Visited Mesa Rim Climbing Center for the first time. Friends had recommended and it wasn't a disappointment. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The facility was clean. It's great they offer day passes and have snacks available for purchase. Our son had a blast climbing. We will return!

I love this gym! It's super clean and has towel service with a coed sauna. It has a huge selection for rock climbing and bouldering. I am so happy to be coming to such a nice gym. They also have yoga everyday and many events always going on for the community. They have a section. upstairs where you can sit on your computer and get some work done, they have some fast wifi for everyone. I do like to weightlifting and they do not have any machines or the cable machine even. It has been an adjustment, but they have a squat rack and all the weights you need. It's forced me to just have solely free weight routines now, which are just as efficient. They have a whole cardio section of machines upstairs and a balcony. I will be bringing friends here to climb, just to let you know they do not have auto belays there.

Clean gym with lots of space for bouldering! The staff were friendly and approachable. It was our first time and the staff were patient and kind in answering our questions. We went during a busy time and still got plenty of time on the wall. We will definitely be going back!

Came here for my first time climbing with my boyfriend and we loved it. Super clean, no loud music, other members were kind. & thank you to the team member Dylan who showed us around and gave us a tour of the place. We will definitely be coming back and getting a membership

Let me just start by.... I LOVE MESA RIM! I didn't really get into climbing until I used a buddy pass at Mesa, and it completely changed my attitude from "once in a while" to "I want to be good now". Mesa is a beautiful gym. It's massive and has a huge variety of both ropes and bouldering. Plus the routes change frequently so you're never bored! Mesa Rim also offers a weight lifting gym, yoga classes, cardio machines, and other less common events such as woman's bouldering, competitions and more! They have a suggestions box, and they share peoples comments and concerns and take a real effort to address these which is great. The staff is super friendly and actually gets to know you. This is something that I find dire in a gym. Many people get discouraged from going and working out at a gym, but being greeted and remembered makes it a lot easier to keep up on your fitness. There are also showers and a sauna which are nice to use after a good workout. Only downside for me is the shorter hours on the weekends, but it makes sense considering people probably do not come late on those days.

We absolutely LOVE Mesa Rim! Our family decided to try a week (which included gear rental and belay class) because kids' programs right now (started January 2021) don't seem to require masks for kids. We aren't willing to chance that quite yet, but Mesa Rim takes COVID procedures very seriously AND everyone is having fun, working out, being challenged! The staff is so super nice and every single person has greeted our family (two parents and four kids ages 9, 8, 7, and 3) warmly. Our kids are super active (and the three year old is also loud! ‍), but everyone there has been so patient and understanding. The kids love the boulder/ free climb area, and we usually start there. We've been going long enough that we've seen a couple of route changes already - very exciting for the kids! There's also a "donut room" with four of the lowest level top-rope climbs that is PERFECT for our family. It is usually frequented by kids, but we parents have also belayed one another in that room since the kids can be mostly contained while we are taking turns climbing. After ski season, we'll have the older boys take a private lesson and try out Adventure Series. Bathrooms/ changing areas are super clean, there is a sauna (which should operate again after covid), and all of the workout equipment is there to use. Yoga is included with membership, and other classes are offered. We haven't explored them yet because we're still figuring all of the things out. We are so so so so so SO grateful to have found such a gem!!! There is something for everyone!

All of these factors have made me feel incredibly welcome and supported as a new student. However, one teacher in particular has really made certain that I will keep coming back long after my new student special has ended. I have predominantly been a bikram method yogi previously because I consider myself to be choreographically challenged and I always have trouble following along with all the changing movements of yoga classes. I often times get exasperated and anxious, feeling like I simply can't keep up, nor do I know how to adjust myself when I get off track and lost. However, the instructor Kat Ames has really helped me feel hand held and guided with the most incredible patience trying to help me understand how to really drop into every posture she recommends. Her kind corrections and adjustments feel gentle and supportive and I love how she actually SEES me and is paying attention to what I am doing - like my experience as a student in her class truly matters. Thanks to Kat I am learning new ways to use yoga tools like balls and straps and I can thoughtfully notice whether a posture is really softening the part of my body we are targeting because my teacher uses language that is so relatable and specific. Not to mention, I absolutely love it when she breaks out her sound bath bowls. They just make me feel like I am relaxing in another dimension. Thank you Kat and thank you to The Studio for offering such great instructors and so much yoga diversity!

The teacher was okay but it's never okay to use profanity of any kind in a class situation and it's quite offensive. Considering I was a first time student she should have watched herself. In the end the class itself was wrong for me; too many props used. My Yogis always taught me that props are not a good idea...and I agree somewhat. I have a block and a strap that can be handy when I've returned to my mat after many falls and severe injuries. I've been a Yogi for 24 years. I several advanced training courses that I've taken over the years. I attended the "Harvard" of Yoga schools in 2005. It's called White Lotus and is located in the stunning Santa Barbara. In a few years I will be opening up my own Yoga Studio in Southern California, I so miss my Cali, not the taxes just the vibe... Every now and then I go back to the Bay Area to teach private classes to my loyal students. The location of this place is in the busy midtown area of Reno. Thankfully the parking wasn't a issue on a Sunday at 3. The studio was very nice and clean.

I came to Midtown because it is a little closer to my side of town and the schedule was perfect for my needs. I was able to get my first class free to try it out. I already knew I was impressed after the first class, but just in case I was not hooked I decided to do the new student pack of unlimited yoga classes for the first month for only 45.00. All the staff seem to be very helpful and very nice to talk to. The teachers are very knowledgeable about the practice. Most classes are for about and hour and 15 min and some even offer the essential oil to help relax at the end of practice. If you are new to yoga or looking for an affordable place for your practice you should give Midtown a try.

You know some places it's obvious that everyone in the class has been going for years and the instructor explains what she's doing but she's going so fast that you really can't get into? This is not that! Every class I have tried I have thoroughly enjoyed. I never feel like a bother when I have to ask for clarification and generally, I don't even have to ask because it's either been explained well or the instructor is cruising around correcting posture and whatnot as she teaches. I feel completely comfortable here. The studio itself is very warm and inviting. Both of the rooms have their charm and I love the floors, I think they are cork? My one hesitation: towel use is inconsistently allowed. My first class back was a full 90-minute traditional class (all 26 postures, twice) with a newer instructor - I used a towel briefly, just for grip during bow pose, and it wasn't an issue at all. In my next two classes, at two different locations, more experienced instructors firmly enforced a strict no-towel policy, citing traditional Bikram purity. What's interesting is that this doesn't match the studio's own history. A 5-star review on this page from about three years ago specifically recommends bringing both a large towel for your mat and a small towel to wipe sweat - and the owner replied directly thanking the reviewer and welcoming them to the community. So towels were clearly fine at one point. The studio also modifies the traditional method in other ways today (music in the 60-minute class, dog yoga), so the current strict enforcement feels selectively applied rather than a consistent, longstanding rule. Worth knowing going in if you sweat heavily or need a towel for grip on certain poses - bring a sweatshirt or wristbands as a workaround, or ask before you book.
