I've used them before for a snowboard wax, and it was fine, it's a basic wax. I went in today, 6 days before my trip, and they quoted a standard 7 day turnaround time for a wax, with an "express" fee of $5 dollars a day. 7 days for a belt wax is absolutely unreal, and saves no time from just doing it out west, where same day or next day is standard and, the same price of $25 dollars. I'd recommend just dropping your skis or snowboard at a local shop at your destination and get it same or next day. read more

Stopped by thinking I'd get a new pair of ski boots. Spoke to the associate for awhile, tried a pair and realized my boots are actually quite nice and comfy; apparently I just hate ski boots because I grew up snowboarding. He said the boots will always be more uncomfortable versus snowboarding. He did mention Apex boots are ski boots made like snowboarding boots. I'm gonna check them out. I perused the store for face coverings and new gear. They have some used gear which is in good shape. I tried on almost 20 pairs of pants. The sizes between brands differ greatly. I found two outs of pants and a jacket I liked and grabbed a turtle on the way out as well. I may return for some gloves- they have pairs starting at $35. The associate gave me a discount at the register which was super nice. Return policy is 5 days, afterward you can get store credit. There were at least four fitting rooms and plenty of mirrors. There's a couple of shop dogs wandering around, not bothering anyone. Parking is on the street. I didn't see a lot. read more

This review is solely based on the terrible lack of communication and not following through with agreements. The best part of this establishment is the owner, very nice gentleman. I purchased the exact boat I was looking for at a fair price but promised were made that were not followed through. The dealer had two weeks to have the boat prepared for delivery due to myself being out of town for business. My finance guy and myself had to call the sales rep multiple times for basic information to execute the deal. For example, the day before delivery was scheduled they finally sent the needed documents to close instead a full week in advance as requested. Major issue 1: Agreed to relocate the Bimini to over the tower, was not started on until two days prior to delivery. Challenges occurred to where they reached out to me stating they have gone as far as they can go. A professional Bimini company would need to come in to complete it and I would need to cover the difference. Why would I need to pay the difference when work was not completed nor proper. Major issue 2: none of the speakers within the boat were working to which they stated needed to be rewired do to a loose connection. Okay no worries, day of delivery still not working! And trash all around the amps, couldn't even clean up after themselves. Major issue 3: day of delivery the boat was supposed to be cleaned, the interior was filthy with dirt so my fiancé and I spent our first night with the boat cleaning. STILL OWED THE SUN PAD FILL IN CUSHION!!! Same response as always Nautique has it. Was told I would receive a $60 gift card for gas, what do they do give a gift card for their store. On a rather warm fall afternoon, I ventured into Ski World, and despite their name, it was quite hot inside--for some reason that day the A/C was not running. The door was open, and the associate working was friendly and helpful and apologized for the temperature. He also mentioned that right now they are transitioning from summer to winter. Thus, most of the wakeboarding and waterskiing equipment was on sale, specifically, their 2007 boards. It was also apparent that the selection was slimming and that cold weather hobbies were dominating the store's stock. Being that I know very little about water sports, I thought it was funny to see a big jug of Toe Jam Binding Lube for sale. Near the summer area, you'll find a large fish tank filled with intriguing creatures. At first it almost doesn't look real but adds a nice touch to the store overall. If you do need warm clothing for your ski vacation in Aspen they will be able to help you. Salomon, Spyder, Hot Chillys, Columbia and NorthFace are just a few of the names you'll see while shopping. Whether its winter coats, leggings, goggles, skis, boots, hats, etc., you shouldn't be disappointed in selection or price for that matter. They seem to be average and not above what you'd expect. They even have cold weather gear for the little person in your life. I really enjoyed their cream colored Columbia fleeces for toddlers--so cute. Parking shouldn't be a problem since there are a few spots right in front of their store. And if you need to run any other errands, Ivanhoe Row isn't a bad place to be since there are a variety of businesses up and down this section of Orange. read more

