I hate to say no to any golf courses but I'm beside myself after today's round. First off, Cart path only should've been rescinded by 1pm but they never did but that's not why I'm upset. I called grill on the 9th tee so food would be ready and not mess up pace of play. Lady informed me you can't call in orders. That's pretty dumb but ok I told her I'd come in at the turn and she told me no, we have to wait til we finish 18. That they don't serve food to players on the turn. That's the most idiotic thing I've ever heard of. All they have on carts is hot dogs that are awful and I didn't want to eat crap. I'm flabbergasted . They probably cost themselves $20-70 per group . Has to be worst management decision in all of golf and we won't be back read more

We play here occasionally, but today was the slowest it's ever been. My mother doesn't play golf, but she enjoys walking along with us, so we brought her along--however, we had to pay an extra $45 for a cart fee. It was an outrageously expensive charge. read more

Golf here was great, the course was well maintained. The bar/restaurant area is awesome with a ton of TV's, large seating area both inside and outside looking out on the course. Menu looked promising, some bbq, sandwiches, wraps, and they also had an old school ice cream cart. I ordered the buffalo chicken wrap with a side of jalapeño mac n cheese. The wrap had chopped breaded tenders on the inside which were good but the wrap was very unbalanced. Kind of fell apart, and each bite was either 90/10 lettuce chicken, or the other way around. Lacked buffalo sauce as well, not a ton of flavor. Service was great at the bar, friendly and fast. read more

The starter was very rude and did not make me feel welcome to become a member here, all while removing me from my single cart (below average player here) to accompany a group of three. This slowed play down dramatically, instead of letting me play at my own pace. How am I supposed to play rushed. I ended up not getting to play out 3-4 holes. From the very first conversation with Keaton Dixon, we knew we had finally found the right place for our son's wedding reception. Her positive, welcoming attitude immediately set Sky Creek Ranch apart. When Keaton invited us to tour the venue, we fell in love with the indoor space. The large windows overlooking the golf course create such a beautiful, open, and elegant atmosphere. The grounds themselves are stunning, and after seeing the space in person and meeting Keaton, we signed the contract right away. Over the following months, we exchanged more than 60 emails as we planned every detail. Keaton's communication was impeccable: always prompt, clear, patient, and incredibly supportive. She guided us through every step with professionalism and warmth. On the day of the wedding reception, everything was exactly as we hoped: seamless, organized, and beautiful. Sky Creek Ranch is my happy place! I love it so much. The course is challenging, the service is outstanding, the greens are fantastic even after a crazy long string 100+ degree days. They golf carts are the best anywhere, the food is some of the best you'll find at any golf course. We come here all the time just to eat even if we aren't playing golf that day. Simon the golf pro instructor is INCREDIBLE! With a short lesson he had me hitting some of the best balls of my life and it felt effortless. My kids and I love the putting green and regularly ask me to go putt. We placed membership because I'm thrilled to come here as much as possible. I HIGHLY recommend you come give it a try. read more

I am not a member and while the course is open to the public remember if you book when it's open to non member play it can get a bit crowded, however the course is fun, challenging and well done. The layout has a lot of challenges and a lot of hazards. Everything is top notch. read more

Driving range is ok. Somewhat crowded at all times of the day. The practice chipping green is a bit small. The practice putting green isn't in the best shape. The course is very nice. I called to book a round and they said they were booked for the day. I then mentioned that my friend is playing at 10am and that he had an open spot in his group and for them to look him up. I came with my boyfriend to watch him play golf at Sky Creek Ranch Golf Club. When he went inside to pay, the guys in the pro shop said that the golf course was wide open, so we didn't need to rush. But, once he mentioned that I would be riding with him today, they had the audacity to charge him an extra $25.00 just for me to sit next to him in his cart; to which they said it was because they have a limited amount of carts. WTF!?!? On another note....Our friend Ordered a hotdog & fries, and had to wait over 15 minutes for the hotdog to be cooked!?!? Then once he finally got the hotdog, they said they did not have any French Fries ready..... so would he like chips instead!! Again WTF!?!? Lastly, when my boyfriend called on Monday, he was told that the greens were lightly topdressed and that he wouldn't even notice the sand. I don't know why this course ever comes up under "public" courses - even the driving range is PRIVATE.

The course is good but that's about the only good part. Same golf carts since they first opened (breaks don't work on 50% of them) and atrocious pace of play. They say it should 4-4.5 hours so plan for a 20 minute break in between each shot. read more

This is an excellent choice for golf in DFW. Located in Keller (just west of Southlake) Sky Creek offers a challenging layout and the course is in good condition. Keaton was very friendly and set up our starting time over the phone. Gary (outside staff) was great at explaining the location of the golf shop, driving range and practice facilities. The golf shop staff is excellent. The golf shop has a good variety of merchandise and is well organized. Pro tip - Play up one set of tees, you will have a more enjoyable experience. read more

