Pro-tip though, whether for yourself or someone else, a gift certificate to this place is Ah-mazing. There are two ways to record shop: scour yard sales, antique stores, etc. with fervor, or go see the professionals that have already found great records in likely great condition and pay more for that service. Enterprise obviously falls into the latter category and 4 records, at least for what I usually find, can easily get to $60. Now, if you have a $40 GC and only need to drop $20? Awesome. Hell, maybe I'll just buy myself some $30 record because I can. Now, some people say the owner can be rude, and I'd probably use the word curt, but even that was probably 1 or 2 occasions (we're all allowed to have bad days) and I've never found him to be overtly rude. He's also pretty old school... like he's probably literally been in the record selling/collecting business for at least 30 years. He's very knowledgeable and has always been happy to assist me, but know that this is not Newbury Comics or Tower Records (do those even exist anymore?). More than that though, I think his collection is unrivaled in Portland. Visit the other guys too. The more records stores that exist the better and they'll certainly have things he doesn't, but if you can only visit a couple, make sure this is one of them. Hoping Enterprise lasts a lot longer in Portland.

Eclectic but sparse inventory for sale, and mostly overpriced. I pulled two LPs that said "ask for…read moreassistance" on the slip covers, so I did, and asked the owner to open them so I could inspect the vinyl's condition and ensure the inserts were included. He complied but also seemed annoyed, saying over and over that he always graded accurately. Sorry dude, but I don't know you, have never bought from you, and am not going to pay $$ for used vinyl without inspecting it first. Given all the alternatives available these days, I probably won't return.

So much easy, free parking in their huge shared lot. 2. There's a Starbucks-adjacent cafe. NOTE: it's NOT actually Starbucks though, so you can't order ahead or pay with your app. Just a heads-up! The cafe portion of the bookstore is spacious and clean, with the tables themselves also being spaced quite far apart from one another. It creates a real sense of privacy no matter where you sit! 3. The atmosphere/layout here is very modern and inviting; the selection itself is enormous. Genres are clearly labeled, and there's a tremendous amount of content available no matter what you're looking for (so be prepared to spend some time here wandering around and taking it all in... then you'll probably have to come back, because there's no way you'll actually be able to take it all in on the first visit!). They've got new releases, popular books, recommendations, board games, and more. And, of course, the random armchair for you to sit and peruse your possible purchase. Obviously, support local first. But if you're looking for a slow-paced, wide open, very quiet, very tidy spot to spend a little bit of time (without feeling rushed or forced to purchase something) finding your next favorite read, I'd suggest visiting here!

I scored a genuine leather flat cap from Meyer the Hatter for $25. When I got home, I looked up the original price and it was $125! Huge steal. I then also grabbed a vintage 90s style striped fleece henley long sleeve for $20. They had your usual vintage clothes and shoes but they also had everything from MTV Raps cards to every little accessory you could think of. Everything is neatly organized by size and color, which made browsing so easy and honestly so enjoyable. I really appreciated how intentional the layout felt. And then the second room... not only do they have 3 dressing rooms but HELLO NOSTALGIA. They have a TV and a Super Nintendo setup where you can literally play Super Mario in between shopping. 10 STARS. I swear shopping here healed a tiny part of my inner child. On top of all that, the women working were really sweet and helpful. Weekend Vintage is an absolute gem of a place. I'll definitely be back.

A perfect mix of contemporary and classic books, Green Hand is a magical bookstore. The staff is friendly and welcoming. On the day we visited, we took the number 1 bus along Congress Street, but it's also easily accessible on foot. We almost missed it because of the scaffolding outside, but we were so happy we didn't lose the chance to visit this local treasure. And it IS a treasure. It was recommended to us by the kind folks at Print, a Bookstore. I highly recommend it.

They definitely seem to lean more towards history/war/military and older books. If you are a fan of those types of books you could find a lot of hidden gems I am sure. Also beware space is limited so be ready for for changing directions or getting out of the way if other patrons are nearby. Shelves upon shelves of books with some taped to papers letting you know the section you are in. While it does have some order in this sense at the same time it's chaotic mainly due to crammed space. Can't really speak to value all that much as I did not see the prices for many books and honestly I would not have a good sense of the actual value of the books either. As I said a must visit for book lovers in or visiting Portland to lose yourself while browsing. You can tell a lot of time and effort went into building this collection of books!