Had a great experience renting standup paddle boards from SkiWorld. I called ahead to reserve boards since I wanted to rent seven of them. When I arrived in the morning, they were bringing the boards and paddles out to the dock for me and we just had to sign waivers and go! An employee sized all of the paddles for everyone in our party, gave us a brief demonstration of how to get on/off the boards and how to paddle. When we were finished, they brought all of the boards back to the store for us. Easy all the way around. They offered me a group discount for the boards without me asking and the cost ended up being cheaper than all of the competitors in the area. Good customer service, nice price. I would not recommend Ski World Orlando for boot fittings, I was told when I purchased boots the fit was guaranteed. However I had issues with shin bang with my boots on my first ski trip with them.I brought the boots back. Tried on other pairs, but they did not have a suitable boot. The owner then refused to give me a refund. My advice is to use a real boot fitter near whatever ski resort you're going to. Unfortunately, these guys don't really know how to fit boots correctly and will not honor their guarantee. read more

Arrogant and impatient SUP (standup paddleboard) salesman, who said he didn't have time to go over SUP boards, if I wasn't serious about buying one through him/Ski World! In addition, he lambasted one of his competitors (a much more highly reputable SUP manufacturer in Daytona Beach with the name "Brothers" in the title. While Ski World did have a more extensive selection of SUP boards than the Daytona Beach showroom, the prices for the quality of Ski World's boards were not up to par with the wholesale pricing to the public (along with exceptional customer service) that the "Brothers" boutique shop in Daytona Beach offered. Very disappointing, since Ski World is conveniently located in downtown Orlando, across from a popular ski lake. But, after the poor sales service I received there, I'd rather drive an hour (and sure as heck did!) to Daytona Beach, knowing that I'll be treated well (and feel assured that I purchased one of the highest quality SUP boards in the business. I have been coming to Ski World since I was 6 years old. I remember Mike the owner being very nice and helpful to my cousins and I. I have gone there ever since taking lessons and buying all my water ski gear and snow ski gear. I rather dislike the store and will not return. Our first visit was highlighted by a creepy employee who followed my wife (30) throughout the store as though she were a shoplifter. Spent over $300 and were rung up by another employee who I swear was higher than god. Neither one could properly help my wife buy her first ski boots or explain their fit. I, a non-skier, had to do that for her. Am I off-base expecting that in a ski shop? The last straw was today trying to return a jacket that did not fit her properly. Apparently there is a no exceptions five day return policy - it's posted a few places in the store but is not on the receipt. Today was day six. No refund, no exception. Thanks Ski World. I had the exact same experience as Dan B. I went in to shop for SUPs, I got some useful info but mostly just a poor attitude from the salesman. I also ended up driving out to the coast and buying a board out there. There are plenty of great SUP shops out on the beach that will give you a quality product at a great price, without the crappy attitude. Buyer Beware. First, if you buy anything sold as "new" make sure it is and has not been demod by customers, returned, exchanged or used by employees as a job perk. Policy is you can exchange easily if your "trade up" and spend more. Guess where returned merchandise ends up? Good luck if you buy anything and have repair, return, exchange or warranty issue. I never write reviews for places, but i felt i had to because the staff and customer service experience horrible, i came in looking for some snow gear and the this lanky guy came over and asked if i needed help and i asked him i was trying to see some boots and so he shows me the new section and i tell him my size and ask how much i was trying to spend and i said 130 and he takes me to look at some used things which i wasn't even expecting, then he leaves me hanging and i never got to try on any boots, i ask him nicely if i can try one of the non used pairs and let me tell you the attitude he put up, he kept insisting if i'm not buying he won't let me try them on, so i just said that i'm looking to buy then, and so his aggravated self got the boots, long story short if your going to buy snow gear look online and stay away, or even the other snow store near orlando, the point is one of the worst experiences i've had with customer support. read more

