Horrible experience using this business. I hired Tony (owner) to redo the siding on the front of…read moreour home and flash a newly installed bay window. I hired him because he has been in the business for a long time and the price was reasonable. The job should have taken less than a full day and instead took months. The end result was poor workmanship which was rushed and I have attached photos. I also had to deal with a good amount of drama between him and his worker who constantly were at each other. The siding was flat matte white and I was told he would have no trouble matching it. Over a month went by and Tony showed up at my home to tell me that he could not match my siding. He then told me that there was nothing wrong with the existing siding and he would have his professional crew come and insulate the window and tie in the composite flashing with the existing siding. I was told that the job would look "clean" and "like new". Over the next few weeks I had one crew from Tony randomly show up to just tell me that they did not do windows and that Tony would call me. A few days later I had another unannounced visit from Tony and his worker Andrew, who stood on the front lawn and essentially argued with each other on how best to flash the window. After a few weeks without hearing from Tony, I called and was told his guy would be there on Saturday. By noon that coming Saturday no one showed up and I once again called only to be told that his crew had car trouble and they would be back the next day. I was given the car trouble excuse once more during this project. Over the next two months, I would have Tony's guy show up sporadically only to do a little work in the afternoon and then tell me he didn't have everything he needed and would be back later in the week. During this project I would never get a call from Tony letting me know when his worker would be at my home or when they would finish. I always had to call to get them to come. When I called Tony to let him know I was unhappy with the time this was taking and his lack of communication he blasted his worker and told me he would have his professional crew show up the next day. The next day his same worker showed up. The finished result was terrible. The cuts on the composite flashing are not flush and are bowed up. There are large gaps between the flashing and the siding as it was not tied into the existing siding so that insects and bugs can get it. There is also an enormous amount of caulk used all around the sides of the flashing and underneath the window. The nail holes were never filled in and visible. When I sent a message to Tony that I was unhappy with the work I never heard from him. I let a few weeks go by and sent him another message that I was disappointed in the fact that he did not come to look at the job or call me. I received a call immediately from his worker who just wanted to argue with me. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

I have referred these clients several of my customers and I had no complaints. They stated that the…read morework was done in a timely manner. They were honest with clients about delays in materials being shipped out upfront and actually got jobs completed earlier than scheduled. I have received no complaints in regards to quality after referring several clients to him. Overall, I will continue to refer business to him. He was always very pleasant with me to deal with.

This top dollar company did the outside work on my row house in Park Slope. We had the place…read morerebuilt and sided and we put a decorative cap at the top of the building. This is the work they do slowly (5 months to being really done), at their convenience, but they do exterior work well. The problem came with the interior work. I asked to have a built in cabinet/bookcase built over one wall. The owner did not remember that I insisted I wanted the piece built out of solid wood, birch to be exact, and painted. Whenever you want painted wood you need to specify that it must be wood or many companies will cut corners. We wanted doors to hide the TV to fold back into the unit. When the piece came the doors could not be installed that way because the depth was wrong on the piece. The entire thing was built out of some crap pressed cardboard product which stunk of formaldehyde and fifty other chemicals - which was exactly what I wanted to avoid since we had two babies in the house. They charged $2500, needed up front, of course. Now, three years later that piece is bubbling from where drinks have been put down on it and since it's cardboard it can't be repaired. We would have had them remove it the day it arrived but after five months of construction on a job that should have taken one month we wanted to get our house back. They also lost the handles for four of the six windows we had installed and also lost the screen to a custom window. It took weeks to convince them that they lost it and that we need the screen and then weeks to get it delivered. Never again inside the house, but for exterior work on a row house - which is tricky business - they were better than the other options. Be prepared to stay on top of them and call when they vanish for a week or two with your house covered in plywood.

A few days before the job was to start, Derek told us he made a mistake on the cost of the cedar and the materials would now be double the original price. He also quoted us the job would take one day plus a second day to add cement footers. For some reason the two days turned into five and we were also charged more for labor than quoted. The whole project was more than double the quote. Very disappointed in this contractor.

I needed a switch replaced and a couple of bathroom cabinets and light fixtures installed. First, on the day they were supposed to come give me an estimate, they forgot about my appointment. Okay. Fine. A few days later the same guy comes to do the work. I don't really look too closely, but I say it's fine. Later, I realize there's paint peeled off the wall where he replaced the switch. And he didn't plaster over the old holes from the old light fixtures. The old hole and wire were full exposed in each bathroom. I show the owner who says he'll come over and fix it. Three times we had to reschedule. Three times. I work a full time job and then some. It's not easy for me to be at home waiting. Finally someone comes. It's not the owner. It's the same guy I complained about. How awkward. He plasters up the wall and seems ready to go. He said it was 5 minute plaster and would be dry soon. I asked if he needed the paint. The paint? Yeah, for the bathroom to paint over the plaster when it's dry. He looked at me like I had two heads. He eventually did it and hung the mirrors back up (yes, even with the wet paint). How could he not realize what was expect of him in this simple job? This company kind of just left me scratching my head. Maybe my jobs were just too small for this supposed handyman company.

Never completed job, wouldn't return calls. Abandoned project after stringing me along for months with excuses. The work that was done was shoddy. Stay away from this guy. Makes all kinds of promises and disappears. A total fraud.
