There are several trails to explore here at Skeggs Point. Even the shortest hike will be 6 miles. Its all pretty steady and easy with beautiful Redwood Trees and just calming nature. The paths are mostly shaded which is a super plus for me. Who wants to hike in heat?! The Sandstone Formation is a must! Its a unique site to see. Quicktip: Don't forget to grab a map offered at the entrance!

Skeggs Point parking lot is clean, free, and has picnic tables in case you want to sit for a snack before you get your butt to hikin'. El Corte de Madera Creek Preserve is one of the most beautiful places on the Peninsula to hike. I went here a week ago in search of the infamous plane wreckage (which I believe has been swept away by the rain :(). I love the Sandstone features off the Tafoni trail! Incredible. I had a great workout and my joy was not at all dampened by the rain.

Nice Tafoni trail with shades for summer trail. Do complete the tafoni trail and for trail loop for a 6.5 mile moderate hike. Not much vista views but definitely cold breeze and mountain bikers awaits your hiking trip.

Its a rewarding but challenging hike through towering redwoods, lush ferns, and a peaceful creek. After the last few rain storm, this trail is super wet and slippery. I highly recommend good pairs of boots and hiking poles. The Manzanita and Gordon Mills trail has a moderate elevation gain of more than 1600 feet and some serious rocky terrain. For me, it offers a great hiking challenge while I still enjoyed a mix of adventure, nature beauty, and tranquility. You can also choose a different and shorter trails to explore and experience while hiking. This preserve is very popular for hiking, bird watching, and mountain biking. So bring your binoculars to see! The name of the park is derived from contractor Martin Wunderlich, who donated the land to San Mateo County. The Good: * Free to visit * Parking lot * Picnic tables available * Restroom in parking lot * Seventeen miles of trails, including several loops. * If you like horses, then this is the place for you! There's a really cool old historic stable and lots of equine action to be found. * Camping available (https://www.smcgov.org/parks/make-reservation) The Meh: * Currently, no recreational horse activities like trail rides and lessons are available. * Crazy elevation gains, as trail elevations run from ±350' to over 4,300'. Be sure to check the trail guides to make sure you don't get in over your head. * No dogs allowed The Ugly: * The restroom has no running water, just hand sanitizer. * I'll admit, I'm not a fan of horses, and having to share trails with horses isn't my idea of a good time. Conclusion: Not the biggest park in this area that's full of fantastic OSPs, but it's certainly worth a visit--especially if you're a hippophile.

While the shop appears to excel in its core rental business--reflected in consistently positive customer reviews and a strong reputation for providing a smooth, enjoyable rental experience--the same level of performance does not seem to carry over to its sales and customer communication practices. In particular, the sales process felt less organized and attentive than expected. Communication around product availability, follow-up, and overall customer engagement could be improved to better match the high standard set by the rental side of the business. Clearer, more proactive communication and a more structured approach to sales would likely enhance customer confidence and satisfaction. Given the success of the rental operation, there is a strong foundation to build upon. I would suggest that by aligning the sales activity that has been primarily driven by the 2025/26 AVA rebate program to closely match what has been demonstrated in rentals would significantly strengthen the overall customer experience. In addition it appears based on investigation additional costs to consumers ( shipping and to some users higher assembly costs) were added when submitting a sales request via the AVA program. Based on these experiences I would not recommend using Pedego for the reminder of the 2026 AVA program.. I hope this constructive feedback is helpful and contributes to continued improvement.

They've settled in nicely and now have a nice inventory. Apparently, they've been a staple in Santa Cruz for some time. Anyway...about my experience yesterday. I stopped in on my way to my old favorite store, just to see if they had what I needed. I have already checked "In-Stock" inventory at the other store and knew they had the Park Tools Chain Tool that I needed. I was surprised that they not only had the model the other store had, they had two other models. One of higher quality and one of lesser (a starter "lite" version of a chain tool). I still went with the one I was originally looking at, but it was nice to see the options. I didn't expect to have that much of a choice. When I stopped in, there was only one employee working, but it didn't feel that way. He was helping a gentleman at the maintenance counter, a lady choosing a bike for her son and me all at the same time...and doing it well. I was even amazed that when I asked if they had chain tension clip (a small hooking clip that holds the chain where you need it while working with unconnected links). He simply said, "We usually make them out of old spokes...give me a minute and I'll make you one." It took two, but it was the perfect length and he made it for me for free. What a deal!!! While I don't expect them to have everything I will ever need...I usually have very specific needs for cycling gear, components and bikes, I will always check them first going forward!!!

I went back to the bike shop and this time the replaced the cassette, total charge of $330. However, the issue persisted immediately after my first ride I returned the bike for a follow-up repair (third time is a charm I thought ), they kept it for three weeks. After that long wait, the manager simply told me they couldn't identify or fix the problem. Despite charging me a significant amount for a repair that didn't work, they took zero responsibility, offered no refund, and abruptly told me to take the bike and leave. I remained respectful and calm throughout, but the lack of technical knowledge and poor customer service was shocking. As an avid rider who has visited many shops, I've never experienced such a lack of professionalism. Save your time and money--take your bike elsewhere.
