Dog friendly! Garbage disposal with bags.

The perfect hide out when the cold front winter is taking over. Marathon Airport is only 5 minutes away !! Don't feel guilty, it's also kid and dog friendly

We had a great deal of issues starting off with this place as far as simply getting in our room. They use a wristband for entry and we needed to go up and down the stairs a total of 4 times before gaining entry. The lady at nighttime reception was very nice and said that they were definitely having a ton of issues with their locking system. The room had a bad Oder upon entry. They used a plug-in to try to disguise some of the smell, but it was not pleasant either. The condition of our deck was pretty bad with a lot of cracks. The light fixtures in the room were not properly attached to the ceiling. The A/C was inoperable in the BR. The only way to get ice is to go to the front desk. Lastly, the Wi-Fi was not working in our room at all. Simply put a great deal of deferred maintenance. The buffet breakfast definitely was basic at best. We booked for three nights and Lydia the manager, did let us out after one night, however she did charge us $50 for canceling our three night reservation early.

This is our second time within the year that we've stayed at skipjack. This time we brought nine family members . We had connecting suites which were clean and the breakfast was so good! Kudos to Cha Cha at the pool bar for always helping with food and drinks. The pool and cabanas are such great amenities. We took a short drive to Sombrero Beach and had a great time. The location of the hotel can not be beat!

Easy solid four or more. They're sort of a resort in becoming with some ongoing remodeling and hurricane repairs going on. Our room in the condo/hotel area was nice enough. Big comfy bed. Plenty of hot water with adequate water pressure. Two big TVs. Happy, happy, happy. A few things. I didn't like having to run to the front desk and ask for ice every time we needed it. Even cheap hotels have ice machines!! Would have also have preferred if they had sundries and snacks available for sale at the front desk instead of merch. That's a missed opportunity. Also didn't like having to wear a plastic bracelet everywhere and since my hands are too big to take them on or off, I had to break it off and modify it to comply. Also, a few of our outlets didn't work and the towel rack kept falling apart. Small stuff. Some of the staff were very friendly and helpful and others just weren't. Scolding me about my bracelet and such, oh gawd. Pool area's nice and we would have done the bar twice but it was closed one late afternoon for whatever reason. Walked in and out of breakfast, was too crowded. Looked too much like we threw a flashlight on a bunch of bats when we walked in! Yipes. Restaurant's very promising but we never had a chance to try it. Maybe next time? Also be nice if they made some additional ramps to get the carts up to the elevator instead of having a walk all the way around through gravel to another approach. Small things I'm sure they'll address. I think of a resort as a destination and honestly we'd of been disappointed if we were stuck here ....but we also didn't pay a whole lot so we didn't really care.

The pictures are deceiving. I would never stay here again. We are currently staying at the hotel but I would not again. The floors were really dirty when we got into the room and our daughter had black hands and knees in about 15 minutes after crawling around. I requested from the front desk that they clean the floors and the employee treated me as though we were asking too much. He never apologized and had an attitude. The pack n play they gave us was broken, the sharp broken poles on the bottom could have hurt our daughter. The grounds are littered with trash and construction debris. We paid 500 dollars a night to stay here, I recommend you do not.

My family stayed here for 3 nights and it was a very pleasant stay. They have some good amenities, great views, and pretty accessible to a lot of restaurants, stores and sombrero beach is a few minutes away. Will come back and stay here again!

My boyfriend and I stayed here for four nights in December. The staff were very kind and friendly. We were delayed on our flight and they were able to keep the office open for us to check in during the evening. We were a little apprehensive about the complementary breakfast, but it ended up being good. We ended up eating at the restaurant two nights out of the four and enjoyed the bar. Our bartender Kevin was awesome as well as the other bartenders. They have karaoke night, which was a lot of fun to watch. Our room was very clean and smelled good. They cleaned our room every day. The property was a little rundown and the gym on the premises was very old. I did not see too many people using the amenities. I would definitely come back in the warmer season. Sombrero Beach is down the block, which was very convenient.

