Time to leave another review for the terrific Skin MD led by Dr. Tracie Swayden. I had an appointment yesterday. I couldn't be more pleased with everything about my treatment. Chelsea is a gem at the front desk. She is so cheerful and helpful. Dr. Swayden and Tiffany are talented and personable professionals. I have been going there for 15 years! i didn't feel comfortable or heard in the patient room. I told the dr and assistant how unconfor table I was about having a skin removal procedure in a very private and sensitive area. she had nothing to ease my anxiety. She actually looked speechless. I don't feel like she explained thoroughly the whole procedure before she started. I was also quoted one price and ended up paying more than triple that amount. I wasn't interested in getting a biopsy, but they told me it was necessary to get this procedure done which I just don't agree with. it should be my choice. I will not be returning or recommending this location to anyone, ever! read more

Been going here for years. They can't keep a doctor on staff or in the office as they make them rotate from Weatherford to Hurst. They don't send you any notification when you're PA leaves and goes to another place. They are overpriced and their dead staff are less than pleasant. Sometimes they don't answer the phone because they have staffing issues with the two locations. In all the years I've gone to this establishment I've never once seen the owner there. They are similar to a boutique dermatologist office. They have now purchased the dental office next door apparently. THE LAST STRAW FOR ME WAS THEY SENT ME AN EMAIL TODAY STATING THAT THEY WERE NOW GOING TO START CHARGING 3.5% ON ALL CREDIT CARD TRANSACTIONS. GOOD LUCK WITH THAT! I recently had an appointment with Linda Hua who is a great doctor. I like her and she is friendly. I have been seeing her for almost 2 years and she has given me excellent care. I would recomend to all who come to skin MD. There is one note of criticism. When I go for a full body exam I assume it means just that. To me that means checking between toes, the crack in my butt and my genital. I am aware cancer is remote in these areas but it does happen. I have had 3 skin cancers this past year and I'm now 76 with fair skin so I am high risk for skin cancer. I have read where some cancers went undetected due to lack of examination. I am not embarrass for a skin exam and would like all areas, no matter how remote to be examined. I wish to remain with Linda but if it proves necessary I will change. read more

Had a post surgery follow up today with PA Mark Brooks. He gave me an excellent exam and found and treated several pre-cancerous spots. He did a great job of explaining every step of the process and what he was doing. Everyone at the center was great and all were following the covid procedures. I highly recommend Skin MD for your skin issues. read more

The visit was great! I really felt the office was well run. That was until I tried to get a biopsy result. I called 7 days after the appt and they said they were in, just waiting on dr to review them. I waited another 6 days, called on hold for 10 minutes. Was told they would call me back. 3 hours later, still no call. I called again and was on hold 8 minutes. Was told I would receive a call back. Finally received that call back that lasted all of 1 1/2 minutes. Tell me, is that service? Do they truly not have 2 minutes to call a customer back? I will now look for a new skin dr. read more

I will NEVER recommend this office. The staff was horrible and couldn't care less about the so called service they provided to their patients. Hardly anything that came from this consultation was positive. Let me count the ways: 1) Staff behind the counter could have cared less when I checked in. They barely looked at me and when they did speak with me, it was not pleasant & welcoming. No smiles. Nothing despite me being a new patient. 2) They finally roomed me at their own leisurely pace with no regard for my scheduled time. 3) The pink room I was in was awful; it had a disgustingly dirty sink with marks and gouges on the patient chair. Makes me wonder about their cleanliness of their treatment rooms and about contacting the city health department. 4) The PA-C, Mark Brooks, finally came in and was pleasant enough; even though he listened intently and answered my questions, he didn't seem to know when to stop providing information. He came across as a newly certified PA-C working without a supervising physician for the first time. He didn't instill confidence in me. I also didn't appreciate how often he touched my knee or my hand to show reassurance. Once is fine. Twice may be acceptable but 6 times is too much. 5) I did not appreciate feeling like a side show attraction by the sheer number of people in the room either. There was the PA-C and 2-3 medical assistants/students in the room at any given time. No one besides the PA-C was introduced to me with name or function. They kept flitting in and out sometimes working and other times just observing. 6) The final assistant in my room was incredibly rude. She looked surly the entire time she spoke to me and was curt. 7) She reviewed my medications at lightning speed then told me that she sent my prescriptions to a specialty pharmacy because they do a lot of business with them. Not a single member of the staff or PA-C ever asked for my preferred pharmacy or informed me of this other pharmacy before asking how I want my prescriptions to be sent out. NEVER! I told her that was unacceptable. It is my choice because they are my prescriptions and I didn't want to use their pharmacy. As the patient, I have that right and I will not use their pharmacy until I've submitted the prescriptions to my typical pharmacy and have a reason that their pharmacy is superior to mine. Also, I do not trust having my prescriptions mailed to me. I don't find it secure nor do I want to risk them being stolen by porch pirates this time of year. I told her I wanted the prescriptions retracted from the specialty pharmacy and have a hard copy provided to me before I left. She rudely told me that I would have to wait because the PA-C already moved on to another patient and she wasn't going to rush him just for me. When asked, she also said that she couldn't be bothered to cancel the prescriptions with the specialty pharmacy. I know that's a lie after working in a pharmacy for 4 years and a physician's office for 4 more. I called the specialty pharmacy the next day and confirmed with Chris that yes they could retract the prescription directly from the physician's office but it's typically difficult for them so they instruct patients to call and have the other pharmacy request a transfer. Erica was being completely lazy and unwilling to do her job especially when called out by a well-informed patient. This office is a joke and was a complete waste of my time! Update: A member of their staff called me a few days after my appointment to find out how my experience had been. I told her all of this information and named Erica with all of her faults during my appointment. She apologized and ensured me that she would mark my chart that I wouldn't be returning and no staff would contact me again. Low and behold who else should call me two days after this but Erica herself to find out why I had not picked up my prescriptions and asked for a call back. Again - total waste of time and inattentive to their patients and feedback. I'm blocking their number in my phone now too. read more

