I really love the massages here, I'm pretty sensitive, and Tho is amazing at an actually relaxing massage that gets your knots out. The gift card policy, however, is suspect and illegal. I received a gift card on 5/15/24 via email at 8 pm for my birthday. It clearly stated there was no expiration on it. When I went to use it today, the receptionist stated that gift cards now expire after one year, and that my gift card, that I tried to use on 5/15/25 at noon was expired. It literally was slightly less than one year after it was emailed to me. She said she would make an exception but no exception should have been needed. The place itself is ok. If I was just reviewing the man who gave me a massage it would be five stars, but the actual facility is a little sketch. It's in a weird side street half sized building betwen smelly, noisy restaurants, and you go up an elevator into a space that's lit up like a brothel in Amsterdam: TOTALLY dark inside with like blue/blacklights lighting the space up. That sort of makes you feel like they're hiding something. Then as you move through the cramped space, the decor is cheap and tacky (electric candles, weird sort of branches sticking out of vases. Like the cleaned out the clearance of a TJ Maxx.) Strictly because the place itself is so underwhelming, I really don't think the price tag of the services is warranted. I'd rather hire someone to come directly to my home and pay them the same rate knowing the masseur pockets 100% of what he's paid. read more

I have been going to Skincare Lounge Spa for various services since 2012, & every time I have gone, I've gotten good service, great information as it relates to the services I am receiving including aftercare methods, and a kind encouraging word from the estheticians providing the service. The estheticians here make you feel very comfortable, are kind, & very knowledge about their craft. They have an easy booking service, & allow you to reschedule quickly if necessary. If you have to cancel your appointment after a certain number of hours before your appointment (the cut off point for your appointment), you may be charged a cancellation fee, which is the full price of the service you requested. I was excited to get a facial. I used to get monthly facials before moving back to Philly from NYC. I was given a gift card last holiday season and was planning on cashing in. Of note, there was no expiration date on the gift card. I waited for 25 minutes past my appointment time. The staff was gracious about the wait, but I did have plans for afterwards which made timing tight.. The facial was fine but the steamer's condensation was dripping on my leg and it Was about 50 minutes rather than my booked hour. My gift card was rejected as I guess it was more than a year old which I did not know as there was no expiration date. I was then told that there would be a 3% service charge for using a credit card. It was a bit off putting after trying to treat yourself and exercise self care to have surprise charges. I understand policy about expiring gift cards but if there is no date on it, how can I know when it was purchased. Anywho, I will find somewhere else to go read more

It was my first time ever getting a facial and I'm not gonna lie, I really liked it lol. I got microdermabrasion and signed up via ClassPass. I did not know that I wasn't supposed to use face wash with acid for 1 week prior or it would irritate my face (salicylic acid). Would've been nice to know and I think that's the con of planning a visit through ClassPass. I had a lot of inflammation but the tech suggested red light therapy (I think lol) and it helped a lot. I was red but it didn't hurt or bother me too much. Afterward, my face looked excellent! In terms of the experience, it was WAY more relaxing than I thought! Super comfy table thing to lay on, really well mannered tech, and it had this cute like nightlight thing that was just...a vibe haha. Came here for a facial and massage after receiving any positive recommendations. I reserved online (so easy!) but received a call shortly after confirmation asking if I could come in an hour earlier than chosen. I said I would try my best. When it was all said and done, I was about 30 min earlier than the original time chosen (i.e. I said noon, they asked for 11, I was able to get there at 11:30). Since it was later than they would have liked they took me back as soon as I arrived and didn't bother with filling out any intake forms. The facial from Linh was absolutely amazing and everything that I was promised. She was thoughtful and listened to me. My face was basically glowing afterwards. The massage with Tony was good but not the best I've ever had. Maybe because it came after the facial and honestly that was a hard act to follow. The problem arose when it was time to checkout and my bill came out to a full 20% more than the agreed upon price (a $25 upcharge). I asked why and was told it was due to the rising cost of supplies. I asked where it said that on the website or on my confirmation (literally anywhere?) and was told nothing had been updated because it "took forever" to update the website. After a short, awkward visual showdown, he kindly relented and charged me the amount originally agreed upon. It was so disappointing after such a nice visit that they would try to take me for an extra 20%, and I wondered how many other people didn't push back/know to say no. I have absolutely no arguments with the rising costs of supplies and charging appropriately but to only bring it up after services were received was shady and left a very bad taste in my mouth. read more