Pool bar life!

JJason at the pool bar was awesome! Great conversation and recommendations for things to do in the area! Shout put to Carmen too for slinging a drink when we came in 10 minutes before closing the first night we got here!

While planning for vacation, I noticed Sombrero Beach in Marathon and thought it would be a nice place to visit on our way to Key West. The Skipjack Resort & Marina was nearby and well rated. The online booking site had an advertised rate of $220 per night for a 1 bedroom suite with a King bed so I took the plunge. We ate lunch at a picnic table on Sombrero Beach overlooking the ocean and arrived early at the Skipjack. Two very nice young ladies explained everything and checked us in. Our room was on the 3rd floor with a balcony overlooking tennis courts which were being used as trailer parking. The other side of the building faced the lagoon where many boats were docked. The room was spacious, the king bed was comfortable and there was a kitchenette if you wanted to save some money on meals. Some damage to the outside of the buildings from the recent hurricane is still noticeable. A nine hole golf course resides directly across the street but we chose to go for a swim instead. The pool was nice but could have been cleaner. A tiki bar sat poolside and the adjacent food service cooked pizzas only. We ate pizza and had drinks until late in the evening while talking with locals and other guests including a very nice mom and daughter from WI, who were on their way back from Key West. It wasn't a spectacular bar but it was relaxing and required no driving to get back to the room. Socializing was the highlight of the Skipjack. We had their continental breakfast which wasn't very special but was included in the price. Some guests were having breakfast on the balconies as we made our way back to the room to pack. Overall, the room was great and we really didn't get to appreciate it because we spent so little time in it. The Skipjack did not have the greatest resort amenities but some unique ones like a boat launch and a beach shuttle. I would certainly stay at the Skipjack Resort & Marina again.

The whole resort is amazing. We have been "island hopping" and stopped here for a night. The hospitality is unlike any place I've ever been! They welcome you upon check-in with beverage tickets, give you free breakfast and a ton of amenities. Complimentary bikes, games, ping pong, kayaks - you name it they offer it or will find a way to make it happen! Debbie, the manager is top notch on her game, making sure everyone is having a good time. The bar guys, Ward & Luke are exceptional with service and hospitality.. Very friendly, accommodating & go out of their way to make your experience the best. The restaurant menu is very affordable, and the food is so delicious!! They are family owned and operated, and they got skills!! We suggest the dynamite shrimp, steak tacos & their fries! (These aren't just any type of fries, y'all!) Totally would stay here again & sad we're only here for a day!

Lowlights - Restaurant and rooftop bar closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays - Water ground is sludgey and not fun to walk on. Also sometimes an unpleasant odor. - Door to our main balcony was broken after our first night so for several days we couldn't go out there. Bummer cause was the main place we planned to hang out. The rooms and bathrooms are surprisingly spacious, with multiple room configurations available. Many of the suites could easily accommodate a family of four or five. We weren't traveling as a family, though we were there for a romantic getaway, and it was the perfect setting for that as well. The property has three pools, giving everyone options. There's a huge main pool, a nice-sized adults-only pool (which was a bit of a walk from our room, but we still spent most of our pool time there), and a smaller pool right outside our room that we absolutely loved. We visited during one of the hottest weeks of the year, so the smaller pool felt more like a warm bath than a refreshing swim...but that's Florida in July! One nice features was the protected swimming area in the ocean. It was such a fun place to cool off, float, and enjoy the beautiful water. The tiki bar overlooking the ocean is gorgeous and has the perfect island vibe. There's also a small restaurant on the property that opens for dinner after 5:00 p.m., but pretty $$$ One unexpected bonus was the amazing Cuban restaurant directly across the street. We ate there several times during our stay (I'll be writing a separate review because it deserves one!). Another great attraction is the Turtle Hospital, which is literally next door. It's an inspiring place to visit and made it easy to enjoy an educational outing before heading back to relax at the resort. A few things to know before you go: * Pool service is available, but if you're expecting quick cabana-style service, be prepared to wait. * There is one small fitness center, and it's also where the ice machine is located. We were lucky because our room was nearby. * If you use a lot of ice, consider bringing a cooler and extra ice with you. Most rooms have refrigerators, but not all include a freezer, as an example ours did not. But lucked out on location *room 107 What truly set Tranquility Bay apart, however, was the staff. During a small medical issue I experienced, their response went far beyond simply following protocol. They were there immediately, but what impressed us even more was the genuine concern they showed afterward. There's a difference between employees who are simply protecting the company and those who truly care about their guests as people. The team at Tranquility Bay showed us they genuinely care, and we'll never forget that kindness. We also had an issue with my husband's motorcycle, and Jose was there right away to help. His willingness to jump in without hesitation is another example of the outstanding customer service we experienced throughout our stay. Beautiful property, spacious accommodations, relaxing pools, stunning ocean views, and a staff that treats you like family, that combination is what makes Tranquility Bay a place we'd happily recommend. Whether you're planning a family vacation or a romantic escape, we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