You want to like it, the people are nice, the course is challenging and they have a nice lounge and kitchen area. It's an old school course but not a dog track as I've read. Good place to try and beat, and this time of year the fairways aren't great nor is the area around greens. Tough to get clean shots with such a shallow pan. But the worse thing is that it plays so freaking slow. I've played here a few times and it never changes, and it's fine for the neighbors and it's membership because apparently it's what they tolerate. To me, it's not worth the time being there. The 4 1/2 hour round as a measure is to me a myth. The pace of play could be much better than that at certain times of day and people on the course. But this pace of play is unacceptable to me. read more

This place is a joke. Made an 8:34 tee time on a Sunday morning. Pace of play sucked. It took 1:26 to play 3 holes. There is some slow talker trying to be snoody pro shop worker by the name of Ian I believe. Well I asked for our money back. He says he couldn't do it, but I didn't sign up for a 6 hour round of golf either. This place charged us $90 a piece. You think you would get better service. Not from Ian. I just won't go back. Yeah finally with attitude he gave us our money back. Like I was taking the money out of his pocket. Really dude, you know your pace was horrible and tried lying about it when Trying to justify your bad attitude. Oh yeah when you spend $90 for a round of golf, you charge for range balls? The is fu ing dumb. What's 15-20 range balls in a small bucket. We already paid $5.00 more for the round since booked on an outside website. This place is a joke, they think it's a resort or some 5-star country club. It's more like a dump in the back woods of a crap field. The course is in good shape, the starters were total as*&^$%'s, told us that our tee time was changed to 10:54 went to the box, was chased down and asked what our tee time was again, then informed us of our original tee time, then we were told that a single had to go with us! Everyone at Sky Creek Ranch did absolutely amazing!! From the planning, to the ceremony, to the food everything was perfect. Keaton was wonderful with the planning and getting everything organized for the big day. She was very friendly and attentive any time I had questions, and she was great with being flexible anytime I wanted to make changes. We had our own private bridal suite for me and my bridesmaids to get ready. We really appreciated having this quiet private space to get ready, then having a safe place to leave our things that was locked during the ceremony and reception. This is a gorgeous venue with a beautiful set up for our outdoor ceremony. The area for the ceremony and the clubhouse were set up perfectly. We were so surprised how reasonably priced the bar was. We had a cash bar because it made the most sense for us. Not only was the bar service wonderful, everything was very reasonably priced so all of our guests were happy to buy their own drinks. The waitstaff was very friendly and very attentive. No one could stop talking about how amazing the food was. The appetizers we had were stuffed mushrooms and spinach artichoke. They were both great and everyone loved them. We had the garden salad with ranch or balsamic, which tasted wonderful and was the perfect portion. For the sides we had rolls with butter (which I had my husband get me more lol), herb roasted potatoes, and sautéed squash and zucchini (which I would never normally eat, but ate every piece). Then our entree was an 8oz Ribeye, cooked medium rare to medium. The ribeye was AMAZING! It was seasoned and cooked perfectly. We were also able to provide food for or DJ and his assistant as well as our officiant/day of coordinator and her assistant. This was a big thing for us and very much appreciate by them. Imaginative amenities and friendly reception staff! Wonderful getaway from a stressful week. Well almost. I'm sorry to say that the food was just not up to par. Much of it was dry and poorly-plated, and seemed just a vague impression of what was suggested in the menu. A really abrupt contrast to what is otherwise a wonderful resort. I made a small comment to our sweetheart waitress and she was Very apologetic, offering to remedy it however she could. We didn't cause too much of a fuss, but it was clear in her eyes that this is not the first time she's had to handle disappointed patrons. Heads up! This course will whoop your A$$!! Bring lots of balls. What makes it so hard you ask? Let me count the ways! Domed/elevated greens. Lots of forced carry shots. Tight bowling alley fairways. No bail out zones near greens. If you miss, your ball is likely to either be gone or 8 feet below the putting surface. This course is mean! The facilities are nice. The conditions are consistent. Greens were ridiculously fast. (I'm not sure that's really necessary to be honest) I literally was tapping my putts to only watch it fly by the hole by 6 feet. I hit a shot within 12 ft of the flag on a par 3 only to end up 3-putting b/c the greens are so ridiculous. I am a single digit handicapper and I barely kept my score in the double digit range. A supremely frustrating day to say the last. Just get yourself in the right frame of mind before coming out to this track. Staff was great. The grill was great. Pro shop was nice. Practice facilities good. Course ... beyond difficult for the average golfer. read more

This is a fabulous venue for a wedding! We were never told "we can't do that." The staff, Keaton and David in particular, were amazing to work with. Our every question and concern was addressed immediately. Keaton answered my emails within minutes every single time! The wedding was without a hitch. The price is all inclusive - we just added table decorations. The food was great and staff was accommodating to our guests, and 125 people had a lovely time! Ever since the renovation, this course is absolutely beautiful. The greens are crisp, the fairways are velvety, and the scenery is pristine. Be warned - this course can play very difficult, especially from the roughs. My only knock on this course is that the pin placements can often be laughable. I completely understand making the placements challenging, but several holes had the cup placed on top of completely un-puttable ridges. Even though I pretend to be PGA caliber, I am far from it. read more