I walked in last week Thursday and they were able to schedule me in right away! I had a wonderful facial by Victoria. She was knowledgeable about my skin and knew what I needed. After, I had sport massage by Val. I liked how he explained every muscle and took care of it. Only concern I had is that I noticed during my checkout I paid like $45 more than I expected. Went here with my boyfriend for a couples massage and facials. We got the package with the champagne and berries. The spot is on the third floor and the elevators were broken so we had to take the stairs, which was little sketchy. But once you're in the spot itself, it's super nice and clean. Everyone was so nice and our masseuses were the best! It was so relaxing and they were so attentive to our wants and needs. Only complaint is that they don't actual do couple massages together so we had to be in separate rooms. But overall, it was so nice. My last massage was booked with a female masseuse. However, I showed up and was taken back with a male masseuse. I found out the woman I booked with was on maternity leave which is wonderful and hope her and baby are doing well. As a woman who is not comfortable with having a male masseuse I thought this was unprofessional that I was not made aware of the change prior to my appointment. I felt too uncomfortable to ask for a female after already in the room with the male masseuse. The manager should be notifying their clients when changes are made to their appointment. read more

One of the worst experiences imaginable and I don't take these words lightly. My cousin was visiting from out of town and I booked two different facials for each one of us. Mine was supposed to be the "European-French Facial", which as described in their website, is "...a thorough, deep-cleaning treatment..." and hers was supposed to be one of the Christmas special relaxing facials with an add-on bonus treatment to choose from five different additional treatments. The person checking us in, was very confused and kept asking me if I have the "relaxing" facial. I corrected him 3 different times that I had signed up for the "European-French facial which includes deep cleaning". He kept saying I was confused and that I didn't sign up for that (I will add a screen shot of my email confirmation). The dismissive tone was very demeaning and strange how he kept insisting that I don't understand and need a more relaxing option. Once we went into our separate rooms, to my surprise, the esthetician asked me which facial I was switching to, because the front had told her I was asking to switch!!! I lost count how many times I had to explain that I wasn't switching and wanted the facial I had signed up for with everything that was in the description on their website. She had to leave the room to confirm because she was told otherwise. The facial was just ok. And of course no "deep cleaning" as the website says. At check out, the same person asked me if my facial was "relaxing". Hearing that I was livid but didn't even want to engage with him at that point. He kept talking and told me he was giving me a credit since I had prepaid for a higher level facial than what he went ahead and told the esthetician to provide me with. When I got upset and asked why he did this, in demeaning tone again, he told me because I was confused!!! Someone else came over and asked what the problem was. I shared that I keep saying I wanted the "European-French facial" that I signed up for and now I'm being told that I received a different treatment. Then he flat out lied and said I did get the "deep cleaning one" (his words). And I never received any credit either. As we were leaving (in the staircase), I stopped and asked my cousin which "add-on" service she ended up choosing out of her 5 options. She said she wasn't offered her add-on! Mid-conversation, the same person came after us, in the staircase and insisted to offer us champagne and chocolate. My cousin doesn't drink!! And we asked him to please leave us alone. I was trying to finish the conversation with her but he came back with some chocolate and kept insisting again to bring us champaign!!! We just had to start walking away just to get away. I truly wouldn't go back even if they offered significant discounts. The whole experience was a constant debate and confusion on this person's part. And just rude, pushy and talking down at me. I'm sure both my cousin and I were downgraded (mine for not including "a thorough deep cleaning" and hers for not being given her added-on bonus). Bottom line, what made it the worse experience imaginable was the demeaning insisting that I was confused, when I kept repeating, like a broken record, that I want the "European-French facial" that I signed up for. read more