On last full day when we stopped by front desk to talkl about our experience, we were given a discount certificate for same day dining. Nice gesture but did little to allay the issues.Amenities on property are terrific but disappointed that water park isn't available until August. Advertising said "summer 2026," so we thought it would be open in June, but no. Grandsons didn't know the difference since the pool and lagoon are awesome, as was our reef fishing trip on the Salt Walker. We caught many yellowtail snapper and had Angler and Ale prepare fish for dinner that night. Restaurants are quite good with excellent service and priced as you would expect for resort dining (Salt and Ash is excellent and priced accordingly) Not sure if we will return to Hawk's Cay after this trip. It's a long trip from Colorado and a long drive from MIA for what we paid vs overall experience.

Great Stay With Some Service & Logistics Gaps…read more Overall, we had a genuinely great experience as first-time visitors traveling without kids but with service animals. The property shines in many areas, especially if you're looking for a relaxing resort atmosphere with beautiful water views, pet-friendly accommodations, and a fun, laid-back vibe. That said, there were a few frustrating misses that held this back from being a 5-star stay. THE GOOD * Beautiful beach & lagoon area - Easily one of the highlights of the property. Relaxing, scenic, and fun overall. * Salt + Ash is a must - Exceptional food and one of the best dining experiences on property. The wine selection was top-notch and the beef tenderloin was outstanding. Easily our favorite restaurant. * Incredible staff throughout the resort - Bell staff, valet, oceanfront servers, housekeeping crew, and pool staff were consistently kind, personable, and welcoming. * Staff who go above and beyond - Huge shoutout to Joshua, who helped us secure chairs near the adult pool, and Danielle, who took time to chat, swap stories, and made us feel genuinely welcome. Hospitality like that sticks with you. * Captain's Suite is worth the upgrade - Strongly recommend spending the extra money if budget allows. The added space made the trip: dining area, living room, fridge, two toilets, large balcony, and beautiful water views overlooking the pool and lagoon. It elevated the experience tremendously. * Extremely pet & service animal friendly - This place deserves serious praise here. Few resorts feel this comfortable and accommodating for travelers with animals. Staff were respectful, welcoming, and there were no awkward restrictions or friction. If you travel with pets or service animals, this property stands out. * Tiki Grill - Great atmosphere for drinks and relaxing. Perfect for unwinding poolside. * 20% off dining on property helped offset costs - Appreciated perk considering resort pricing. THE NOT-SO-GOOD * Front desk communication & housekeeping logistics need work - This was our biggest frustration. We stayed in a Captain's Suite and requested both a room cleaning and balcony cleaning (bird droppings had accumulated on the balcony) around 10 AM. The front desk wrote down our room number and assured us it would be taken care of. When we returned around 3:30 PM, neither had been done. By after 4:30 PM, the room had finally been cleaned, but the balcony still hadn't been addressed. When you pay extra for a premium room and oceanfront balcony experience, this feels disappointing. There also seems to be a mild pigeon issue, and balcony maintenance should really be part of a regular checklist. Some simple bird deterrents or more proactive cleaning would go a long way. * Concierge/text support didn't materialize - We were told we'd receive a concierge-style welcome text shortly after check-in for support/questions. Unfortunately, we never received it. To make matters worse, the room phones didn't work, meaning concerns had to be addressed in person while waiting in the front desk line. * Food quality was inconsistent - Salt + Ash was phenomenal, but not every dining experience matched that standard. Tiki Grill: Great drinks and atmosphere, but the food was forgettable, under-seasoned, and not something we'd order again. Fine in a pinch. Angler & Ale: Beautiful waterfront views and exceptional staff, but the food leaned heavily fried and felt more like average bar food than resort dining. Fish and chips were disappointing. Oddly enough, the banana split ended up redeeming the meal. * Convenience store prices were shocking - Convenient? Yes. Affordable? Not even close. A few sodas and snacks escalated to $60+ surprisingly fast. I expected a slightly easier option versus restaurant pricing, but the markup felt extreme. * Parking costs add up - Valet runs about $40/day and self-parking is roughly half, but expect around a 10-minute walk with luggage, making valet feel almost mandatory. FINAL THOUGHTS Despite some communication breakdowns and uneven food experiences, we truly enjoyed our stay. The Captain's Suite, peaceful balcony views, fire pit at night, lagoon, beach access, pickleball, and pet-friendly atmosphere made for memorable moments. My advice: upgrade to the Captain's Suite, eat at Salt + Ash (seriously, get the beef tenderloin), enjoy the tiki drinks, walk the grounds, soak in the sun, and be selective about food choices elsewhere. Use the convenience store sparingly. Fix the housekeeping/communication gaps, improve how guests can raise concerns without standing in line, and clean those balconies consistently--and this place could easily become a 5-star destination.

