second pizza out which caused delay in our cake time. We were told we had 5 minutes to clear our table and my child didn't even get to open her presents. I was told by a gentleman to ask the lady up front if my child could just open her presents really quick and she said yes... I get back to the table and my daughter opens literally 1 present and in front of EVERYONE this lady in an extremely rude manner walks over and asks us to leave the table immediately....I told her that I had walked up front to ask if we could open presents really quick and was told that was okay, she responded with , you can open your presents just not at this table... After the amount of money I spent (which was quite a bit) we ended up in the back of our truck bed opening presents and left afterwards so my kids didn't really even get much skate time. I had a party of 30 or so people and I was so incredibly embarrassed in front of my family and friends. They took off 1 pitcher of pop for the inconvenience ....needless to say I will not book another party with them. Hope no one else has this experience with their party. read more

Absolutely Fantastic!!! We had my son's 6th Birthday party here and it turned out great. Booking online was extremely easy. The staff contacted me 2 days prior to confirm everything with my order and any extras that were needed. The staff was SUPER NICE and attentive the entire session. The Pizza was really tasty also. This is a great place to skate. My kids and I are frequent customers and love the atmosphere. I recently bought a new set of skate wheels from Brian, one of the owners. He was extraordinarily helpful in selecting the wheels I needed, installed the wheels for me, and even did a thorough "tune up" on my skates to help with my derby training. Skate Galaxy used to be an average place to skate. I've been coming here since I was kid, back when it was Comet Skating Rink instead of Skate Galaxy. Now I'm bringing my great nephew here. My experience yesterday was extremely disappointing. First, they made me pay for a skate rental even though I brought my own skates. Not sure what that was about, that's never happened before. Second, the actual skating experience was awful. They now allow young kids to ride scooters on the skating floor and let them go whatever direction they want. It's quite dangerous, especially when the kids fall off the scooter and they go one way and the scooter goes the other. They also allow adults and kids to walk on the skating floor. "Skate at your own risk" has a whole new meaning now, since you have to dodge scooters going whatever direction they want and people walking on the skating floor. I guess that explains why their skating floor is in such bad shape. It's not well taken care of at all. I'm not sure I will be skating here anymore. read more

I would highly discourage anyone from taking advantage of this deal. I purchased three where I intended on taking my 9 year old and his friends there for his birthday. Nothing on their door or website says you cannot take in birthday cakes. I purchased the one for my family and two more for gifts as it allowed. When I arrived they refused to let us take in his birthday cup cakes. They don't sell birthday cakes or I would have purchased one. The owner came out to reinforce the policy that they don't allow cup cakes in unless you purchase a birthday party. Which I already knew. I told him if he felt good about that fine, then he proceeded to tell me that with my attitude he didn't even want us there, then offered to refund us the groupon, after I said fine lets do that because I don't like your attitude either he refused to refund them and tossed the paper in my face. I said if you don't refund them then we are going to come in and skate. We conceeded and took the cupcakes out to the car and planned on passing them out on the way out. I told my husband about what had happened and he tried to talk to the management team and got no where. An appology and leaving us alone would have helped or just letting us take in the cup cakes. After he talked to them things only got worse they approached us twice instigating arguements we never approached them, they approached us in front of our kids and guests. This made it very akward to deal with, along with their rude behavior. They then threatened to call the cops on us so I asked them why, and they said I wasn't displaying family friendly behavior. But they were constantly following us and instigating arguements.... I was holding a baby of less than 1 mo old minding my own business. I just wanted to let my guest play and have a birthday party for him. They then asked me to leave their facility, I gladly packed my son up in the middle of his party and told the guest I had to leave. I have never ever been so embarassed or degraded in my life. They were on about how they didn't make any money off of this deal and they didn't want to refund me somehthing that they haven't gotten paid on. I told them that I didn't make the offer with groupon they did. I wouldn't suggest this offer. It isn't even worth it! read more
