Today was my first time at European Wax Center and decided to book an appointment at the Hurst, Texas location. I have been getting waxed for 5 years now and this is by far the WORST experience I ever had. As a new client my appointment was supposed to be $32.50. I was charged an extra $41 due to her waxing my inner thighs and a stomach strip. She included it with the service but charged me after my appointment for them. And not to mention she couldn't even grip the wax to pull off my body! She was struggling to pull the hair, took a few times to get a single strip off, talk about skin irritation! So, I will have to admit I had quit waxing a number of years ago at this point and tried various things at home. Partially due to cost, partially due to someone messing up my eyebrows by making them thinner than I would have ever gone. I had tried one other place before this one, and had pros & cons there that made me decide to give this place a shot before just sticking with the first place I tried. The waxer I had was very knowledgeable, friendly, welcoming, and said my hair came up really well. She also gave me a good couple of post wax care tips that I hadn't received at the other place for a face wax, but had heard of others getting in regards to waxing with other areas of their bodies. She also asked for me to check areas before leaving to reduce the chance of missed spots to help reduce chances of my finding something when I got home. The waxing experience was what I remembered it being at places I had gone before I had stopped. The only complaint I had was post wax, even with following instructions, my face remained aggravated the rest of the day with a couple spots that had not been waxed before reacting a little more than just red-ness. Redness went away next day, but it does look like I'm 'broken out" in two spots on my upper cheeks post wax. Though next time I already plan on asking them to only stick to certain spots next time. European Wax center has a decent first time customer deal. I went ahead and got a full face wax because they said it would help save even more. Though a couple of the included services I didn't really need, skipped hairline and didn't need burns and nose was ok but still did cause it was included. So on paper I'm better off just doing individual items. Though pricing here is about $1-3 less than the other place I tried, but things are more separated out. So the three things I do need will end up being more pre-tip than what I paid for the full face with discount, and $10 cheaper than full face, that I don't need all that it includes. read more

Really good bedside manners. Service was also really good. The entire place smells really nice. Some hair left unwaxed but almost to be expected regardless of who waxed you but, still annoying. They do try to sell you on all their other products while you're getting waxed but it's not that hard of a sell. They'll let you know the products they have and that's about it. If you're a first timer to European wax center you can get half off of a Brazilian. If it wasn't for this deal I wouldn't have gone bc I usually wax myself and it would have been too pricey. They do have deals if you pay in advance in case you're looking to become a regular. read more

WOW. I have seen other wax specialists but.. Haley was the best of all. She was considerate, kind and patient with me when I was in pain. I got a Brazilian for my wedding in two days and she was sure to get EVERY last bit. When I told her I needed a minute or two to relax in-between strips, she was patient with me and let me take a breath until I was ready! Other wax specialists I have been to have always rushed me, but Haley did amazing. I had a friend recommend me to her and im so glad I went. it was 30 minutes away from me but SO WORTH IT! last time I went I left feeling really sore, but not this time! Showed up for appointment on time. Receptionist told me my appointment was 30 Min after time I boos appointment. I was asked to wait in my car till appointment time. nobody walked in or out of building. Went back I 30 min later and they checked me in waited another 15 min apart the appointment time they moved me to. SEVERAL waxers standing around talking on their phones and doing anything but conducting business. Just for Gino went back to the website and the original time I booked was still available. I had only done sugaring for my Brazilian needs prior to getting a wax here from the recommendation of a friend. Pros: It was faster than sugaring, for sure. Took about 10 minutes tops, vs sugaring where they repeat the area over and over again, making about 45 mins. I also appreciated that they had a promo for first timers, and it was only $25. They mentioned products as I was paying, but I didn't feel that their tactics were aggressive. The waxer was personable, polite, and was not awkward at all. Con: They don't do a lot of teaching. The chick who did my sugaring would notice if I was dehydrated, to hydrate before my next visit to make the experience less painful. She's also talk about the hair growth cycle etc and would tell me about when was the best time to return. She also trimmed me prior to sugaring (one of my friends said that if you go before 6 weeks, she was sent away at a different location). This place did not, and they probably should have taken a minute or two to do it. I just took for granted that they would take care of *everything.* I felt that they skipped some steps, hence the two-star rating. read more

I've been to the Hurst location several times and the waxing is virtually painless. The staff has been friendly and the waxers are pleasant. However, what's the point of having an appointment if they are going to run late and cannot give you an idea of when you will be seen? I use this location since it's convenient to my office and I can go on my lunch hour but their lack of timeliness is inexcusable. There many other places that offer these services. I would definitely recommend them and if you don't have a schedule to stick to...go for it. read more

I used to go to my neighborhood nail salon / waxing center (one of those cheap joint places) and realized what I was missing out on when I came to EWC! Biggest difference here is that there are no strips!!! No painful experiences for me anymore! The wax simply hardens and removes everything in one go! After that, the waxers apply in grown hair serum and cooling lotion and I am good to go! Not to mention, the waxers were are super sweet and make sure to keep this place in tip top shape! The cleanest waxing salon I've ever been to or seen! This place has been my wax center for about 2 years. I had one waxer for a while but she recently left. Today was my first time calling in for an appointment with a different waxer since my waxer left. I called today at 4:51pm ,I was leaving the gym and asked to have the latest appointment available so that I could shower before the waxing. The lady on the phone was super nice and told me that she had a 5:45pm available. I agreed and she told me my waxer would be a lady by the name of Taylor. I went home showered as quick as I could and showed up a couple of minutes before 5:45pm. There were two ladies behind the counter and one of them checked me in. A few minutes passed and Taylor comes from the back and argues with the 2 ladies behind the counter about having booked me so late. Very unprofessional. She mentioned her wax was not ready because she had shut it down. She said that there was some policy that states that call ins shouldn't be booked so late last minute. My problem with this is that if 5:45pm was a slot that I could take, then what was the big deal? Taylor also mentioned that they don't book late because they want to leave early. So there was the answer. She was upset because she wanted to leave. I don't think Taylor should have argued with the 2 ladies that were simply doing their job. She shouldn't work there anymore. As soon as Taylor was done with what she had to say she left to prepare the wax for me. That's when I told the ladies I was leaving because I did not want to be waxed by someone so angry. I'm never going back to this place. And the two ladies behind the counter were lovely. They shouldn't have been yelled at by her like that. read more

Undeterred by a few negative comments, I came to the Hurst location after having a phenomenal experience at the Lewisville location. TRUST ME, this is place is legit. If you've never been here before, you definitely need to make the trip and book it now. The wax they use here is far superior to anything your corner salon is using. They don't use strips at all (the wax hardens on its own) which makes the whole process almost painless! The waxers here are also the sweetest. I made an appointment with Lesley and she was fantastic. She made sure to explain each step of the waxing process to me while at the same time being super efficient and mindful of my time.