I went to Ski World this weekend looking to have bindings mounted on my Rossignol skis, and the employees were very helpful given my slightly unusual situation. The skis had binding tracks but no bindings, and the employees said they would call the manufacturer and sort it out. What is it with salesmanship in this shop? It is completely absent. A skinny, blue-eyed, bold guy who was there today an yesterday was awkward at best, I went to return two pairs of gloves that didn't fit my kids properly and his whole point was that I didn't know how to shop for them, thus I had ended up with the wrong size. I told him politely that I wanted to return, not to exchange, becaus the other options he had weren't in my price range. This seemed to bother him so he reiterated he had other gloves available but "you just don't want them." The guy didn't smile ONCE or tried to be somehow nice. I was luckier than most and had noticed their 5-day return policy, which is so absurd they should at least tell you about it when you pay. I am relatively new to paddle boarding (SUP), and heard from a friend that Ski World was a great place to get started. They have a great selection of boards - several different brands and styles. They even let me "test drive" two boards on the lake across the street, which really helped. The sales person was very knowledgeable about the different paddle boards they stocked, and did a great job in helping me select a board that fit my needs. And it turns out they only stock high quality boards that are made in America! Ski World was hosting a demo for Waters Edge SUP Boards the past weekend so I thought I check it out. After reading the reviews about Ski World I decided to throw caution to the wind and venture away from the demo and see what they offered inside their store. There was only 1 other customer in the store at the time so the place was not busy. However, there were 3 employees walking around doing everything but asking if I needed help. After looking around at all the SUP board (which they had a large selection) at least 15 minutes had past and the only thing that greeted me and my family was the stores dog! At one point every employee was gone except the cashier which never said a word to us. We end up driving to Daytona to visit a local SUP maker which not only spent time explaining their boards but also gave us some insight about the SUP industry in general. read more

Mike the owner was the most helpful, down to earth guy I think i have ever run into. Was jet ski out on Lake Ivanhoe when my tow rope got sucked up into the engine. Went into Ski World just to ask some advice on where i should take it to get it fixed. He walked me over to his shop and spent the next two hours personally helping me get this rope out of my jet ski. Also hooked me up with a winch cable for my trailer. Great local business that has done a fantastic job over the years. I typically buy all of my winter sports attire and water sports gear here. Also, I've gotten into paddleboarding lately and would highly recommend taking one of their boards out on Lake Ivanhoe. As A serious first-time buyer for a SUP of course I had questions before I dropped over $1K, but he didn't want to help at all. Didn't ask me what my use needs were, first question was how much was I looking to spend. Walked me to one board and when I asked a question assaulted me that he didn't have time for a non-buyer. I regret that I apologized to him for having bad experiences before when clearly this goes beyond him having a bad day with me and habitually mistreats customers. Wish I could refer this company because it's close to home but they sold us clothes without telling us (until after we were rung up)there was only a 5 day return policy and this is during the holidays!!! Beware, although Huston Mastercraft uses space at Ski World of Orlando, the boat service is performed out of Ski World. The Ski World mechanic is NOT a certified Mastercraft mechanic. I took my boat in to have a head replaced. When I got the boat back it was filthy. There was greasy hand prints all over and oily rags left in the bilge. I ran it and found that there was oil leaking all over the engine compartment. I took it back. They said they found the leak (rear intake manifold from the work they had performed replacing the head) and had repaired it. I ran it again and it was still leaking oil all over. I took it back and again they said they had fixed it and verified it by running it. I ran it again and it was still leaking. I finally took it to a certified mechanic and they fixed it. To top it off, I had found that the Ski World mechanic had cut away part of the cooling system. When I ask him about it, he said that "it wasn't needed". Needed or not, he cut away a part and didn't inform me that he was going to or that he did. In a discussion with the mechanic he said that "most of our customer's don't expect perfect". I said, well I am not one of those customers and when I am paying you $1500 to repair my boat I at least expect it to be repaired and repaired correctly. read more