All the staff were extremely nice and attentive The only negative I could say was that the reception/lobby building was a little hard to find, but it wasn't that bad. After checking in, everything else was great. We booked a cabana in the main pool which was large enough that we weren't really splashed or annoyed by little kids, and there were a lot there considering it was 4th of July weekend. The other pools were also nice, and just plain rectangular pools with lounge chairs around. They also have an over 21 pool which was pretty private and was great for an alternative to the large pool if the kids had been an issue. The resort has the nicest hotel store I've ever seen and they make fresh salads and sandwiches and had pastries and coffee and gelato along with other resort wear and items you may have forgotten. In that building you can book kayaks, padddle boards, jet skis, fishing etc. We wanted to do paddle boarding but the oars had melted from the heat, so we kayaked and melted ourselves from the heat but it was great and reasonably priced. There is beach access as well and the staff did a great job of cleaning the seaweed from the beach, however, the water was too warm to enjoy. Luckily the pools were perfect temps. Food and drinks were good, not crazy prices for a resort on July 4th. They had live music that was great and in multiple locations. Overall, we are 100% coming back for a day pass and will likely book a weekend at the hotel in the future.

You walk upstairs to the kitchen and wrap-around porch level, then upstairs again via a spiral staircase to bedrooms, bathrooms and the sitting area. This was not a problem for us, but the group next door included a woman who'd just had foot surgery and she was struggling getting in and out of the unit. You will also need to be able to carry your suitcase up two flights of stairs. Our unit had an updated kitchen, but bathrooms really need updating as well. They are tiny and sad, with shelving and cabinets made of particle board. Location is fine, though you have to drive down a rather industrial road to get to the property. What to expect: Pull out couch is horrible. Shower heads have extremely low pressure. Our bathroom…read morefaucet leaked everywhere. Our bedsheets were not soft and felt sandy. I honestly dont know if they were fresh. There is no Bell man, no pool service, no room service. Not sure why they call it a Hotel or a resort. It was more like a high class expensive motel. The sea weed does not get cleaned up on a regular daily basis and give off a very bad smell. We could not use the beach as we planned on our very last day of our trip. Otherwise cute place, great views, fully equipped kitchen, polite staff, and right next to a fun cute bar.

