Came here to rent some skis and the process was super easy. Everyone was super friendly and there's plenty of parking in the back. You're able to extend your rental just by calling them and they're more than happy to accomodate. Their rentals are a little older and i had to switch out my first boot rentals because it didn't support my feet well enough when skiiing but my replacements worked great. My friend brought us here because he told us they have good prices and they rent snow clothes. When I saw the very little reviews on Yelp I was surprised there wasn't more. I guess people just don't know about this little hidden gem. I took a picture of their prices shown below. (Jacket and pants were $15). My friend was bummed out the pants had no buttons. She told the staff but the staff just wanted to know if it fit and it did, until she went out to the snow and walked around with it. She made it work though. The jacket was cute too. We went on MLk weekend after a week of snowing and it was a busy day. Even though the whole house was full of people, they got people in and out. They worked as a team. Each did different things and it flowed well in terms of efficiency. We ended up buying a bunch of things there because the prices were so good. All four of us bought ski goggles. We got a snow head band (whatever that's called). And I forget what else. We paid for the gear when we returned it. They said we could return it same day or the next day which is awesome. Didn't feel pressured to hurry back the next day. We were late about half an hour returning it in the morning but they didn't even give us a hard time about it or even mention it. I even got 10% off when I checked in! :) My husband said his feet hurt for some reason when he went boarding so it kind of ruined it when going down the ski slopes. We told the lady and she said that was unusual. She couldn't figure out why. They also turn the position to the left or right a little depending whether you're goofy or regular. My husband is goofy and they turned the left side slightly to the left and the right side was straight and he wasn't used to this compared to other places he has rented. It threw him off and he couldn't maneuver how he usually does on the slopes. She taught him to tell places where he rents that his style is duck style that way they can adjust it accordingly. Good to know. Appreciate places where they teach you something new. Definitely coming back to this place when we're back in big bear. Can't beat their prices and easy return. My friend just text me and told me she left her ID in one of the jackets she rented. She called them and they looked through the clothes rented that day and mailed it right back to her. Now that's service! "They were really sweet." Made her day and saved her $45 or whatever amount to replace her ID! read more

Small family run shop. Not a lot of parking in the back, so if it's snowing a lot or a busy weekend, it may be tough to park in the lot in the back. The equipment is older, but it gets the job done. I did notice though that the boots were a little stinky. When I arrived and I said I had a reservation, the young girl who works there couldn't find it, but she had no problem just signing us up there and then. Customer service was a little interesting I will say. I get it's a mom and pop shop but the customer service skills were a little lacking. Decent pricing though and I had a fun time on the slopes. I unfortunately wouldn't choose to come back to this shop though. read more

Booked here for our day trip to Big Bear. Reserved beginner ski packages for my 5yo daughter (5th time skiing) and my husband and I (1st time skiers, regular snowboarders) for $17 each! We arrived right at 8 am and were out of there within 20 min. They offered a military discount which was great. The gear was a little dated but worked just fine! we all did lessons and when I mentioned to my coach that we just had $17 rentals he was surprised and said as beginners anything extra we'd pay for performance packages wouldn't be worth it and to definitely stick with what we had at least for the rest of the season. Reading some of the other reviews, I noticed a few negative experiences as far as customer service but that was definitely not what we saw. Ski Haus will definitely be our go-to for Big Bear trips! read more

The only reason we went to this place was because the other rental places were out of stock. We were a group of 8 that rented snowboard packages. As soon as we got here, no one was there to greet us and tell us what to do nor any signs. One of the customers had to tell us what to do. The tall old lady Beverly(I believe is her name) is the RUDEST worker and has THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE. She was rolling her eyes and yelling at my group. She doesn't seem happy with her job or life at all. No wonder this place isn't as busy as the other rentals. Now upon check out, another lady was helping our group. I later found out I was charged $87 for 3 basic snowboard packages. Snowboard packages only cost $22, so $87 for 3 people doesn't add up even with tax. I called the store to explain my situation. The lady(she said her name was Beverly) that answered the phone just told me "Okay I think we're done here!" How dare she treat her customers like that. She was ready to drop the phone without fixing my concern. If this is your way of solving customer issues, then you shouldn't be in business. If you want to retain customers, you better change your staff and learn CUSTOMER SERVICE. We wouldn't come back to this place as there are far better rental businesses with better customer service. Definitely not recommended and take your money somewhere else. I'm giving this place 2 stars instead of 1 star only because the man named Austin that was getting our boards ready was super nice and accommodating. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE Hands down worst business I've ever been to. Went with my girlfriend to rent skis and boots for her. Both of us ski and she wanted some higher end equipment so we asked for the sports package. After sizing her wrong three times with 2010 model boots and not knowing what mondo point sizing even is, the old lady (owner) tells us they don't have what we want and yells across the store (their done!) after this we went and got demo rentals down the street and had a great three days on the mountain. Here is the kicker. They call us five days later asking when we will be returning the skis...how on earth do you run a business and not have accurate records of what inventory is out? They are clearly an old mom and pop shop who refuse to update or learn as new tech comes out. read more

