Disclaimer My hair stylist is also one of my best friends BUT as you can see from the photo I posted - she is talented and is amazing with hair and does a great job. My hair is usually complimented ......but it is long and heavy- not many can handle it properly. So for Dolce. Limited Parking is behind business , street parking or metered parking lot across the street. Inside is beautiful. Bright and great natural light. You can have water, coffee, tea or Prosecco if you'd like Prices are a tad high but I don't mind if you get good service and outcomes. Appalling service and hair coloring for Asian hair. I went into the salon in with highlights that I thought were too light and left the salon looking like Wednesday Adams. When I complained, Amanda told me that I was only booked for a root touch up and I would need to come back end of September for highlights. Why would I ask for black hair in the middle of summer (and she got rid of all my existing highlights) and then come back in the fall for the 2nd step of a hair process? I have been going to Dolce for over 7 years, and now my mother and daughter go there for their hair and my MIL along with my rest of the family go for our nails. I have thought the stylists are very good. However, I recently got a brazilian hair straightening a few months ago and I have been disappointed with the results especially for the price I paid. I am writing the review for a few reasons. Don't waste your money on this process! I wish I never did it and can't wait for it to get out of my hair. I recently spoke with the manager, Violeta to further speak about what happened with my hair, and better understand the process in general. I found her to be rude, and dismissive. I was by no means asking for my money but rather to get a better understanding of why my hair feels greasy, and texture has changed. She stated that the chemicals come out within one washing (despite me using the special shampoo and conditioner that I bought from them) then please shed light on why anyone would spend so much money if it isn't going to last. Also she acted like I was an idiot (in front of other stuff as well) why embarrass another customer. I felt her costumer service is horrible and I am considering not returning for my hair for this reason alone. So unprofessional! I think its important not only to get good quality service but a place where I can feel comfortable after all you are spending a long time getting your hair done. I don't know that I will be returning to get my hair done here at this salon despite the fact that I have an office on the same block. not to mention my office is above another hair salon which is easer but I have been going here because I have been happy with services until this recent experience when I had a problem. I have already began to explore other options. I will no longer take my daughter here and I will def not recommend this salon to others. Please go somewhere else with less aggravation. read more

Mark listed to my needs and wants and did a fabulous color and cut for me! I'm so happy! He was, also, very fun and accommodating along with the staff. They even filled the parking meter for me, so I didn't need to go onto the Millburn sidewalks to update my parking. I am so excited to have found Mark for my hair. I had a wonderful visit to Dolcé Salon this morning in the midst of the COVID era. With parking so accessible both behind the salon and down the street, getting there was easy. I masked and called at the door, then was invited in to stand on a circle a few feet away from a temperature camera which relayed it to the hosts at the front desk (now with partial plexiglass shields). The salon's bright, airy decor lends itself to a sense of easy social distancing plus all people were masked. I was curious so I asked - how to trim around the ears for a short cut - apparently remove an ear loop and hold the mask to your face for each ear. Looked like it worked well on others. (My hair is longer.) I learned that Dolcé salon sought best practices from salons across the world to determine how to keep clients safe and comfortable (ie. plexiglass shields hanging from the ceiling between every other wash station) while continuing to service their guests' needs. While it would be nice to have clear Federal guidelines, the effort and care displayed by these owners clear and present. I'm sold. Complementing the salon itself was the courtesy, warmth, and professionalism shown by its curly hair stylist, Erika. If I could give 6 stars to Dolce Salon & Spa in Millburn, I would! From the service(s), to the people, to the place, itself, Dolce is everything I could want in a salon, and more. I've always enjoyed downtown Millburn, NJ--and when I saw there was a new salon/spa, offering extensive services at reasonable prices, I was eager to check it out. WOW, am I glad I did! After giving my car to the valet (YES, they've got valet in downtown Millburn...how convenient is that?!), I walked in through the back entrance, and was greeted almost instantly (coincidentally, by my stylist, Justin P.). Right away, I felt welcomed and comfortable--which, in my opinion, is extremely important, especially at a salon (let's be real: a cold and stuffy environment, even with the best stylists, doesn't necessarily make me want to return). Before starting my hair treatment, I got a cup of coffee, and was ready to go. Justin and I discussed what I was looking to do--and he listened to my requests/desires, and gave suggestions appropriately. So...after years of debating about whether or not to treat and/or highlight my hair, I finally decided to go for it (time to reinvent myself, perhaps?)! Thanks to Justin, I got a Keratin Express treatment, and Balayage highlights--which are both perfect for summer! I must say, I am in LOVE with what he's done--and I can see how this can become quite addicting! In the words of my EXCELLENT stylist, Justin: "Hair is the best accessory." Only now can I truly appreciate what he means by this--as good hair can make a world of difference on anyone, anytime. Back to Dolce Salon & Spa--the facility, itself, is just GORGEOUS: it's modern, and incredibly spacious. Apparently, in addition to the stunning hair and nail spa area(s), they've also got a huge space downstairs (I think the spa is down there?). I didn't see everything--but wow, it's certainly bigger than any salon/spa I've been to before! At the last minute, I decided to have my nails done, as well (they had availability, and it was extremely convenient). I got a French manicure, and my manicurist did an excellent job. I HIGHLY recommend Dolce Salon & Spa, as well as my stylist, Justin! Because of the vast amount of services offered at the salon/spa, I'm eager to check out the other things they do, as well (waxing, massages, facials, makeup, blow outs, the list goes on and on...). I had a blowout here. Pretty typical price of ~$30 for a regular blowout and ~$50 with curling iron. I wouldn't say I was blown away by the service or the result. Stylists did not seem to be very "on trend". They wanted cash for tips which I thought was really weird given the time where most vendors nowadays accept venmo. read more

Juju is the best! My roots were over 2 inches grown out and I had plans in NY. He was able to schedule me last minute and took his time to correct the color of my hair, cut, and style it straight. I got my hair done with Aleck and she is amazing!!! Oh man, I was so tired of my plain, black hair. I really wanted something bright and vibrant. However, I wasn't sure if I could have bright pink and purple hair where I work. So Aleck was able to do a little peekaboo hair coloring for me! She perfectly hid the color underneath a layer of my hair. I know... what's the point in hiding It? But once I do up my hair or curl it a little bit, you can see it easily! Not only did she give me what I wanted, perfectly, but she made the whole experience relaxing and fun. She's easy to talk to and she knows her stuff! I absolutely love this spot! I always get my hair colored and/or cut with Lu and he has never let me down! He has done an ombré in my hair which I love and looks completely natural. He also cut about 4 inches off my hair recently and I couldn't love this look more! As for the general atmosphere, Dolce is a beautiful ballroom type salon with free standing double- sided stations and huge window at that front of the salon that allows natural light to flood in. This was my first time getting a spa manicure as well as coming to Dolce. Alla was so knowledgeable about all of her products that she uses on clients as well as what would be best for each individual client. She is also very friendly. I was referred here by one of my friends when Jose Eber abruptly closed. I do not like to take off stars on Yelp. When you deal with the public, it's not polite to be abrupt to a brand new client especially when they are booking appointment. A thank you goes a long way or someone to even ask "how was your experience with us." That was the downside. It wasn't inviting. Also, I've never been to a spa where I had to ask person giving me a service for a glass of water. She is busy enough. Usually you are asked at the door or as you sit down "may I get you anything?"