Pauline uses a "soft tissue melting" technique, which is a form of deep tissue massage, but focusing on trigger points. And best of all, my massage was not unnecessarily painful the way I've experienced during massages at other places. My overall experience was so pleasant, and Pauline is so friendly and knowledgeable about the body - I loved that she was able to provide me with so many health tips that were not even massage-related. I had an amazing experience here recently. I was in town to look at homes and halfway through the week my back was killing me. I really wanted a massage that day but from experience it is very difficult to get a massage on the fly; and if you do it is rarely a great experience. Happily I was able to get a massage that afternoon and it was one of the best if not THE BEST massages I have had to date. Linh was absolutely phenomenal! And I must comment on the salon owner, Anthony; I chatted with him on the way out about my experience as well as various other services that are available and he was so friendly and pleasant. I was able to make a same-day appt for two waxing services with Victoria on 12/12/24. She did a great job, is thorough, quick and possibly the most painless wax I have ever had. She was professional and I felt at ease. When I asked questions about the products they use, she was knowledgeable about which work best and what they do. I would recommend her to anyone. I highly recommend adding the $19 "Brazilian / Bikini Soothing Mask." It is worth it! I have not had one bump or ingrown after my wax. I was greeted at the front desk by the handsome and welcoming Kanul when arriving, checking out and leaving. He let me know there was a 20% discount for 1st time visitors which was a pleasant surprise. I have been to spas with a more luxurious interior than this one, but I found the level of service here to be on par with any of them, and there wasn't anything in the environment that took away from that. I received my first facial at Skincare Lounge Spa done by Clover. The spa itself is beautiful, complete with mood lighting, beautiful decor, and has a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. Clover made sure to listen to my skin concerns, and addressed each one. He went out of his way to explain each product he was using, and how each product would target my specific skin concerns. He was extremely pleasant during the entire facial. The music he was playing was beautiful. The facial massage almost put me to sleep, in a good way. When he got to the extractions he was very gentle but efficient. I took before and after pictures and the difference in the size of my pores before and after the facial/extractions was astronomical. I got the hydrating facial yesterday. I have had facials at many different places in different cities and countries. My impression was that prices overall are good, but the facial I got was okay. I kept emphasizing to the aesthethician that my skin is sensitive because I just got off Accutane (also wrote this in the customer fill out form), but she was exfoliating and scrubbing my face SO HARD.. Also she put such a small amount of moisturizer at the end (which is bad especially after exfoliating) that my face felt so bad afterwards. My face is still red and irritated from the facial right now :( Her massage was great and relaxing, however. And again, good prices, so if your skin is low maintanence and you are on a budget, I would recommend it. But I would rather pay more to get a better care myself. read more

On my most recent visit, I had an amazing massage and facial with Pauline to treat myself for my birthday. I've been to other places that give better service and don't lie about the products they use .... update - since Anthony G. wants to reply with lies , yes they reached and I refused to go back to a place that isn't professional and lies about products. I didn't get a Red Carpet LED facial I got a purifying facial which clearly states La Mer in the services online and how would he know what I got if a women was the one who did my facial and didn't even tell me what she used . This is my new go to place for waxing. I'd been going to a boutique in Rittenhouse Square for a few years now. The staff was friendly and they are thorough. But Skincare Lounge SPA is on another level. They use a soft wax that isn't nearly as hot, making for a near pain free experience. The speed at which they work is amazing! I was in and out in under 30 minutes. Anika was great to talk to and made sure I was comfortable the entire time. And best of all, this place has the best price in town for a Brazilian wax. Got a booty facial which was amazing- a first for me and boy was my bum smooth after! Was informed of the fee ahead of time as it was posted online which is why I was surprised there was an additional $10 added in. When asked by the gentleman he responded that it was the 'Covid fee'. Ok- fine, stuff costs most but TELL people about that somewhere- website, posted in the spa, again SOMEWHERE not at the end of the session.
