I had the WORST blow dry experience. This place doesn't deserve even one star. This person hurt my scalp. She was very rough and aggressive. She didn't pin the hair in sections. She pulled the hair from the root and it was a tangled mess. It took 2 hours to dry my hair and I had to leave and go to another salon to get it fixed. My scalp still hurts. I lost so much hair. I will never go back to this salon. The woman should be fired. My hair is damaged, dry and brittle. The salon should be shut down. read more

Previously, I had gone to another place for the salt therapy. I decided to stop in here to inquire about their therapeutic salt room experience. I was informed that my first salt therapy session would be $25.00 (50% off). A super sweet young woman Amanda had escorted me to a private room for my 45 minute salt session. The room had two small twin beds prettily decorated with a single strand of orchids on each bed. Each bed is heated : ) You are shown the switches to adjust the volume of the relaxing music along with the lighting. It was a very peaceful 45 minute session. Best of all, the salt therapy had cleared my sinuses naturally. Goodbye to decongestants! Should you go with a guest, a room for two is $75. You can get a Sea Salt Massage in the salt room for $90. Another tempting addition is a facial in the salt room for $100. They also have Sea Salt Packages: Starting with six sessions at a cost of $270. In addition, they have Salt Room memberships. I literally walked in and walked out, the way they treat the interns is appalling and illegal . I would never give them any of my money. They should be reported. They literally keep their help in a small room the size of a closet. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. When I walked out one of the girls was outside IN THE RAIN eating her lunch . I had to say something and the young girl told me me that they can either eat in the "closet" or outside. I plan on calling the labor board myself . I always go to the salon because I love to change my hair color I am brunette but I probably tried every hair color that exist of blond, pink,black,brown different styles of highlights I mean I tried everything BUT for this main reason my hair was damage and was not growing at all. I moved to the area and I was looking for a hair salon near me before I came to skin deep I tried another salon near by I didn't like the style they did on me and it was extremely expensive. So I decided to look for another salon. I came here and I found Manash she is awesome she is so skillfully and adorable she took care of my hair now my hair is healthy looking, everyone complement on my hairstyle and it is growing a lot. Last time I visit the salon I came for a frame highlights, a glaze and a blow drier and I got everything I wanted and more. She recommended me a blue shampoo and it is everything. My hair is beautiful and it hooded the color for a longer time. Every time I painted my hair blond it will turn red or orange a few moths after it has been over a year and my hair still the same color as the same day. She put a glaze on my hair that kept it shiny and smooth for a whole year so I totally recommend that treatment. And the prices are very good I will pay anything for my hair as long as they are skillful and they make me happy and at this salon they are very professional, knowledgeable and trendy love it! One of the best I've ever had. Followed by a total body massage. It was the first massage I've had since before I had treatments and surgery. It was wonderful! I had my first visit today and it was exceptional! I had a spa package so I had a variety of services scheduled. Jennifer gave an amazing facial and Kelly gave me one of the best massages I've ever had in my life. When I first checked in, there was a problem with my scheduled appointment as it had been booked for the wrong day. At first I was told they would only be able to do some of my services, but then Susan, the owner, came out and said she was going to make it all happen. And she did! I've been here countless times for personal and couples massages. My last visit was Saturday with Tessa for a 60 minute therapeutic massage. I was in one of the salt rooms, which are beautiful. The bed and linens are very comfortable. The top linen is soft, like a faux fur, which makes me feel cozy. Tessa was great. I asked her to focus on my back and neck, since I work at a computer all day. She used a lightly scented scrub and lotion on my back. One of the things I liked most is that when I turned onto my back, she gave me a something to put over my eyes. Went here with a girlfriend for massages and didn't love it. From beginning to end, everything seemed off. Any time I have gone to a place for massage, there's usually a special area to wait to decompress and get you ready for relaxation. There isn't any place like this. You wait in the entrance area where people are coming in and out of the salon and checking in and out and the seating is very limited. The room I was placed in was a salt room. It was cool looking inside and I was told it's used for people with asthma and other respiratory issues (to help their breathing). Seemed interesting and something I hadn't seen before. The issue here though was the bed. It was very uncomfortable as the head rest wasn't level. There is no way you could have a worthwhile massage on this wooden table. They tried to fix it but it didn't happen. About 10 minutes later, I was able to get another room which I appreciated. The room I did have was much more zen like; dark and calming with relaxing music. The problem was that about one person could fit in here. My masseuse occasionally knocked into things and there wasn't even a place for her to put the comforter for the bed (she put it on top of my shoes which were on the floor). The massage itself was just OK. Nothing special or out of this world to note. I wasn't blown away, but I did relax. Afterwards, I was brought back to the front into the hustle and bustle of the salon, which ended any relaxation I was feeling in an instant. In my opinion, this place is more of a salon that offers massages, though it's not their main business or speciality. There were plenty of people getting their hair and nails done and there were plenty of stations for those services. But Skin Deep misses the mark when it comes to a true massage experience. I'd much rather pay the $100+ and get a full spa-like experience. read more

