​I am sharing this to warn others about the lack of transparency and improper techniques I experienced with SkinRN. I am 34 years old female and went in for botox and the lines on my forhead as I have extremely dry skin due to excema. The RN, Kris, charged me for 55 units of Botox back in Jan of 2025, but I have serious concerns about the integrity of the medication. She did not prepare the syringes in front of me; instead, she told me to go sit down in the injection area and did it at her desk where I couldn't see. After 2 weeks, I still had significant movement in both my 11s and my forehead, which should have been frozen per google, my age and what the average dosing is. I now believe the product was heavily diluted. I have since seen a professional in New York (Nov 2025) who used the same 55 units, prepared in front of me, and the results are night and day. My NY injector was able to do my 11s, forehead, AND crow's feet with that amount! This proved to me that the treatment at SkinRN was completely ineffective. ​To make matters worse, when I complained about the lack of results after my first Botox treatment, I was offered a $300 'Skinvive' treatment as I was walking out the door from getting another 55 units with her (May 2025). She injected this into my forehead, which I've since learned is NOT FDA-approved for that area because the skin is too thin--and it should not be injected 15 minutes after getting Botox. She assured me she did Skinvive all the time and the bumbs would go down in time. A year later, I am still suffering from the consequences. The little microdroplets she injected flare up, and my forehead becomes covered in what look like mosquito-bite sized marks whenever I am active. ​It is incredibly unprofessional to charge for a high dose of Botox that doesn't work and then immediately upsell an off-label filler that causes long-term bumps. Kris even told me it was 'not considered a filler,' which I now know is untrue. I only recently learned this product could be dissolved, so I now have to pay another professional to fix the damage she caused. Save your money and go to an injector who is transparent about how much they are injecting and follows FDA guidelines. read more

Refused to do any Botox because I had Botox done 3 months before. The last place I went to on a regular basis would always schedule me for three months. Because she refused to do my Botox I asked if she could do filler because I was already there. I had briefly mentioned that I had made a purchase on Groupon to get filler at a different place but decided I would rather have it done by a "professional" after saying this she also refused to do any filler because she didn't trust that I wasn't going to go to the other place. I am a person who believes in truth in advertising, and the Skin RN is such a place. What they provide is exceptional quality and they stand behind their products. I would recommend this highly skilled team of estheticians for any skin care needs. They are patient and thorough and explain the pros and cons of the services and outline the expectations. Complete bait and switch scam operation out of Janesville, not sure about Kenosha. Called to make an appointment to have botox on my forehead, was given the special of around $8 a unit as a new customer. Being local in Janesville I was excited to stop traveling far to have this done (usually go to Chicago, Rockford, or Madison). With the promotion I was curious to see the results from a local clinic. Receptionist scheduled me, i went in for my appointment and was told by Chris(?) that she will only do 90 (YES NINTY) units of botox on me. Not only that but she informed me that she will not do my forehead that I had to have my eyebrows done, my eyes, and my inner brow, and forehead. (EVERYONE says I look about early to mid 30s...i'm 45, i'm not some prune just a bit OCD about appearance of aging) She said unless she does all 90 units she will not do the procedure as scheduled. I have had this procedure done now for almost 10 years and not a single actual DOCTOR (Chis is *not a doctor she is working her practice under Dr. Mixter's liscense.) has ever recommended more than 30 units. I suddenly realized this was all a scam, she was offering such a low "new customer" rate not to entice my future business and demonstrate her skills, but rather so she could make a initial substantial profit on the "discounted" promo rate. I have spoken to several other ex clients of hers and found that this upselling practice is common there. it is not for any true medical or asthetic reasons other than to force you to pay them more money for procedures you do not want. She even told me if i only get the 25 units that I had an appointment for, that if she did the procedure I would look horrible if so little injected, and just in my forehead... what kind of medical schooling (IF ANY) did she go to other than perhaps an accounting/finance class?? My rebuttal; if my forehead has wrinkles now ANY amount of Botox will only improve their appearance, and secondly I typically just had my forehead only done (by real medical doctors) and the results have ALWAYS been fantastic. So she either doesnt know what she is talking about, or has no confidence in her own skills, or this really has nothing at all to do with a medical or asthetic necessity, but rather pure greed and poor business practices on Skin RN's part. I will also be reaching out to Dr. Mixter about this as this lack of ethics reflects poorly on him as an accredited plastic surgeon. As stated before I have spoken to several of her ex clients and found that I was not the only person treated like a wallet rather than long term client by this practice. I have found her to be flexible and accommodating with scheduling, very easy to talk to, very attentive (she listens to exactly what is desired and then tries her best to achieve it), and very precise and skilled.
