Roto-Rooter is all I'd ever heard of but mostly because of their commercials, not reviews. Looking at some online experiences, people were estimating $300-$400, my jaw dropped! Instead, I first called a local company who didn't give me the time of day and was very rude so I decided against them as well. (A little side note here, I can't stand when you tell someone that you just want an estimate and when they give you one, and you say, "I'm gonna call around and get some more, thank you" they go on the defensive and start bashing every other company in town. To me, that's just childish; tell me what sets you apart from other companies in the area and be dignified about it.) Ok, back on point now... I called A-1 a little past 10:00pm and the man I spoke to (I wish I remembered his name because he was great) gave me an estimate and explained what he thought might be the issue. He answered all my questions and said he could have someone out at 8:15am the next morning. I was surprised because the last place couldn't even get me in the next day. Morning came and Tyler from A-1 showed up on time, assessed the situation and within 5 minutes, was laying down drop cloth and rolling in his machine. About an hour later, he was done and now everything drains correctly. The best part, the price I was quoted, was the price I paid! I won't give specifics, but let's say it was probably a little less than half of what I would've paid with Roto-Rooter. Bottom line, a great local company that knows how to talk to customers on the phone, show up on time, and get the job done at the price that was quoted.

After reading many reviews, I gave A-1 a call. The receptionist was very courteous and knowledgeable about the pricing and services. I was able to get them over within just a couple hours. When they arrived, they were all set and ready to go. Gave Travis a run down of what the issues were, general thoughts and what had been done already and minutes later Travis and Terry had everything hooked up, rolled out a towel and got to work. Job was done, in and out, less than an hour. Fast, knowledgeable and friendly service. They took the time to explain what was really going on and talked us through as they worked. Turned out the issue was far less severe than I anticipated. I would definitely recommend them if you are looking for a good honest local company. My husband took time off work as he works an hour away. Unfortunately, no technician arrived. The next morning, he called and was assured that someone would be there at 4pm that day. He took additional time off work. He called at 4:30, he was told we were the next stop after the technician finished the current job. Again, no one showed up. He contacted a competitor who was able to schedule us for the next day with an exact appointment time. One thing that stood out was that every time he called, he spoke with a different person. I'm not sure what is happening with the dispatch/office processes, but the service seemed disorganized with no regard to customer service or managing expectation.