Just randomly chose this place as they had decent reviews, were very close to Snow Summit and looked not so busy. Got the performance ski package for myself and a basic set of skis for my 11 year-old son. My skis looked sort of beat up for the performance package, but I'm not that picky. I would say that they didn't really carve or seem waxed very well, but that wasn't really my issue. My son's package was more the issue. When we got to the bottom of the first lift and were putting on our equipment, he had one boot that kept popping out of the binding. I had to take it to the rental shop on the mountain to get it fixed. It was 20 minutes of hassle, had to remove and then put all the gear back on and they charged me $10. Annoying, but stuff happens, I just figured I would save the receipt and hope they reimbursed me when I returned the skis. So at the end of the day I brought the gear back and mentioned the problem. The teenager working said that it was because the binding was set on "beginner". That makes no sense, the boot is still supposed to stay in the binding. Just because he's a beginner doesn't mean he should use one ski. It literally would not stay in enough to even move forward. The husband then comes over and tells me that it was probably my fault because I didn't remove the snow from under the boot. I told him I've been skiing over 50x and we hadn't even done one run, so I'm positive it wasn't the snow. He's basically chewing me out in the store. Then the wife comes over and tries to be more customer friendly asking what the issue is. I explain it all again and the husband tells her that I want the $10 back, even though I didn't remove the snow from the boot. How the hell would he know??!! Bud, let it go. The gear was pretty dated, no big deal. She nicely gave me the money back, but that dude was sour as hell over a measly $10. A better customer service experience would have been to apologize and offer some bigger discount for the hassle. I literally just wanted the $10 and some sympathy, instead he just wanted to deflect any responsibility. Would NOT go to this store again. Lots of options in town for the same price. read more

Went here because it was close and got decent reviews. I have no idea how they got good reviews. This was the worst, albeit, strangest experience I've had at a ski/snowboard rental shop. we got there at 7:56 am (opened at 8:00), but there was a bright, big open sign, so we headed on in. The older man told us they're not open and to wait til they were. Kinda weird with the open sign and the unlocked front door, but we waited the 4 minutes til they were open. I recently sold my ski's to get ones that would fit my needs, so I went for the "sport" package. The first boots they gave me were nice enough, but there were 2 sizes too big. I told the teenager working there, that I need to go down to a 23.5. She looks at me in confusion and says they don't have half sizes (the shoes I had were a 25.5). clearly she doesn't know what Mondo sizing is, nor do they differentiate between men and women's sizing, because mine were clearly a size 7 M. I gave up explaining and asked for a size 5 M. Now these boots were clearly very old and used. I pointed this out, explaining I got the "sports package". Now the lady comes in and tells me these are brand new, high end boots. I ask for another boot anyway, at which point the older male asks for my size, and then hands the 25.5 (7M size) boots I had already tried. At this point, the older women's upset and says we need to go somewhere else -- they don't have what I want. The older man was still trying to figure out boot sizing, and the women exclaims, "they're done here", and we awkwardly pick up our stuff and leave. I have never been talked to so rudely as a customer. I went to Blauer and picked up some skis from there without a hassle. Days later I get a call saying I haven't returned my rentals. Thinking this is Blauer, I state that I returned them appropriately. They explain they never got a credit card from me or anything. Finally realizing this was the first rental, I explain I never rented from there. She hangs up and that and she hangs up. I have never been to a place with so many incompetent teenagers and adults. I have no idea how this place is still in business. By far the worst customer experience. read more

Wow! What a great place to rent equipment. We came up weekend of 3-15-19, I booked some skis for my son and I and we picked them up the day before with no wait. We were greeted with a smile and were out the door in less than 10mins. It has an older mom and pop feel, which some would have a problem with as the equipment may be a little older, but it worked just fine and we had a blast up at summit. The lady at the front asked if we were staying 2 nights and she said feel free to bring them back the next day when they opened, so we could enjoy the last night of night skiing. I really liked that they were a staple in the community and weren't like the really expensive place around the corner. Would I rent again from them vs all of the others, you bet cha! Hats off to companies who can proclaim Bible versus on their website and be proud of what they believe in! Very knowledgeable in helping me chose from Ski Blades and Snowboards. Picked up my blades on Friday and was going to return them sunday night. A storm ended up coming early on Sunday so i decided not to go snowboarding. Came to return the gear on Sunday around 1pm before i left to go home. The owner (the lady working, forgot her name) heard me on the phone telling my friend i didnt go up the mountain that day and she decided to not charge me for Sundays rental. A couple of years back I came to this place to rent a snowboard and boots. It was the cheapest place then and it was the cheapest place now. For $20 I was able to rent a snowboard and snowboarding boots. They have very helpful people working the front. Just tell them your height and shoe size and they start to work on getting you the best snowboard and shoes. If it's your first time snowboarding, they take the time to explain how to use the equipment. Their shop closes at 5 p.m.; however, they let you drop off your equipment the next day before 9 a.m. with no extra charge if you don't get there before closing. They not only rent equipment, but they have everything you need to have a great snowboarding experience. Furthermore, we noticed that they sold tire chains for $80 for trucks; we thought this was cheap because my boyfriend spent $100 for chains at Pep Boys. If I don't buy my own snowboard and boots by the time I go snowboarding again, I will definitely use Ski Haus again. read more

Terrible service and their boards and boots are old. Tried to save 10 dollars by renting here and ended up costing us an extra $25 as we just had to rent a board that fit at snow summit (better quality board there also) The board they gave my wife was way too big and did not hold her boots firmly on the binding. When I told them that the board they gave us did not hold her boots down, the owners response was basically sorry its your fault. When I told him we don't even want a refund we just want to let you know that you gave us a board that didn't fit her boots, his response was again sorry it's not a real issue. What!?!? I was so shocked I didn't even know how to respond. Save yourself the headache and rent from a different store. read more