Loved this resort! Best part is you have access to 2. Both…read morehave pools with bar and ocean views. Music never stops and neither does the relaxing fun. Check in was easy (they even got us in early). Rooms were nice, sheets were clean, room was stocked and cool. Fridge in every room and all toiletries available. We jumped from pool to pool and when needed relaxation went over to the private beach area. The weather was sunny and windy. It was the perfect combination of a nap on there numerous provided hammocks. There's always some festivity going on to choose from but we went our own route. Happy hour is available even on the weekends and make sure to grab some bites. There are a couple of fast food places around just in case and local restaurants but all you really need is here at the resort. Our days were filled with ocean breezes, cold cocktails, naps by the sea, and the perfect sunsets. Also available were spa services and gym. Take advantage of it all!

General - We came here for our 2026 winter vacation. We were looking for sun and sand and found it…read morein Marathon, Florida! Location - This hotel is located right in the middle of Marathon in the Florida Keys. Marathon is a fairly large city when looking at the keys and this hotel is right in the middle of everything this island has to offer. You are close to many different restaurants, a Publix, famous 7-Mile Bridge and the one of the best beaches in the Keys, Sombrero Beach. Rooms & Building - Rooms are all suites and spacious. They reminded me of what you would find normally at an Embassy Suites. The style and theme was modern, nautical which fit the surrounding area. The room had a fridge and microwave and a small living area. The bathroom had a spacious rainfall shower and large vanity with plenty of room to spare. Amenities - The hotel has two outdoor pools onsite. The pools are heated and stayed comfortable throughout our stay. The site also offers a small butterfly garden, green space with firepits and hammocks, and beautiful marina views (and sunsets). The property grounds are well maintained and beautiful. Food - Breakfast is not included in your stay but there is a restaurant and coffee shop onsite. The coffee shop serves Cuban-style coffee which was unique and very good. The breakfast sandwiches at the coffee shop were also pretty good. We didn't eat at the restaurant but the food menu looked interesting. Vibe - Easy going staff and customers. No complaints. Reality vs. Online - Pictures that I saw on their website and online matched the quality and condition of the hotel and rooms in-person. No surprises. Price & Final Verdict - If you are looking for a luxurious stay while in the Florida Keys, Faro Blanco offers a good mix of luxury and hotel-styled amenities. One neat perk - if you are a Diamond member, you can use the amenities at their sister resort next door (infinity pool, hot tub, and man-made beach). Prices tend to fall into the $300's+ for a night, so this place might not be in everyone's price range or interest.

I very much enjoyed my 3-night stay at this hotel…read more Compared to other Hampton Inns I have stayed at, this one had the most spacious room. It even had a wet bar with an extra sink and an outdoor patio area with a couple of chairs and a small table. There was also a larger-than-average fridge, microwave, and safe. Possibly my favorite thing about Hampton Inns is the included breakfast. It's so convenient to have a wide selection of foods available to start your day. There's always some meat (typically sausage patties or bacon), eggs (typically scrambled or frittatas), and breakfast potatoes; oatmeal, yogurt, and some toppings; cereal (frosted flakes, cheerios, and I forget the last one) and milk; bagels, bread, and toppings (cream cheese, butter, jam, etc.); fruit (typically bananas and apples); waffle batters (vanilla and a rotating flavor like blueberry or banana) and an iron; juice (typically OJ and apple or POG); and I'm probably missing other things. There is ice, hot and cold water, tea, and coffee available 24/7. Other amenities include a pool, tiki bar that serves drinks and food in the pool area, room service, a decent gym, and a little dock where iguanas like to hang out throughout the day. Service was excellent. Parking is $10/night with in and out privileges and there are plenty of stalls. And because of the layout of the hotel which only has 2 levels of rooms, you may be able to park right outside your room's patio door.
