I met Mya a couple months ago and I am so glad that I took the leap and booked myself an appointment! She is a skincare guru and knows so much about new services, lasers and all the up and coming new technology. It's really a treat to have her in my skincare corner! I am 39 and my skin was just ok. Quite a bit of hyper-pigmentation on my cheeks, fine lines around my eyes, general sagging and more pronounced lines around my mouth and neck. Well it has taken quite a bit of work and I am done yet, but I over the past couple months I have seen a big improvement! I have been doing photo facial treatments, which have no downtime (a huge plus) and are pretty painless. I have done 5 treatments and probably need another couple more. Now they aren't cheap, but for what you pay you get some real results and pampering. My photo facials included microdermabrasion and mask/facial, not to mention a relaxing experience. I am normally very private and self conscious about my skin . I am 65 years (young ) thanks to Mya . I grew up in Phoenix and the generation that sun screen was not promoted , as a matter of fact it was the opposite, burn your skin with baby oil to get tan . I never care to write a Yelp review for anything, neither good nor bad; however, I need to rave about Mya and insist that everyone go see her. I had perfect skin until I turned about 24 years old. Everyone, even strangers, would stare at me and tell me that I was beautiful. This might be why I am a perfectionist about my appearance. Then, all of a sudden, I started having several pimples on my face all at once. I don't even consider them pimples, though, because they were so deep and painful. Basically, I felt like I had 12 bruises on my face. I knew that I had to do something because I no longer felt beautiful. I found Mya on Yelp and decided to go to her website and make an appointment. She called me before the appointment and introduced herself, and I told her my devastating situation. She gave me so much confidence in her because she told me how experienced she is, that she is only one of two medical aestheticians in Washington, and that she trains doctors. She was amazing, and I kept on going to see her. She is extremely knowledgeable and has one of the best personalities out there. I moved here from Illinois and was all alone, and she was a great confidante. Of course, she gave me facials that I never even dreamed of - I lay in a heated bed and she gave me medical facials, but they were incredibly relaxing! She is so gentle, and she cares a lot because she is a perfectionist and wants her clients to be 100% happy. She tend to your face and does not have a one-size-fits-all method. She finds your problem areas and gives you a custom solution treatment. She also recommends products that work for you and your budget. Coming from Chicago, I was not used to spending so much money, but it was definitely worth it. I was used to paying five bucks for cleanser and that was it. Now, I refuse to go back to drugstore brand products and would never let anyone else near my face. I am no longer working, so I cannot afford facials, but I still save my money and buy her products. It was great being able to purchase products at my treatments, but, now that I don't get facials anymore, she has been a little bit difficult to reach, but I refuse to give up. Honestly, it is okay that I cannot afford treatments, because I have had several with her and my skin is flawless and I feel more beautiful than ever. Mya is very talented and really knows her stuff. I have had facials at several top Spas where I wasnt given as much information and guidance on what is needed to keep my skin in shape. Was alright. Wasn't offered a tea or water, like is generally done when going to a spa to relax. Didn't have any amazing skin change, though I know it takes time. Felt like I was just told what she was going to be doing to my skin, rather than talking about options, costs, packages she could offer,etc..What I wanted! I started going to her via a Living Social deal but I have continued on and on. The results are clear and obvious -- I couldn't be happier. I've had "regular" facials, microcurrent, IPL and, I've also partaken of lipo laser, infrared wraps and other methods to smooth out unwanted lumps and bumps! Again, the results are obvious! So Mya now has a laser lipo machine. I'll admit, it's with a bit of skepticism that I bought some sessions. But with the health problems I've had, getting weight off seems to be impossible the last few years, and I'll admit to being desperate. So I bought a package for my belly pouch and inner thighs. And I'm sure this review will be filtered, again, but I'll throw myself out there for embarrassment anyways. I've lost 2.5" around my belly. I don't know about the thighs as I forgot to measure them (a history of anorexia/bulimia makes me number shy), but they are also smaller. More importantly, Where Did My Double Chin Go? It literally has vanished. My manicurist saw me for the first time in a month and was surprised by how much my face had lost weight (see my review of her). Now this is not the only thing I'm doing. I am watching what I eat, I'm maintaining my exercise, and for the last two months I have cut all sugar completely out of my diet. But the chin disappeared after the last session.
