But now, after a year selling that property (owned it for more than four decades) and of getting wonderfully settled in to New York City (which I love!), I want to do some summer weekends of painting or scrubbing or doing whatever helps the club lodge stay as great as it is, now that the dining room accoustics have been fixed. I won't let anyone go outside barefoot because it's a sticky nasty mess. The second reason is that I got this room because after weeks of traveling I am dying to cook a meal while looking at these gorgeous views. The room doesn't supply anything!! No pots, no pans, no silverware, no sponge, no glassware.... It has zero stuff in any of the cupboards. So if you are staying here and order food ( ask for silverware) if you're staying here and want to make some sandwiches for your family beach day.... Run to the store because you will need everything! Including paper towels. I don't get having a kitchen that you can't use. Do people actually travel with pots and pans and knives? No... no they don't. If the kitchen was stocked it would be absolutely perfect.

In the AM a traditional Bacon and egg breakfast was served. The downstairs gear room is an asset for storage and parking was plentiful enough considering the large number of skiers that weekend.

The Lodge is rustic with basic sleeping accommodations and common areas that are part of a true mountain adventure. Nice fireplace, great room for dining and mixing it up with other guests and members. Plenty of comfortable seating around the fireplace and a nook for reading or relaxing. The kitchen is huge and well equipped. I was treated to a group dining experience that I was not expecting by other gusts who welcomed me with open arms. What is not to like. The members and regular guests are a great source of information and provided lots of inside information about the town and surrounding mountains. Did I mention that the lodge is close to Sugarbush Resort, and Mad River? it is also close to several other key destinations in Northern Vermont. Hiking, Downhill and Cross Country skiing, and year round outdoors activities abound. Overall a great experience and better than staying at the premium priced hotels in the area. Can't wait to get back.

Hitting the slopes! without actually hitting the slopes…read more Big Snow American Dream is such a cool, unique spot. Definitely one of the most fun things you can do year-round in New Jersey! It's wild walking into the American Dream mall and suddenly stepping into a real indoor snow park with actual snow, lifts, and multiple slopes. Perfect for scratching that ski/snowboard itch when it's 90 degrees outside or just getting some practice in during the off-season. The snow felt legit (cold and grippy), the terrain park features were fun and progressive for all levels, and the staff was helpful with rentals and getting everyone set up. We did a couple of hours and it was plenty of time to get solid runs in, work on technique, and hit some jumps and rails without the usual outdoor crowds or icy conditions. Great for beginners and families. There is also snow tubing which was really fun! If you wanna practice skiing or snowboarding but are still a bit iffy on going on an actual mountain, this can be a great option for you to get started.

It was my first time skiing or snowboarding but I was fortunate to have a friend with me that can teach me how to snowboard. I think at base price the day pass only provides 2 hours on the slopes which is not a lot of time, I don't think I would pay full price out of pocket. There was a Groupon offer at the time that significantly reduced the price of my visit and at the price point I would encourage going. While there isn't anyone there to actively teach you how to ski or snowboard, the fake snow is quite soft making it a good place to learn. However the slopes aren't too steep and it's hard to gain speed so if you are someone experienced not sure if I would recommend this visit. Staff is incredibly nice at helping you fit into your snowboard or ski or grab rentals with the all inclusive day pass. The lines can get long so I would say in a 2 hour period we were able to get on the lift about 7-8 times. But I had a fine time during my visit here. I think it's a great place to start your ski and snowboard journey, fall at ton but safely on soft snow to break the initial fear of trying something new. However would probably not come again.

As coordinator and tour guide, Jason was quick, courteous, and knowledgeable. His connections at various local ski resorts combined with his relationship with the bus company brought our prices down to less than what I would have paid had I booked it separately. But it was his services that I found to be absolutely essential to the efficiency of the operation, which included the booking of the bus & driver, ordering & distributing tickets, escorting our group through the rental process, and helping beginners get to their lessons. Without him, our day trip would have been way more stressful on me and nowhere near as fun for the group. So, do your homework, gather your prices, call the group booking desk at Hunter or Windham, and contact local buses for hire... But then do yourself a favor and call New York Mountain Tours. Communication with Kevin and Mike was easy from the start and any concerns I had were dealt with in a timely manner. Both Mike and Kevin were friendly and really easy to work with, with the whole process being seamless. There was a bit of rain on the day of but it didn't rain on our parade. Our driver, Sal, was amazing and kept us on track to get to each brewery and back home on time. I would highly recommend Tapped Enterprises if you are looking for a tour out in Long Island.
