Delighted with my first visit! I was a patient at this location when it was owned by Dr. Downey, who retired. I was a little nervous about the change because I really appreciated the people at the practice, but my initial exam was great. Both Dr. London and Maldonado took the time to meet me and get to know me, which you pretty much never see with a doctor these days. They've also begun upgrading the equipment the practice uses to state-of-the-art technology, including a scanner that images the entire internal structure of the eye, allowing them to conduct a more thorough exam as well as to track eye health over time more accurately. Another positive change is improved speed and a confirmed date by which my new glasses will be ready. In the past, this sometimes took a month or more. I was genuinely surprised when, during checkout, they provided a slip saying my new glasses would be ready in less than 2-weeks. Awesome! Another bonus I discovered was that if you pay out of pocket for your eye care needs, they'll but you a break on the cost. They didn't need to do this for me, and I was surprised to see a discount on my exam. If you're a prior patient of Dr. Downey, I think you're going to be really happy with this upgrade. If you're new to Tahoe and need good eye care, give this new practice a try. You won't be disappointed. read more

I highly recommend Ski Run Optometry. I had carelessly poked myself in the eye with my eyeliner pencil, and needed an optometrist immediately. Their wonderful staff fit me into their schedule within the hour. I was seen by a Dr. Kellie London, and she was not only thorough, and efficient, but compassionate, and reassured me I was going to be fine. She took pictures of the inside of my eyes with an Optic machine, which was pretty cool seeing my inner eye images on screen. Everyone was welcoming, friendly, and professional. I have already made a future appointment to get a full eye exam. I recommend this establishment to everyone. I know my eyes are in good hands from now on. First I want to thank Dr. London and staff for amazing customer service and quality eye care. I came in with a script for reading and long distance glasses from a recent exam at a Sutter opthamology center. When the glasses I selected came back my vision was blurred in both. When I contacted the office Dr. London immediately offered a free exam. She took her time and was very thorough. She concluded the script from Sutter had over-corrected my vision, and sent the glasses back out to be fixed. I have to say she worked a little bit of magic. I'm 77 and these are the best glasses I've ever owned. Both reading and long distance are crystal clear. I'm thinking about ordering two more as backup, and getting prescription lens for my sunglasses. I highly recommend this practice. read more

SCAMMERS!!! They double charged me & my insurance when I wasn't supposed to even pay a penny and tried used my allowance without my consent as well! Then they tried to cover their mistakes up and blame it on the insurance when they were really double dipping from the both of us which is fraud lol since they took from my allowance that means I had to pay more out of pocket to them for contacts that they were over charging me "btw" lol hands down the worst optometrist in Tahoe which such horrible attitude when they were in the wrong! I would never come back here again. The customer service is horrible. I purchased contacts and was told after I bought them that they would be in a week from now. I was under the impression that the contacts were in stock because I wasn't told other wise. Besides that, I ran out of my contacts and asked for a trial to hold me over since the contacts weren't in and we're running late. I asked if they could tell me when they would come in and I was told it couldn't be tracked. They didn't provide a trial without telling me that I needed an eye exam (which my insurance would pay for) to do so which made no sense since I got my contact exam from them. They just wanted to bill my insurance. Long story short, it took more than 2 weeks for my contacts to come in and when I came in and to pick it up they asked if I wanted an eye exam. I told them "no" and that this was not a good customer experience and explained why. The lady at the front desk started arguing with me so I took my contacts and left. The worst customer experience I've ever had a an eye doctors office full of unprofessional people. read more