I've had the pleasure of getting 2 facial so far with Dorentina. She's INCREDIBLE I cannot sing her praises enough, she's saved my skin. I'm looking forward to continuing my journey with her. She's super sweet and beyond helpful. I appreciate that she throughly explains what she's doing; the products she's using and what they help target. I've gotten facials done in the past and this has been by far my best experience. My skin just loves Babor and Dorentina. The spa is super clean and everyone is friendly. It's easy to check out and book follow up appointments and I love that they have rewards/point system. They also have a lot of products on hand which makes it easy to walk out and continue taking care of your skin at home without needing to order them online or stop somewhere else. I'm already looking forward to my next facial. They also offer massages; hair care; mani/pedi's; waxing. I LOVE this place! I've been getting my hair colored here for about 2 years now, and am always impressed with the result! I booked an appointment shortly before my 21st birthday with Claudia (my parents gave me a trip to the spa as a present) and I have since made her my primary hair dresser. She listens carefully to what I want/need and always delivers the perfect style. Plus, she's amazing to talk to! Two qualities that aren't found as often as they should be in a hairdresser. I never give reviews but wanted to put this out as I am extremely disappointed. I have been going to skin deep for over 2 years but the last 2 visits have been extremely disappointing. The hair color is blotched all over my face, don't need a professional to do that for me. Last time the owner stepped in to clean up and promised to have a comment on my file. When I made an appointment this time, I specifically asked to make sure they cleaned up after the coloring and washing but extremely disappointing with almost the same result. Went here with my aunt for mani pedi. It's not really the best. I don't really understand why my aunt keeps going back when her nails chipped the next day. I went on Friday. Today is Monday and my nail is already chipped. I mean I know it's not gel polish, but still regular polish should last at least 6 days. I went to the Solon to have a facial and this lady put on this horrible cream (that they too tried to sell me - I can't remember the name but it was in a light/green glass container) and my face just started itching after that. I came home and literally for 2-3 weeks my face was very red and I was breaking out just terribly. I've stopped using the cream and now everything went back to normal - I guess I must have had some kind of allergic reaction to that particular cream (which supposedly was the best for my face). Skin Deep has the potential to be great but it isn't. Some technicians are wonderful (20%) but then there is a rotation of new girls that never stay. The polish color selection is substandard and boring. I don't care if it is vegan, I just want cool, slightly in style, tad bit trendy colors. Even my gray haired mother is bored with the colors! most bottles are only 1/3 full & clumpy! I will say It is very clean. I'm not afraid of catching a fungus. Because of the construction & technicians over scheduled it is no longer relaxing. I understand renovations but it is over a year. Barbour products are excellent but the facials are rushed. Ruth at the front desk is great & the only one who gets things done correctly. Don't waste your time with anyone else up there. I used to like Skin Deep. Now, they are overextended and cutting corners with quality products & time. Prices no longer reflect the quality & experience. I'm not ready to go to a shady Asian nail spot, but I'm looking for somewhere new. I think Susan (owner) misses the mark. read more

I have had 3 stylists cut my hair and they were all good--and truthfully my hair is very thick and not easy to cut properly. I was here a few years back for some services, and while the service was decent (meaning the spa treatments), all else was a little ragged and rough around the edges. I had to wait a long time, the massage therapist was trying to upgrade me as she was massaging me, etc. The front desk is a little militant. But I was just here recently, and it seems things have improved quite a lot. Everything looks and feels well maintained. The spa services were excellent--the facial by Mary Ann, was totally divine, and she was super sweet. And Tessa's massages are transformative! Staff still a wee bit stiff, but I would definitely go back for a day of beauty. My only real qualms were having to walk from a downstairs room to an upstairs room in slippers, robe, and head wrap in front of the whole salon (waiting room and all), which I suppose can't be helped. The Babor products used by the salon are supposedly very good and I bought a cleanser and cream after my facial without being aware the the moisturizer is $79! (Since when?) No one blinked an eye and when I asked the price, I was treated like I was asking very personal information. But that was my choice anyway to continue with the purchase. Last, I spent a good couple of hours there, and the entire time I was distracted and slightly depressed by their choice of bad department store Muzak. It didn't stress me out or anything, but something a little more melodic and contemporary may have led me away from the nagging feeling that I was having spa treatments in a retirement home. Since my last review the quality of customer service has greatly improved! As I mentioned, Skin Deep has gone through a major renovation in the past few years, it's much nicer and much more spacious inside, however it took a toll on the clientele since the renovation was taking place while the salon remained open. As a longtime customer I am happy that the renovations are finally finished, the staff seems less tense, and each time I visit I am greeted by familiar faces at check-in. I have been going to Skin Deep off & on for several years, (since they opened), & recently went for a hair cut. The girl that cut my hair has been there for a long time, I had never had her cut my hair before & will never have her cut it again. It is choppy & layers are obviously uneven. Now I have to pay for another haircut to have someone fix it (somewhere else). I am very annoyed every time I look in the mirror & have to spend more time than necessary to try to make my hair look like the picture I brought in when I got my haircut. Big waste of time & money. I guess Skin Deep will be "off" again for me. read more