I would love to find a dermatologist and their office who genuinely care about their patients and who are willing to go above and beyond to help them, even if it means going the extra mile. Our situation may not be life or death, but to teenagers, it is a big deal. Dr. Ace, as we call him, has been great, but dealing with the staff every month on a RX refill is a beating! Any recommendations for an office that fits that mold? SkinMD has not been that fit for us and I think I've honestly given up on them. read more

I got the impression it was a make-up business. Was recommended by my doctor's office, not my doctor, to be checked for possible skin cancer. Paid my copay, took my shirt off, the dermatologist came in looked at me and said that I have no cancerous moles. Asked about the mole that had been burned off on my forehead and offered to touch it up. Upon leaving they wanted to collect more money for procedures, and they did say procedures. I told them my insurance would tell me if I owed more monies and as I left they were hollering do you have Medicare. Guess Medicare is easy to rip off. They billed my insurance $480 for that visit, naturally the insurance company reduced the amount. And I did not owe any extra monies. If you are serious about your health I would recommend you avoid SkinMD. read more

We went here because we were looking for non-surgical mole removal options for my daughter, and they offered a "complimentary consultation". Before making our initial appointment, we repeatedly asked if there were non-surgical options and were repeatedly assured that there were. So we went ahead and made the appointment. At the appointment, we were told that there was really no such thing as non-surgical mole removal options. Any non-surgical option would only "change the color" of the mole, but not actually remove it. Nor would they recommend doing that. It was frustrating because I know friends that have had non-surgical procedures to have moles removed and even more frustrating that we had asked this specific question before making the appointment. All of that would of been frustrating, but fine... except we were then billed for the appointment. Apparently their "complimentary consultation" is for "aesthetic" procedures only... And I'm a bit confused, because I'm thinking that's exactly what we were having looked at. We knew the mole was not a health issue. But no amount of discussion will help them to see why we are frustrated about being billed - or willing to work with us in any way. We are disappointed, and definitely won't recommend or return. read more

The experience with Mark Brooks was fine, the office staff was the reason for the poor review. They gave me false information about how services would be billed and told me everything would be covered under $50 copay (I confirmed several times)... then I got a $350 bill from somewhere they sent a biopsy. I had no idea they even were sending it anywhere else. The office manager took no responsibility when I presented this issue to her... I'm stuck with the bill. I recommend somewhere more honest about what you'll owe! read more

I love this place!!!! I called them today at three in the afternoon hoping to get in the same day. I knew that it would be a long shot, but thought it was worth a try. Sure enough, they were able to squeeze me in. If you are thinking of having dermal fillers done (I got Restylane), this is the place to go. After doing extensive research on the competition, I came to the conclusion that this sort of thing should be handled by a dermatologist and not by an aesthetician. I'm so happy with the decision. Even today, just hours after having it done it looks great. Dr. Swayden made me very comfortable and suprisingly enough it wasn't painful at all. If you are thinking of getting fillers GO SEE DR. This is the WORST Doctor and staff our family has ever encountered! There is NO customer service! The office staff is VERY Rude! They make mistakes with appointment dates and then charge you as a no show, even though they got the date wrong for the appointment requested! A skin check they did, left me with scars and they did not wish to do anything to assist with this. They said too bad, so sad! Also acne treatment for one of our children did not work at all! If you buy a package of treatments f facials, they give you a LITERALLY 5 minute treatment. I then requested a refund and they only gave me back 1/4 of what I was due. We are going to small claims court to solve this! The Doctor is more interested in selling you her expensive beauty creams, than concerned with your heath. After living in many states, and having been to many doctors, we can not believe how Horrible this Doctor and staff is! Take your time and find a good doctor, not Skin MD! We don't have one good thing to say about Dr. Swayden or Skin MD! read more
